My dad had one of his albums when I was little , I grew up listen yo him .❤
Lily Munster and Ben Kenobi, have we seen it all?
He sings this so compellingly and unaffectedly that it never fails to bring me to tears. 💗💗💗
The music comes from Nicholas and Alexandra
Edward was a great singer as well as actor . I didn't know he had such s great voice til recently . Play Me ...❤
Gotta love Edward…
Beautiful. Beautiful. Beautiful. Roberta Flack's slow out of the gate juggernaut version of this song was recorded in 1969 and become the biggest selling record of 1972, the same year this version was recorded. Hard to compete with the version the whole nation finally fell in love with.
A difficult song to sing! From Bacharach and David's only musical: Promises, Promises in 1968. A successful production by any measure, but they never tried another, must not have liked the experience. I like the tone of sadness in Edward Woodward's interpretation here.
A song that becomes more meaningful as we age. Written by Kurt Weill and Maxwell Anderson and introduced by Walter Huston on Broadway in Knickerbocker Holiday in 1938. His recorded version is very touching as you can hear the age in his voice. Edward Woodward turned 40 the year he recorded this - perhaps a bit too young still?
One of my favorite songs. It was introduced by Irene Dunne in the movie High, Wide and Handsome in 1937. Beautiful interpretation here.
I hadn't realized he had recorded so extensively - beautiful voice. And I love this song - a revolution in American popular music when it was introduced in 1914 with its conversational style (... "and I'm certainly going to tell them" ...
So lovely! beautiful voice!
Listening to this has reminded me that I bought one of his records many years ago. I’ll have to check it out.
Amazing beautiful voice . I will buy his albums . His voice sooths me . RIP
Ewdward was also an acclaimed musician
Didn't know Edward was an aclaimed musician, as well as a singer
Terrific rendition of a timeless classic...
Thanks for posting these glorious songs. I haven’t played the CD for some time! I do wish I’d seen ‘Two Cities’.
Lovely voice.
Another great song from the great Ted Woodward... Once again, thank you Ludmila for sharing it..
Thank you for uploading this Ludmila... Edward Woodward was a marvellous singer and terrific actor..
Wow ❤😢😅😊
damn that man could SING
Edward you rule
That's wonderful, the powerful voice of Edward. A rarity to have this, I managed to get a CD copy from Stage Door Records, the quality is improved and in addition some demo recordings made in 1966 (This is definitely worth checking out). What's more, the production behind it comes from the brilliant producer Jeff Wayne and his father Jerry, known for producing an opera-rock musical "War of the Worlds" from 1978.
Me too! 🎉 Glad to see you acknowledge ‘WOTW’.
Old Woody had a moderately good voice. He wasn't Elvis, but he was okay.
Oto poezja mojego zycia...caly ten kanal...love all of you...thank you for being the most beautiful sense of my tiny life...stay safe and sound !
Beautiful and effortless.
The tone, the diction, the emotion -- PERFECT. How did I not know this talented actor could sing so beautifully?!
Wonderful voice, great actor.
What a beautiful voice 😍
Edward Woodward was amazing actor also he was amazing singer
Edward had a very good voice!
Спасибо!
Never heard this version before, it's great.
His interpretations always make you listen to the lyrics closely, and the orchestral arrangements are uniformly excellent. If only his LPs had been released on CD.
What a talented fellow this man was.
На нашего Афоню похож😂 Россия поймёт😊
А ведь и правда! :)))
Just trying to find one as good as the one in “a simple wish”
We're share the same quest
@@ADHDmenace1118 Same quest right here.
right!?! i for years would catch myself just singing that one line from A Simple Wish. I wish we had him do this whole song so bad
@@s.fitzy.2024 I am saying the same thing! There should be an entire song with full lyrics! Its too good not to!
It does not exist. The simple wish version is the pinnacle.
Lovely
Thank you Edward callan Woodward
🙏👏👏👏
Wow, I knew he was a good actor, but never knew what a Brilliant singer he was as well🙏💙🕊️God bless R.I .P.
Lovely orchestral arrangement. It's such a shame that all the excellent LPs he made were never released on CD.
Edward Woodward was amazing singer also he was amazing actor I loved him in equalizer and Merlin and the sword also the Bass Player and the Blonde they need to show more of his movies does anyone have Robin Hood where he plays Robin Hood
Where can I find the movie I would like to see it
Apparently EW became a pretty good double bass player, after learning it for a TV role!
Always touches my heart. It was a very favourite song of my beloved Mother.
I hope to do a bit of old times in London on my channel. Fingers crossed get this song on it too
This song has me hooked. Love it.
