Very nice. ✨
Thank you.😆✨
Thank you for your suggestions.
You're welcome.Thank YOU.🙏😊
Thank you for the second part of the method to prevent cracks. This video has given me some idea of the softness of clay. It needs to be soft enough that it sticks to the board. I have been making Nerikomi ceramics for many years, but every time I make a piece, I end up with many cracks, so I have repeatedly clamped the outside of the piece with a board before cutting it, but I realized that this is not enough. Of course, I apply water to glue it together. I am thinking of buying a soil moisture meter to get a feel for the softness of the clay and try making a piece with the same moisture percentage. Please forgive my poor English.
Thank you for the comment. 🙏🙌 I'm happy to be of your help. Using a soil moisture meter sounds like a good idea! I hope your work will go well.
I have gathered two points as follows. 1. prepare the clay 0:41 2. tighten the edge of the plate 12:28
Thank you for sharing. I will try it in my pottery class 😊
Thank you! Have fun.😊💕
42:29 About trimmings, what does a nerikomika do with their reclaim? Do you have a means of chemically separating the pigments or, more likely do you wedge different commonly reoccurring combinations of colors into separate reclaims and reuse them that way?
Thank you for the questions. My comments are in bold font below. Do you have a means of chemically separating the pigments? *>No. I think there isn't a means of chemically separating the pigments.* do you wedge different commonly reoccurring combinations of colors into separate reclaims and reuse them that way? *>Yes. I sometimes do that thing. or in my case, I make another color by wedging them well. For example, if the scraps in this video are kneaded evenly, they will become pale pink clay.* FYI, I sometimes make small pieces like a chopstick rest or buttons using nerikomi scraps. Does that make sense? Thank you.
Thank you for the detailed process. The bowls are very pretty.
Thank you! 🙏🙌🤗💕
Thank you for the wonderful demonstration of your work and your dedication to creating something beautiful.
I am happy to hear that. Thank you!
Thank you for your wonderful video show.
Thank you.😊🎶🙌
What gauge wire do you use to cut the clay? What kind of clay and colorant do you use? Is the clay porcelain?
Thank you for the questions. The gauge of the wire is 25 (The diameter is 0.5080 mm). I usually use stoneware clay that has grog in it and mix stain made for pottery that was purchased in Japan. (I'd recommend Mason stains.) No, it is stoneware clay.😊
Your videos are great! It would be nice if you added some music or voice to them
I am happy to hear that and thanks for your valuable opinion!🙌
Love that you went slo-mo at times so one can get the gist of it all

What a great idea! Did you use water in between when layering the cut pieces together?
Thank you 🤗 Yes, you're right, that was water!

Kleanthis from Greece. 🏺👍

Glad you enjoyed it. 😊

😊😊😊 Ah...aí está! Milifiori. 😂😂😂 É diferente, mas, é igual! Dá pra entender? Você faz com polimery clay, também? Deve fazer coisas lindas ! Do Brasil 🇧🇷, São Paulo. 😊😊
so satisfying...
I'm happy to hear that. Thanks.😊
Kleanthis from Greece 👌🏺

That green color is really pretty! It looks nice in those bold graphic patterns.
Thank you! 🙏I'm glad to hear that.😆🎶💕
Ευχές για υγεία Kleanthis from Greece 👍🏺
well done 👍👍
Thank you :)
can you please share what type of wood you use?
Thank you.🙏 The boards I used at 0:57 are made of paulownia wood. The ones I used at 15:59 are MDF Boards. I chose them simply because they were very cheap. However, I think that regular wood is the best option!
Awesome!!! can you please share type of wood you use and the length of each???
Thanks so much.🙏😊 The size of the board I used at 6:06 is 45mm x 105mm, while the board I used at 10:31 is 55mm x 120mm. ( I am not sure what kind of wood are they...) The boards Ι used at 32:37 are made of MDF Board, but I think regular wood would be better for pottery. The length is 40cm or 45cm.
Amazing videos! Thanks for sharing! I want to ask you, what kind of clay do you use?
Thank you! I work with different types of clay, such as stoneware clay and porcelain clay. I usually prefer using stoneware clay that has grog mixed into it. Additionally, I make colored clay by blending stains that I purchase from Japan. However, I am interested in trying out Mason Stain soon:)
@@patterny thanks so much for your kind answer :) I also make nerikomi and im very interested about the the clay that people use, I wish to go to Japan again some day and try the clay there
@@Sajarav1 You're very welcome. I see. The clay that I use often is from Aichi prefecture. I heard It is suited for nerikomi. The clay is called _Tokuneri_ B.(特練B). Try it when you have a chance :)
Bonjour. Merci beaucoup.🙏🤗
It's a very beautiful pottery, Thanks ! Question : A many mm thickness for each step ?
Thank you.🙏 I used 3mm boards to make clay sheets and 6mm boards to make the nerikomi slab.
Awesome demonstration - thank you. I have some questions :). I wonder if your clay has grog in it, does this cause a problem when you sand? Also I notice you use water and wonder what kind of sandpaper you use, does it matter with/without water and if stain dissolves in the water when wet-sanding? Best wishes, Malcolm
Thank you, Malcolm. No, I don't think grog causes any problem while sanding. Yes, I did wet sanding in this video. The sandpaper is waterproof and the grind is #240. (Fepa: P240) I used to use regular sandpaper, but I've switched to wet sanding to avoid dust and protect my health. So it does not matter if you sand using dry or wet. Does that make sense? Ask me anything if you have any questions:)🙏
I am impressed by the cleanness. My attempt at a checkered had a lot of cross-contamination of colors.
Thanks so much. Give it a try! 😊♬
Kleanthis from Greece 👌🏺
@@kleanthis_foulidis Εντάξει.
