What remains of my JOHN CALE vinyl collection....
Hi Fi!!
🤣🤣!!!
The way god intended it to sound 🤘
even Satan cowers under the covers when subjected to this!!!
Sorry for stuffing up Canadia for you 😂 I worked in Brashs & Borders many moons ago and Naxos classical cd's were very popular. See I do know something about all that high brow stuff.
NAXOS had great sound and were MUCH cheaper than the big labels....WIN,WIN
OCD.... That's me. Fortunately I'm not the Monk type but I am the obsessive collector type. I even collect UA-cam channels. I'm subbed to thousands of channels! Insane. I collect music here. My playlists include everything! I'm NUTS.
If everyone in the world was as NUTS as you are Ed....the world would be a BETTER PLACE!!
Stuard the masocist. Let him hear tortured by the sounds of click and pops for years to come. "Its a bit crackely in the beginning but that's normal. Another record that is G+...nevermind"
Nevermind the Quality....Feel the Width!!
The history of modern pop music all within 6 minutes! It's unusual to see you show a big record. I'm sure I'd never raise my voice like that 😂
I reckon The SAINTS should have called themselves The STAINS.....more pUNk cred perhaps?
@@VagueRANT100 There was some early 80's LA punks called the Stains
@@benrankins4446 DARN IT.....here I am trying to re-write pop history and some poodle haired ponces stole my thunder!!
Needles and Pins and When You Walk In The Room were both songs that should have been hits for Jackie DeShannon! Her versions are better.
MUCH BETTER!!
The way this video went, I was sure you were going to pick Trick Of The Light........!!! Cheers John D.
I gave up worrying about hairlines years ago. That was around the same time I decided to start shaving me bonce.
The early PIL records are brilliant. Never Mind The Bollocks is just a great rock 'n roll record to me. The Residents were Orff their gourds!
I'm going to re-access my whole way of listening to music and just stick to my third favourites. The old visual gag 😂
OK. I will listen to it!
Hope you like it Brian!
This was sad news.
That first PiL single! Yes, it was and still is awesome. Carmina Burana is an extraordinary piece of music.
Thanks for the shout out. I lived in Australia 1970/72 starting at Brisbane and then coast to coast in my dad's Cortina with a tent trailer. We picked up 2 aborigines on the way and one of them was sick in the car LOL. Lived near Perth zoo very nice place. Should have stayed but then I again the UK is the place to live as a record collector/seller.
Wow....what an adventure Stuart! Australia was still a primitive backwater 50 years ago and there was a sense of open space and freedom . The tyranny of distance is less obvious now!
@VagueRANT100 my parents were insane to do that with 3 kids in the back let alone pick up hitch hikers.
@@LPCLASSICAL I think it was a SIXTIES thing Stuart...there were many others doing the same thing at that time! I could never see the attraction in crossing The Nullarbor myself...too few charity shops on that road!!!
Judith Durham absolutely kills me on the B side to Georgy Girl..When The Stars Begin To Fall. Sgt. Pepper is one of the only albums I have both a mono and stereo copy of and both of them are still in the shrinkwrap. Got 'em years ago from a long out of business seller that mailed out lists. Pretty cheap, the way I remember it. I had a copy from my teen years, played to death.
Ed those shrinkwrapped Peppers coild be very valuable ....gonna check out that Bside now and then have a nanny nap!
@VagueRANT100 Judith hits this note that could break glass.
Genius plan to get around the copywrite b.s. Maybe playing records backwards? I think at least 90% of my collection would never get a strike cuz who would copywrite the weird shit?
🤣🤣🤣!!! very funny Mr.90%!!!
Some very wise words for Ben. All those split seams in one go! I really felt for the guy.
Oh blessed are the subs and the likes that Lord Normie bestows upon us.
🤣🤣🤣🤪!!!
Between my whisper out and Ben's SHOUT OUT your sub count and views will skyrocket.
Oh HAPPY DAY!!!
I've also heard Barry Gibb re-tell this story & say it had a huge impact on their sound 😂
you CHEEKY YOUNG DEVIL!!!!......Glad you featured ENDTRODUCING Ben....yep,a True Masterpiece!!
@@VagueRANT100 Apparently before they hit on the disco success they were working on an all pedal steel/slide album called David Freeman Fever. Entroducing is the shit 👍
@@benrankins4446 yes the"BOYS " stole my Thunder!!
@@VagueRANT100 😂 Seriously their late 60's/early 70's stuff is top shelf. My mum loved the disco era so when it got to the point of saturation, punk seemed like the perfect antidote.
@@benrankins4446 I would go to the OXFORD FUNHOUSE for the NOISE and stop off on the way home for a nightcap at a DISCO in Hurstville to CHILL....GREAT TIMES!!
R.I.P. Smiley. I've never seen the film but know of it. I met Joe Cocker once. Read into that what you will. It's nice hearing the birds in the background.
You have ALL the LUCK Ed!! I took up slide because of SANTO and JOHNNY...it still gives me the tingles! Colin Peterson is in SMILEY and it was a big hit here and the UK, so they made a sequel called SMILEY GETS A GUN with a different child actor. Both movies are great....sort of an Australian TOM SAWYER thrills and spills adventure for all the family...
I'll have to see Smiley. I'm a sucker for old kid movies. Slide guitar! I'm hearing Santo and Johnny doing Sleep Walk. My bus adventures are not with famous people but with horny girls, psychos, kids traveling alone (I look like someone safe) and young mothers who have me taking care of their babies!
I'm sad for you, but I do not know much about King Crimson except that Fripp played on a stack of great New Wave records. Sorry for your loss.
It"s OK Ben.....he got to 80yo!
They are all departing. Soon there will be only one left.. Ringo!
you are better than NOSTRADAMUS Ed!!!!
You're always turning this frown upside down 😂And at no extra charge some inner Ben psychoanalysis 👍
😂
Split seams! Rekkid covers are bad enuf but those splits in my pants are even worse!
I'm only aware of a Richter Scale. We need a gear tour so we can check out your jarrah. I can Hear The Grass Grow & Whiter Shade seems like an odd pairing to me. Small Faces would be close to my favourite non Australian 60's band. "It's not shit" 😂I'm pretty sure the first time I heard Hole In My Shoe it was by Neil from the Young Ones.
Thanks for reminding me of PENNY CENTURY....love the CLOUDS!!!
@@VagueRANT100 I do what I can with what I got 👍
Cool, more EPs! I have some Sviatoslav Richter recordings on CD. I remember the glory days!
Hi Brian!....thank goodness someone else knows Richter.....surely you are way too young to remember the Glory Days!!!🤣🤩
I hate it when I buy a supposed to be M- 45 and it's been visually graded and not play graded. I play them and they sound awful!
That is why I buy as CHEAP as possible Ed....2 bucks?...what me worry!!!!
The most I ever paid for a GRAIL (VINCE MELONEY SECT on KOMMOTION Label) was $160 at auction ten years ago....it was covered in spidery scratches but sounds FANTASTIC.....those old MONO 45s are mostly bulletproof!!!
@VagueRANT100 I paid over $100 ($115 I think) for Disco 3000 by Sun Ra with handmade cover and even the labels were cut by hand. Neighborhood kid in Philadelphia helped out. Probably worth a thousand.
@@mistery-ed7900 RARE as hens teeth!!!!!! What a treasure!
8gm! Plow your vinyl!!
🤣🤣🤣!!!
Tour de France is a classic. Love the 12 and also watching the actual race every year on SBS - a guilty pleasure!!! How did Jefferson-Starship go from White Rabbit/Somebody To Love to We Built This City...🤪OMG, Ghost Town must be one of the most-ever played videos on Rage: I love the artwork on the 7/12; brilliant tune too. Doug Ashdown forgives you for that recent rant, but he should have got a second opinion on the artwork 😂Cheers John D.
Hi John! I was in Dusseldorf in the summer of 1978 with my German girlfriend Regine. It turned out that she went to school with the sister of KRAFTWERK member Ralf Hutter. The sister had invited Ralf to her rooftop apartment for a small gathering to celebrate his birthday and invited us to come along. We waited and waited but the notoriously shy fellow failed to appear at his own party....I was bummed,I had just bought a german pressing of The Man Machine album and was hoping to get it signed...oh. well I have a signed autobiography of percussionist/beatmaster WOLFGANG FLUR as compensation!!
My favorite Baby Blue is the 13th Floor Elevators version. The guitars/sound is mindblowing.
Gotta check THAT ONE out Ed!!!!
I love the Elevators take Ed....great stuff,I am getting a BIG STAR vibe off of it !!
@@VagueRANT100 I remember first hearing it and it felt like hearing the song for the first time.
@@mistery-ed7900 Good old ROKY!!
The Ghost Town 12" is a shed burner. I love it when you tear into artists. Don't go changin'. So no hugs if I ever meet you? I don't I'd be able to help myself. Kraftwerk oh yeah! I like Them, hate Van solo & I do love Mystic Eyes. AOR ya big softie 😂 I have that 1000 Homo DJ's 12" of Supernaut.
Isn"t there a brand of diapers called HUGGIES? don"t go changin" my huggies as I"m still quite able to help myselfon a less serious note I award you the NORMIE ROWE AWARD OF EXCELLENCE with OAKLEAVES CLASP for having the good taste to mention Ghost Town as a SHED BURNER and admit to owning a copy of that WACKY version of Supernaut!!!!.....I gotta go check out Mr.Eds fave version of Baby Blue....I bet it is as twisted as he is!!!!
@ There’s an image! 😳 but I’ll still accept the award 👍
@@benrankins4446 🤣!!
Ghost Town is quite a track. Not many people mention David Wiffen! I have that Kraftwerk 12". Love it. Yes: 1000 Homo DJs! You hit some highlights here 🙂
Thanx for the inspiration Brian!!!
Wow, that Cybotron cover is strange! The ugly cover is ugly 😂
Hi Brian! poor old Doug Ashdown.....whover was responsible for his album cover was no friend of his!!!
Ouch! Doug Ashdown is feeling the hurt.......you did not hold back. He did have a bit of a Weird Al Yankovic look, I have to admit 😂I do like the song 'Winter In America' though.👍 There are a number of Aussie records in the late '70s which often have a strange half-peeled look to the covers; Supernaut is one which comes to mind, also Marcia Hines and Hush. Something in the way they were made? Oh, and glad you liked the Naretha Williams LP😀Cheers John D
I was being a bit cheeky with Dougie......please keep my little secret safe John....what secret you may ask? I treasure my copy of WINTER IN AMERICA 45....SERIOUSLY!!
"I don't know much about art, but I know what I hate" Didn't the bloke from Cybotron also wear a cape?
Yep.....and platform shoes!!!
It's an Australian pressing, mate. Not Ukrainian.
I'm from the States and love obscure Australian rock'n'roll! when I first heard Digby Rigby I was drawn in completely.. such a rare record. If I were to mention it to anyone here in America they wouldn't even understand haha
Have just found your chanel Sir and am happy to report I love it more than Mr. Heaton's. Cheers! and reapectful rousing cheers from USA.
Gothique and Grotesque: now that gets me interested........😀For a Melbourne perspective, look up Naretha Williams; she had access to the Melbourne Town Hall organ, and I reckon she did a good job.....Blak Mass is the album from 2020. Cheers from Melbourne Cup land. John D.
Seabiscuit by a nose!!!
I checked out BLAK MASS.....FANTASTIC....thanks for putting me onto it!!
You mean this isn't yet another VC review of the new Cure album?!?
I thought I would leave that honor to you Ben😂!!!
I'm trying to get a bunch of rekkids together to trade tomorrow. I've gotta drive 4 hours to see a dentist so I figured a rekkid store trade job would be something productive. Fun fun fun!
Good Luck with both Ed!
The whole "Suite Gothique" by Léon Boëllmann is worth listening to. This only is part of the Toccata. ua-cam.com/video/G0Fj3UD8gBI/v-deo.html
Ya hot heir to in the central west Dave 'its got a bite today .Haha 🤡
He’s voice , imho, kept on getting better as he aged. Who knew you could improve upon perfection
Hairspray & matches makes a good blow torch. I like John Waters the person and find him a very interesting person when he's talking about pretty much anything, but I can't get into his movies. Chopper was equal parts bullshit & truth. Funny bastard though. Best thing Eric Bana ever did was the Chopper movie. That Song For The Road book certainly does sound like my cup of milo.
I regret losing all my John Waters books, dog nabit, gol durn it.....Song for the Road is my 5 litre goony sack too!!!!
@ Try explaining that to the yanks 😂
The Singing Defective!! I love Hairspray but haven't seen it in ages. Have you ever seen Welcome To The Dollhouse? A favorite middle school nightmare movie. Dawn Weiner really has herself a time.
Hi Ed...John Travolta plays the mother in HAIRSPAY!!....I have WELCOME TO THE DOLLHOUSE on CVD....an absolute CLASSIC IMO!
