Sansamp has stated that the mids control set to 500 at 11 o’clock on the V2 is the same settings the mids on V1 is set at. They are practically the same pedal people. One just has a mids knob.

The Sansamp sounds muddy to me when the gain is up, I sold mine long ago, I prefer the MXR.

What are the cross for ?

DarkGlass Alpha/Omega is similar but sound better in my opinion, and it has a blend knob which is a big deal maker.

hello, i have the old Sansamp v1 You hear quite a bit of noise (with 9v battery) if you turn the Blend, Treble & Presence all the way to the right (& turn up the Drive more) That seems to me or is normal with these types of preamp pedals? probably also audible with normal bass amps? more dependent on the quality of the amp Naturally.. When Blend is turned all the way to the left, the noise largely disappears and the sound spectrum then changes for the most part. If the LED is off (not active tone control) then it will be a DI with a passive signal. We'll see how it holds up on one pedalboard, but it's really useful to have this there.. thanks for the advice

I bought the V1 used in new condition with the still old original box! Built around 1990, I paid €100,- (euro's)for me purely a preamp and to make the sound a little fatter in the mix or live if I don't bring my own bass amp or for recording or with my other effects on the pedal board! This one first in the chain? then compressor, octaver & chorus? myself a fan of old versions.. Would you like your opinion good deal for the money? I use old Fender P & J basses and a 5 string fretless greetings Fred

How come there are 3 Boss pedal and no MXR, EH or any other pedals besides a Rat and a Stompbox Black Label. Pretty one sided review. I do like the Blues Driver

The rat sounds terrible on bass. It shows that a dedicated bass fuzz or distortion does the job much better. Keep the rat for the guitar.

I understand that many prefer V1 as it offers the "finished" bass sound straight out of the box. You can also do a lot wrong with the mid control. But it's no problem to set the scooped mid sound you're used to from the V1 Bass Driver with the V2 version of the pedal. And if you're looking for something different, V2 has significantly more options. That's why I'm glad that V2 exists.

A lot of people preferring the V1 here just shows you that they prefer the "bedroom tone". Scooped, no mids, drowned in the band mix. Yeah no s$ Sherlock it sounds smoother, it HAS NO MIDS.

I have the same combination, muff>>mxr and the sound is enourmous. All hell breaks loose with that punched distortion. The four horsemen have been reieased.

MXR was more musical, and the Sans was more natural

Отвратительная отстройка MXR. Положи бас и больше не подходи к педалям. Владел и той, и другой педалью. Конченный сансамп даже приблизительно не показывает ноздри рядом с м80. М80 выше в пищевой цепи - кратно.

The V-Ton BDI21 from Behringer sounds similar to SansAmp V1 for onle $39 bucks.

Well the comments are pretty mixed. I just ordered both and will keep the one that suits my style.

The V1 is far more articulate to me. V1 for the win. The V2 has a fuzzy drive that I’m not a fan of.

That pedal is pretty good on bass, thank you for not playing some lame slow music u don’t know how much I appreciate it. I play hard and heavy and it’s always a challenge to get a good idea if a pedal will work for me. Alot of bass players are weak and just suck and are fat i hate them! They make my blood boil! When they start playing all soft and emotional songs makes me want to pull a Hamas on them. That rat bastard pedal sounds just as good as my dark glass pedals but with its own style it really digs in, I just might have to pick one up for myself soon. Keep up the good work man

I use an MXR and for OD I use a Berhinger Vintage Tube Overdrive T0800 and it doesn't sound too bad
