changed the stock "meep-meep" horns to PIAA slimline sports horns on my Subaru XV. The new horns are in the stock locations. There are two horns: a high 500hz and a low 400hz. The mfgr claims 112db. They are louder and more respectable sounding than stock IMO.

Revving two XV engines. One is stock and one has a aftermarket air filter, carbon filter removed, and a velocity stack added to the bottom of the air box. The modified car has a suction sound at the beginning of the rev and slightly deeper sound. Subtle difference.
Ocmulgee WMA Turkey Hen

I called in a hen turkey in Middle Georgia at Ocmulgee WMA. I was using an old Flip HD video camera with limited zoom. You can see her and hear her clucking at me. I only got her to come to about 50 yards before she noticed me and my dumb decoys sticking out of my vest! Learning experience I guess.. It was fun to interact with the bird.

    putting the screw back in , I used a 1/4 in extension a long one 8-12 inches I put a T25 1/4 bit on it a a drop of blue loctight let it set and that let me push that machine screw right in an then just sprayed some chlorinated brake spray with one of those straws on the nozzle about 20 minutes later the blue loctight desolved and I just pulled it out , as far as cutting the oil return line goes just wiggle it around while your holding the cover , its a lot easier then all the whinging everyone does

    Here's a tip, you don't need to touch the adjusters, just knock the axel out from the chain side, then the wheel will move forward on the RHS, and you can roll the chain off.

    Nice thanks. I was looking to get different tires for my 2006. They place wanted $275 for the front, $295 for the back plus labor and tax. F-that. I ordered two both tires online for $150. I'm thinking about getting a changing stand and tools (around $120), then just doing it myself from now on.

      It faster to get there from Dawsonville but easier to tell you from Dahlonega: take 52 west to Nimblewill Church Rd. Find the church and FS 28-1 is to the right of their property. Stay on 28-1 to the fork on the left to FS 77 (winding stair gap). take that to the top. From there you can go several directions but go right to Hawk Mountain Rd if you wanna go to the place in the video. 34.661991, -84.140868 should help. have fun but respect the woods. pack in in pack it out please.

      therivershark a truck would be a way better vehicle off road. Stronger chassis and a real 4wd system, BUT a truck isn't ideal for people who only wheel on the weekends. A XV is something you drive to work and can take off road. Good choice if most of your driving is on the road.

      The driver rode the clutch a little too much over some of the boulders and it overheated. We let it cool down and he drove home no problem. He has since changed his driving style. The manual XV will not stall out going uphill off-road, it will maintain approx 800 rpm and crawl according to this driver so there's no need to constantly be on and off the clutch.

    Thank you for the video, I have the same bike and I know how to do it ! Can you make video how to strain (tighten) the chain ?

    • @JosephMelia
      @JosephMelia 6 років тому

      To tighten the chain ,1.Place the bike on it's center stand so that the rear wheel is slightly off the ground..Use a bike jack if you have one.or put a piece of wood,around 1cm thick underneath the center stand.This will help raise the rear wheel,allowing you to move it.Put the bike in neutral,if you can turn the rear wheel in it's jacked position,you're good. 2. loosen the axle nut on the rear wheel...this will loosen the axle,allowing the rear wheel to be pulled back. 3..Check the end of your rear forks for a set of hex nuts embedded in the forks,you must turn these evenly ,keeping each side at the same distance from the front ,in order to keep the rear wheel in line with the bike as you pull it back.>These nuts pull back one side of the wheel at a time,so crank them evenly a few turns at a time....Make sure the measurement markings along the axle's channel are the same on both side of the bike as you progress... 4.When the chain has the requisite amount of slack,(The correct tolerance of chain slack is printed on a sticker on the right fork,I think). Measure it center chain,half way between the respective sprockets....so between 35 to 40mm vertical slack in neutral gear,or thereabouts,Center chain.make sure the bike remains in neutral throughout).you tighten the axle nut to 100 Newton Meters..I usually just tighten as much as I can.Stand on the fucker..again,make sure the measuring markings on the forks are the same both sides....so that the wheel is in line.... 5.Oh and afterwards,at the very end,tighten the fork-end hex bolts to 10nm...so not very tight,just enough to remove the play in them *Remember ,once the chain has gone past a certain tolerance,it will need replacing...The sprockets and chain should be changed as a set.>You might want a more experienced mechanic to help with this.I recommend an x ring chain. Hope that helps someone.. Buy the manual..it has the correct way to do everything..find one online.
