That's intriguing to hear, we're getting these to replace our old M90 helmets in the Swedish armed forces and it's the least comfortable helmet ever made probably :P

@@themagnushjort That's strange. When you say they're the least comfortable, what do you mean? Are you getting hotspots? Are you talking about the straps? Hmm... Are they new or used? Whats the padding? Are you using the padding they come with, or an aftermarket one? If you're having an issue with the padding, maybe getting hotspots or something like that... Are you using the little ... I don't know what to call them, the little velcro standoff pieces?

@@RprtBak They're heavy and fit poorly over hearing protection. The straps are a pain to adjust (I've spent hours), uncomfortable and work poorly. The padding is questionable and I sometimes get pressure on the back of my head that gives me headaches while some people get scraped in the forehead by the helmet cover. It's a really terrible helmet, maybe good for 1990 but not nowadays. We're supposed to get these Galvions in Q1, Q2 and Q4 of 2024 according to FMV though. Hopefully that sticks because we don't do nearly enough exercises while wearing helmets.

@@themagnushjort Are you sure you're talking about the Caiman? Or are you talking about other Galvion helmets like a viper? Heavy? I'm assuming you're talking about ballistic helms and not the bumps. The ballistic helmet isn't heavy compared to other ballistic helmets on the market, it's actually one of the lightest ones around. It's far lighter than opscores. I had 3 opscore ballistic helms, and currently only have 1 left. But all my galvion helmets have always been lighter than the opscore ones. It's also comparable to team wendy when it comes to weight as well. The caiman ballistic is 1.47lb/.67kg (Small) - 1.92lb/.87kg (XXL - which is what I have lol) vs the opscore which are usually around 2-3lbs (.9 - 1.3kg) depending on model. Team Wendys are 2.6lb (1.18kg) - 2.75lbs (1.25kg). My old Opscore RF1 was 3.13lbs (1.4kg).. So, I'm honestly not sure what the complaint is about the weight. Have you used other ballistic helmets in the past? Have you weighed the helmet? Whats is its weight at? And is that weight just the helmet, or with accessories... Lights, nods, battery packs, IR markets, etc.? You talk about the ear pro, what kind of ear pro are you using? If you're using ear pro w/ the headband, you should remove some of the padding where the ear pro runs across the helmet. But that's with any helmet. I've used comtac 3's and opscore amps both with my opscore and galvion helmets. My comtacs were mounted directly onto the helmet with arms. But the opscore amps I've used with just the headband inside the helmet without issue. Does your ear pro have extra padding wrapped around the top? Are you sure you're wearing the correct size helmet? The pressure on the back of the head, and front of the helmet scraping sound more like issues with incorrect sizing, and incorrect chin/strap adjustments of the helmet than an actual issue with the helmet itself.

Any 40mm filter including NATO or gost threaded filters will be compatible they do not have to be avon

Many Ballistic helmets nowadays are Snake oil. Even well-known "reputable" companies. Sure it may be NIJ rated and might stop the round but the back face deformation is sure to cause TBI or even death. 😔

So does the team wendy helmets and ops core fast. That's just how polyethylene helmets tend to go

Do it you won’t regret it. I’m getting one as well. Get some potassium iodide as well. IOSAT is a good company for that. It helps block any radiation to your thyroid.

You guys will die even if you buy fm54 and chem suits.... youd have no actual idea on how to survive
