    Question number 4: The first thing I came up with was: I would be selfish. But when I dropped into silence and took time to let the imaginary situation unfold, I noticed that it was the exact opposite: I still was compassionate, I was kind and loving, but NOT selfish. :) (The situation that came to my mind was one where my mother would be very disappointed and sad of what happened. Fortunately we were able to prevent it, but it was about to happen for 2 weeks. o_O)

    Hi. You know, I 've been watching this video with a nice guy telling Katie Byron, that he is not living up to his full potential from time to time again and again. Well I identify with this belief, and somehow watching helps more than doing it alone myself... If the belief comes back, I can laugh a little, ah, yeah I know this hole in my street... But it takes time. I thank you a lot for your work 😊

    im new to question 4. last night i wanted to work on the tought " My dog could get lost forever in the street", then i asked my self What would this situation be like without thought? , and even i didnt got an answer, i did felt like attachment toughts arising (if i let go this tought im going to abandon my dog, even when my dog is completely okay).

    • @theworkasmeditation
      @theworkasmeditation 2 місяці тому

      Question 4 is a powerful question and it requires a gentle hold. Great work noticing the attachment thought, "If i let go of this thought, I'm going to abandon my dog." You could even question that thought first before continuing with your inquiry. Keep in mind that question 4 is just a thought experiment. You don't have to let go of any thought. Just notice the difference in your inner experience with the thought (question 3) and without the thought (question 4). This will show you how this thought affects you on an experiential level. That's the only purpose of it. Then try some turnarounds and look for a perspective that feels more balanced (less stressful) if you can find one.

      @@theworkasmeditation thanks a lot todd, today i worked again on question 4 and it was the first time i experienced Who would i be in that situation without the tought. Kinda strange being honest. Thanks for the advice, i almost forgot that its a tought experiment ☺️🤝

    This episode is so eye opening for me. It really showed me how I am too taking a situation to use it to bolster a story about me being unworthy and so totally different than most people I meet. The yahoo turnaround made the shift for me and brought me, like the courageous lady doing the work, to my habitual 'easy' way out not taking any responsibility for me owning that the person is not fitting in for me. I am a people pleaser and live with the idea that I have to be nice to everybody. And I expect people to treat me the same way. When they don't, I feel rejected. It's so eye opening to really feel this turnaround and to make it a living turnaround; showing the courage to just be honest and in doing that taking responsibility of my own happiness and bypassing the vicious circle of being the victim. Wow, what a gift to receive from someone else doing Her Work on My Work. Thank you!
