I just toured the facility today with my brother and we loved it. I was so happy helping him to find the right place to live as he enters a new chapter in his life. Glasswater gave me a great peace of mind. 😊

Can an ALF(Assisted Living) take my Mom's LINK card when they are already getting funded by the state with her SS check? My mother qualified for Medicaid and the state sent her a LINK card for groceries. She has no need for the groceries since she stays at the assisted living place. However, the facility asked for this LINK card stating that this would also go to help pay for her meals. This bit of information was never given to me in the beginning of applying for Medicaid for my mother. Is this common for facilities to do this?

I finally reached an answering machine today (once transferred to the "operator") after calling the number provided many times. When being told you are being transferred to the operator It rings and rings and rings and rings with no one picking up. Several times earlier today I couldn't even get to the operator because after it says "Thank you for calling Guardian Management Solutions" it drops the call. If this is any indication of how the facility is run, I am concerned. It is a lovely facility, but the attention residents receive is by far more important.

Note to the public: Be sure to request records for your loved one's residency while they are housed there. If you do not, and you need them in the future, chances are 50/50 that the records will become "lost and missing". My dear mother was in their memory care facility in Berlin, Maryland when bad things happened to her there. She was sick and she was victimized via legal shenanigans with an ill-gotten new power of attorney. Then she was moved 2,000 miles away, under the care and control of disinherited estranged adult kids and she died. Now there's a probate matter. Gull Creek itself and Gardant Management are each saying my mother's records are "missing" and have been "lost". You both allowed nefarious activities in your memory care facility, but then claim "lost records"? It's far from over so it'd be good if you find my dear mother's records while she was at your facility in 2018, Gull Creek in Berlin, Maryland. You know how to reach me. Thank you.
