Bodie, California: A Journey Through Ghost Town Frozen in Time
Переглядів 501Місяць тому
The town of Bodie exists as a frozen whisper from the past, holding onto its secrets in the dust and echoes of footsteps long since faded. This once-booming mining town, now a ghost town, offers a narrative that is both fascinating and somber, a tale of human endeavor, ambition, and the inevitable decay of all things made by man. Its story begins in 1859, when William Bodey discovered gold near...

Went to school with Carla and Darla 83 was the last class in Eagle Mtn
Lucky you, good memories 👍
Been through many times in my years seen it totally different now,was a beautiful oasis in the middle of the desert ,,many palms many awesome restaurant wonderful scenery many happy times stopping resting.😎thank you for the memories back😊
Thanks for sharing, good memories, used to be a great stop on the highway...
Would be so curious to see what's inside :) Did you try to get in with the drone or close to windows?
👍
I grew up in the 60's and 70's off of Canyon Drive and spent lot's of time at the Bronson Caves. We had a Motocross track for our mini bikes. We would watch shows like High Chaparral, Batman, and the movie Shangrila to name a few. What a great place to grow up back then. At the entrance to the park there are some iron grids in the little creek. Back in the day we could swing them open and walk all the way down into Hollywood in the storm drain system. 67 now and I miss those great days in Bronson Park.
Slab city
Kiaser Steel killed a lot of people why does know one speak the truth of that. Not being negative just telling the truth -
There's gold in them thar hills!
Scientists estimate there are tons of gold in those mines.
i remember going through there in the 70's on the way to the river from so cal....crazy it is all abandoned
What about the other glyphs in the area? They usually only show the first two but from what I understand there’s a total of of six.
Fake nowhere empty house around there
Well done. Straight forward narrative and a quiet drone view for quarter of the length of video. Very nice package
I visited castillo del diablo two weeks ago on night 😁😁😁😁😁 it's awesome !!!
I prays in the name of God that I'm not afraid of the enemy satan needs to go
This is word for word from wiki
So what?
It's so sad to see it in its current state, dead and lifeless. I would love to see home videos of this place when it was a thriving community full of life and in its glory. I hate when big corporations build and control a community only to abandon it when it no longer serves its purpose, especially when the worker/residents invest their life and money into it. When the company decided to close down, they should have gotten rid of the machinery that wasn't going to be used and filled in the areas that were dug up. The businesses, schools, etc. should have been turned over to the community so that they could expand and be self-sufficient. I hope that they will revive this town in the near future and restore it to its beauty and not let it rot away.
Amazing.
Thank you!
Is the Bronson cave open or did they close it down cause haven’t gone no more 😊
I think it’s still open to the public, but not sure.
ai voice. downvote.
Just seen this in person yesterday shits crazy man
That’s right, very unusual, straight out of hell…
so cool !
Thank you!
I can't believe I've lived in AZ for 14 years and never heard of this place. Great video, btw. I want to visit!
Glad you liked it. This ghost town is hidden deep in the mountains, hard to access, few people visit it.
This is the perfect solution to Californias homeless problem. How many millions if not billions have already been spent on this problem with absolutely no resolution. We could spend that kind of money to provide homeless shelters in a place like this. The homeless need somewhere to live but not in established communities and neighborhoods. This would not be voluntary. If you are living on the streets you would be taken here with opportunity’s to get their lives together. The homeless would have a rood over their heads, toilets and showers, food and medical S is the obvious solution. A humane solution that will keep them out of or our neighborhoods.
You hace suggested a great idea, however the problem is that many homeless people prefer to live on the streets and do nothing instead of trying to get their life together and be productive.
From what I understand the reason this has not become another 'slab city' is 1) It was never actually 'abandoned' the way slab city was, it has always been owned and patrolled by security. Like the type of overzealous (and extremely bored) security that wish they were cops. 2) Slab city looks like its out in the middle of nowhere but it really isn't too far for the people there to go get supplies or have stuff brought to them. From what I understand this place is WAY out in BMF and the people would be pretty SOL. UPS and Fedex definitely would not go deliver out there like they do at slab city and they also wouldn't get all the benefits that come with being a funky tourist trap/ UA-cam freak show that they have at slab city. 3) It's even hotter there than at slab city, and slab city gets so hot in the summer that 99% of the people who stay there leave for the summer.
I think you are absolutely right about it. It was a remote mining town in the middle of NOWHERE, with extremely hot temperatures and 50 miles each way to any civilization point with food, gas, etc. And it’s a commercial property with private security.
I've been to Desert Center many times when it a flourishing and functional town.I remember the 1916 Dodge Touring car that sat next to the Diner and Where house and ate in the Diner many many times. They even shot an episode of the T.V. show Air Wolf ,I remember the scene where the chopper was hovering 6 feet off the ground in front of the diner. In that scene, the Diner was the Sheriff's office of a corrupt Sheriff, and the ammo did fly!! Also, in the where house I was shown a 1940 Indian Chief on a pallet in pieces but complete.A 1941 Harley Davidson military bike-ready to ride in full military dress that had 15 miles on the odometer. this was in 1990 - 1993. My ex brother in law used to prospect gold in the surrounding hills.
Those were the golden times for Desert Center. But everything changes with time, and keeping this place in business was getting harder and harder every year.
This guy doesn't even know how to pronounced the word "ore".
Pronunciation defect
theres race track now its very popular N it has lovely scenic views,
👍
in the '60's working in trucking we had a co-worker whose husband was a line driver for Transcon....he drove from LA to Desert Center where he exchanged his trailer for one going to LA and his went east from DC......is this the same town
😂He's not a satanist⁉️ Could've fooled me..... maybe a demon possessed him to built this demonic horrible castle...... It is what it is "Devil's Castle" Gothic = satan .
White man makes a beautiful story about his Life on stolen native land
*brings back same plate minus bug*
I would love to see this place restored and have at least a few people live here to have tours and such. I wouldn't mind living here.
Been through there a couple of times as a kid in the 60s when it was still a town. Sad to see the decay
Mexico isn't becoming famous because of him lol mexico made him famous
Best spot to see a full moon rise.
How are the natural.features of it hazardous? Is it radioactive, or something?
Time to have it destroyed. Going to have to report to the Mexican government that it's unsafe and dangerous. 😂😂😂
It’s beautiful
This is crazy! I wanna visit it
Another note... My high school used to play against Eagle Mountain high school back in the early 1970's......
Decades ago some of those "company homes" were dismantled and brought to my town and placed on individual lots to be sold as private residences... Cheap crappy homes sold dirt cheap....🤣
As a child i went trough Desert Center several times when it was still alive from the 60s on when the family was traveling
Eyed live there but would consider looking for Gold not iron
I rebuke any bad from watching this
My parents actually have history with desert center, their was an abandoned cafe i got to see once, my grandma used to work their, its so surreal to see desert center from another pov
I've been to Desert Center several times and photographed it. Stanley was a character and once took us inside his "treasure" room and there was an old Indian "Four" motorcycle in there. My friend asked him how much would he take for it. He said one million dollars.
It is an eyesore but it's got charm
