DIY tailgate down indicator

I had done this modification on my prior F250, and have now done it to my current F250.
I’m notorious for driving off with my tailgate down, so I wanted some sort of indicator that it was down. A bright red LED should do the trick.
In my last install I connected the hot lead to an ignition wire. In this install I went straight to the battery. The choice is yours.

We installed the Sonance Garden Series landscape audio system at the ranch. This kit came with 8 speakers, a burial sub, and an amp. We added a second sub. A Sonos Port provides the content. Did you see the Top Drive?

This home theater has a 7.2 audio system, with the front and center speakers behind an acoustically transparent 133” screen. It has 14 motorized theater seats and an 800 strand star ceiling. The ceiling lights, sconces, and step lights are all Control4, so everything is controlled with the Control4 remote.

Because of the off-axis viewing angle of the Family Room TV from the Kitchen, the client asked if we had a solution. We installed a Nexus 21 motorized articulating mount, and programmed Control4 to control it from their remote, phones, and touchscreens.
