Thx Steve!
Your welcome 😁
Thank you! Now to figure out how to take the casing off to reach the button. 😊
Thanks, saved me a huge amount of grief trying to figure out why the piston wouldn't compress.
Yeah its tricky the first time but never for the piston in when you can see the park brake connected to calipers, have to be screwed in if not electric , and if electric you see in the vid. Basic rule for all cars.
Thank you very much, this video led me in the right direction!! I tried the battery charger and I didn’t work because my battery charger apparently only works connected to a battery and not the selenoid for the caliper piston!! But what did work was a 9 volt battery connected to 2 multimeter cables connected to those little 9v battery wires!! I felt more comfortable this way that it wasn’t too much juice!! Worked like a charm!! Needed to post that!!
Yeah most new chargers dont have manual charging .the charger i used is like 25 years old
Do you have to cycle the brake piston back out of the caliper after the job is done or does the car just know?
First pump the brake with the car off until its stiff and then turn the parking brake on and off a couple times.
Thank you! Worked well for me today retracting the solenoids…never even though to do that until I watched the video, even w/ my electronics background. Used a 12V power supply and meter test leads.
Glad i was able to help
That noise is a blend door beating its own brains out btw lmao. GMs are really bad about that, especially mid to late 2000s
I use this to grow lol
Go get your warrior back bro
I got it back just havent started the rebuild yet. I have all new top end for it and just havent had the time to start yet😂
@Greasejunkiesteve when it's finished post a video please

Question would a 12v 1.5amp Milwaukee battery work for this?
It might but its not something ive ever tried before
Bro wtf even is that
Lol 😂 its what a kawasaki kfx 700 looks like after being flipped and rolled and plastics gone.
Thanks for showing us how it's done! The amperage setting on the charger doesn't really matter here. It's just like house wiring - if you have a toaster plugged into a 15 amp circuit, it doesn't mean the toaster gets 15 amps, it simply means the toaster can draw a max of 15 amps (before the circuit breaker pops). A little motor like that will only draw a few amps. Imagine how quick a 15 amp toaster would make your toast in the morning...
Ac vs dc are different and on car stuff amperage does matter.
What shift kit did you install?
The kit i used during this video was some kit off ebay .came with rays besto clutches but regardless it didnt hold past like 4 months .the same problems happened 2 more times and just said screw it and sold the car
Lol i used the battery off my electric ratchet. Now have to figure out how to bleed. Also broke one clip during entire job
Why are you bleeding the system
Unless you open the lines or had a leak there is no need to bleed the brakes.you dont bleed the brakes when just putting new pads and rotors.
And if you have to bleed the system then make sure you have the vehicle off ,no power or it will mess up the abs
@slow8317 i appreciate the heads up. Brakes feel a bit spongy even though i didnt open the system. Its my wife's car but asking her for a comparison of how it feels is pointless... I'm used to driving cars with sport brakes so I'm not sure. Was just going to do a flush regardless. It's only at 57k but i already have new fluid so figured why not.
Well also remember with the car on the bosster does like 90% of the work and will alway feel funny compared to when you pump up the brakes when the car is off .
It was a repair done by the owner so they “knew it was done right”
I don't have a charger so would the car battery be ok? I would think so but just want to make sure.
Yes just be careful
I was able to retract the EPB motor with a 9v battery. Was worried about using the full 12v while bypassing any computer voltage regulators, if it had any. Thanks for the video.
You do not need to do this hillbilly shit, there is in fact a way to make sure the piston retracts without having to Hotwire the electronic brake, 😂😂😂 I repeat you DO NOT need to do this, i can get done but you might fuck up more expensive shit, 🤣

Hi Steve! i subcribe to your channel and i having one about the same .... keep it up
I thought it was the Hulk machine at first
Always check the work of someone else. Never know what they did for peace of mind
I always find stuff when working on a new customer car
Rotate the strut 180°
The fork is damaged. Replace is the only option
G'day, If it was easy everyone would do it and all of us "Fixers" would be out of work.
I'm still trying to figure out how they did it and how they didn't notice anything
Its not a driver side shock they messed up and didnt turn it facing the right way.
Thought I was the only one that saw that. The driver side one had the pinch bolt behind the strut facing the engine. The one he was looking at was facing out towards him. If it weren't for the damage he could've just flipped it around.
They also left the pinch blot completely rounded .but it's good now.
And regardless of left or right it still was no good .
Whoever owns that car must be really happy that you fixed the problem, Grease Monkey Steve.
Yeah they are lol.
And it's grease junkie Steve lol 😆
Would a 9v battery work?
I wouldn't.
Just did my rear brakes on my Palisade. 9v battery and alligator clips worked perfect to retract the electric parking brake.
@elantra45 good to know .glad to hear it went smooth

@@Greasejunkiesteve both
Honestly don't remember the pump price and to put in was like 40.but that was like 6 years ago
@@Greasejunkiesteve but can you tell me what problem was with my car actually my car was starting off while driving then i find that fuel was not pure so i clean my tank and after 8-9 days it will again doing that then they changed my fuel filter but again they do that please tell me what was the solution of this. Urgent
You may need to clean the carb and filter .and if your tank has debris in it then you'll need to keep cleaning or replace the tank.
Yes I know it isn't proper form but getting better everyday and no I'm not swinging .just working my way back to the weight .no need for advice .I left off with this weight over a year ago and now about 2 weeks back in it.this is way better then when I first started lol. No need for negative comments .move along if you don't like it. Plain and simple.

Thanks for the video, it was very helpful. I change the rear pads and rotors on my Hyundai this morning.
Always happy to help
Just confirm what a did ...thanks
Glad to help
thanks great video doing my sons audI A3 back brakes tomorrow
Hope all went well
I had a problem with spider gears once. Put a lunchbox locker in it. Better traction but a little noisy id recommended the torq master aussie locker. Loved it in my jeep.

Looks like a nice day there where you are
I have a question. I have the same car, but it’s a 07. My “F” = 6, drivers side front ignition coil need to be replaced. Does only popping off the top plate ( the cover that says Toyota and 3.3 on it ) expose the coil so I can replace it easily? You started the video and idk what you took off, that and I don’t know what I’m doing. I was told it was easy?
Yes just remove the cover and you will have access to the front 3. If you need to get to the back 3 you will have to remove the intake manifold.
@@Greasejunkiesteve thank you!

How’s the controller holding up?
It's been great . I keep the temp sensor up by the lights but not close to them and the fan is great .I've had no problems at all.the fan and the wires stay cold and that was my big worry.ill be buying another soon and I'll make another vid.
@@Greasejunkiesteve awesome, look forward to the combo review.
Howdy, what other issues do you have with this vehicle? I have the same car, and I love it. But I want to keep it running. I’m just wondering if you had any reoccurring issues?
Over all it's a great car. Got 320k on it and it's never left me stranded.
good video

How did you get the hub flash with the drum? Thats where I am stuck!
nice. the spacer is used to limit the fuel pressure to a max of 2.5 lbs at solex carb. it lengthens the dustance the cam lobe makes contact with the fuel pump rocker arm. also, oldtimers suggest to only put gasket material on the block side, that way it can be reused when/if you need to remove fuel pump at later date.
