Thank you for this inspiration which has changed my life ✅

Thank you because I almost gave up today. I am in my early 60’s and received my Masters in my 50. I am disabled from a stroke then got sick again diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. So now I am trying to get my license to be a therapist and it’s difficult. I had 3 people very close to me pass : my mom, my aunt, my uncle and my nephew who lived with me was murdered. I took care of my mother when she was sick and I diagnosed with cancer. Recently, I reconnected after 40 years with my high school sweetheart. He was my boyfriend all through high school and I loved him. I left him because he kept other woman in my face. Now he’s back in my life but he’s wanting a woman who is financially stable. I am starting over trying to regain what I lost when I was sick. I don’t want to lose him but I need to face being alone. So yes I almost just gave up because someone said to me you will be 70 and what are you going to do? That question made me feel like my life is over and I am too old to try and get my life back.

I've worked for MANY toxic bosses across my 40 years of employment. All of them were allowed to keep their jobs despite higher ups knowing about their toxicity. They had a "hook," either they were really good at bringing in "results," i.e. revenue, donations, sales, etc. In one case, the higher ups were a board of directors (nonprofit) and they all knew about the toxic boss. They basically turned a blind eye because she was good at fund raising and they didn't have to deal with her during the work day.I lasted 90 days under that one and I told the board (all men and all attorneys) in my exit interview: "You all need to get your balls out of her purse and deal with her." It took them another 4 years to finally "retire" her. She went to other organizations where she lasted 2 years and 1 year respectively, so I know her toxicity wasn't a secret. Another of my toxic bosses only got fired after he was discovered doing unethical things with staff sales records and finally got fired. It's too bad that so many toxic bosses, and toxic coworkers, are allowed to stay while good people suffer under these individuals. I wish I'd had the confidence I now I have because I would have told these individuals where to put the sunshine when they attacked.

I'm almost 32 and I already feel too old when I go out in parties. I have little time left in my youth to start socializing or even attempting to approach women. I feel old and defeated. I hate being alive. Have done absolutely NOTHING with my life. No purpose no interests. No money.

You are right. But what if your job makes you feel exhausted both physically and mentally and leaves you without any energy to do what you love in your free time?

I was always told by my parents that as you age, that is once you hit 30, your body starts falling apart and health goes bad, blah, blah, blah. I’ve never accepted that 🐴💩 and now I’ll be 50 this year, I bike to work and go on 60 to 70 miles out of town rides regularly, work on my strength training, and I think the most important thing is to steer clear of processed and packaged foods. Eating clean keeps you running better. Last time I graduated from a university (the third time) I was 46. Totally do-able. I couldn’t imagine retiring and just sitting around. Too much to experience.

Menopause zaps the life out of so many women. It is psychologically and physically devastating. Added to that, turning 60 has definitely made finding a job so much more difficult.
