Violet Vector and the Lovely Lovelies - Can You Dig It?
This is amazing! They took it down from Spotify. I’m so glad you shared this 🎉
I saw Soft Machine second-billed to Jimi Hendrix in Seattle in 1968, and they impressed me as much as Jimi did. Soft Machine was the greatest avant-garde band of the 1960s. What fantastic imagination and playing!
I've always wanted to mash this up with a song by the same name from the 1970s. I wanna say it was Jim Croce who did that? Guess I should do some digging.
Rattlege, England’s greatest jazz organist, trifles with his solo over the simplistic two-chord comping on his Lowrey organ. Noblesse oblige.
monotonous drivel
why did spotify take this down? :(
Le commentaire parle de lui-même Troisième dimension, et pourquoi pas la cinquième ! Great !!!
the swan song..................
I just love how the bass removes the emotional chaos in 13:46.
Simply love❤
_Che palle._
I bought this in Germany 1972, as i wad into much harder rock, this has been in the collection and dont listen much but always there are passages that stick in memory .....
The first half is great. The second half I find equal parts boring and irritating. Which sums up my take on prog in general. I love it when a group feels free to experiment, until it all goes fiddly diddly and then they lose me; and doesn't that always happen...
ok prog geezers i know what you're gonna say bc of my profile picture; no, im not gonna talk about jojo's doodah adventure. my dad collects vinyl and i have fond memories of hearing him play third on his stereo system. you need to listen to the remaster of this song. one of very few songs that can bring me to tears from how beautiful it is. I dont even want to believe that this is from 1969. thank you robert wyatt for gifting the world with such great music
Dio è grande!
The experience of listening around 1970 with a room full of fellow rock musicians to Third is cascading back on me as I listen to your upload of this transformational album. When it was played through we ran it again. My infinite thanks.
This is just about the most groundbreaking amazeballs tune that ever happened in the known universe.
This sounds a little speeded up. Like Supersister was doing this…
14:03 - 14:08, Jamal "Fade Em All" sample, pete rock producer
This album is a masterpiece
That's not the greatest music/lyris/etc ever written, but Lord's witness it is an extremely lalented suite
BRIVIDI.
Dire capolavoro è dire poco❤❤❤
This was on my player all thru the 70's
SUPERBI!!!!
Ma NON diciamo FESSERIE!!!!!!La voce di ROBERT WYATT è incredibile!!!!!!!! Una delle voci più belle e uniche nel panorama Prog Rock!!!!!!! Con Lui altri grandissimi PETER HAMMILL,PETER GABRIEL, ROGER CHAPMAN, GREG LAKE rip, JOHN WETTON rip, JON ANDERSON,JAN ANDERSON, DAVID COUSINS, HOWARD WERTH, STEVIE WINWOOD, PHIL COLLINS, ARTHUR BROWN,CHRIS FARLOWE etc!!!!!!!
Any recs of similarly bizarro stuff from the era? It’s a blind spot I wish to cast light on as this is really great in how not slick it is, it’s wonky n ragged as f n all the more glorious for its unkemptness
Another thing to thank Stewart Lee for, mentioning this in a podcast has opened up an entire new musical world for me
The vocal percussion coming from my mind while listening to this is on a whole nother level.
Is it The Move or is it ELO? It's both and neither. Great song from a great album.
1st 2 were ATOMIC. This is very different.

19 minutes of magic....
Shame Roy didn’t put half a dozen cellos on this track.
He was working up to that. Started with the woodwinds.
Loved this track from the moment I heard it. I still love it. I'm 70 years old.
I’m 74 and right with you.
I’m 70 and I think this album is the most important in my entire collection,
So am I (70) and it might even be my all time favourite piece of music. Loads of people just don’t get it!
Ho dodici anni ancora, da q😂uando 45anni fa lo ascoltai
Vi aspetto tutti giù al bar
my favourite gorky's song
Oh wow i couldn't pick a favourite but its up there among my favourites for sure. Murder Ballad and Freckles from Spanish Dance Troupe is amazing too
Oh wait a minute
9:43 left ear only
Surely this is proto-metal.
Baroque & Roll.
The first two albums of ELO would be considered proto gothic rock
My favourite album of al time.
superb! one of my favourite tracks from one of my favourite albums of all time ❤
nice
A total Masterpiece !
These guys and Gentle Giant are from a different galaxy.
I wouldn't call this a masterpiece or the greatest track of all time but it is certainly enjoyable, interesting and unusual to listen to. I'm a big fan of both prog rock and jazz so I quite like this track
I would call it a masterpiece, once it gets into you there is no going back.
Well. 👀 😮
KOOL
After 50 years still a masterpiece, love it....
Yeah man. Loved this. Ty!
