Started getting into Fireworks and figured I would record my learning experience and let others see what I have tried and how it works. I was going to take videos of my tests anyway so I could refer back to them between shows and figured I may as well post them as others might find them helpful as well. No scripts, no real plan, just me babbling about what is in my head.
I am humbled by all of the support I have been given and how the Pyro community has welcomed me into the fold, sharing knowledge, giving recommendations, and enjoying the demos.

ANY Excuse to break out the bad pirate voice!! I didn't make ya'll listen to it the whole way through though at least! This one had a solid duration, a nice mix of effects.... Never REALLY breaks out with BIG effects though... I would put it right after the 200g fountains IF i got it again... I paid $25 for it.. so not horrible but, there are some better ones out there I think... Get Den Firewo...

I wish I got to send the shells RIGHT up against each other.. but I messed up by not double checking my settings for Talons :( These shells do break a bit lower but they hit SO NICE.... they also break HUGE and have some AWESOME effects!! And scramblers in a shell? Yes Please!! Great mines in all of them, I need to get these again to mess with! Hammer and Anvil made the first sawed off shells, ...

I love crossettes. Such a cool effect especially if you think it's a simple comet. It really surprises you as a spectator. Dominator Pro Level is a regular consumer line?
Yes! Their Pro LEVEL stuff is normal consumer and can just be sold on retail shelves BUT it really is closer to Pro Line performance!! Crossettes are just such a great effect!! Crowd loves them,I love them!! This one is def a keeper!!

Honestly, I am not sure..... I was out picking up an order with Bada Boom and they had JUST gotten a container in from Raccoon with these and some other new cakes, so Lou pulled a bunch of new stuff for me (THANKS LOU!!!!) and just gave me a total price for the pile :(

The cake I was most disappointed with in my show was actually Too Fishy by Winda. I bought a whole case of those suckers, but I didn't want to overdo it, so I just shot half a case - and man what a bummer. Lol. Maybe my expectations were too high, but I thought I'd have fish flying everywhere. Oh well, live and learn. Lol. I think the best fish cake I've ever shot was called Fish in Water by Shogun, and it's a little 2 or 3 dollar nine shot thing - but the fish that come out look fantastic - and travel a good distance. They actually look a lot like these. Maybe a rewrap actually. These ones look pretty good. If the price was right, I'd buy a whole case.

Thanks John!! I am trying to keep putting out some solid demos, and share information when I can!! Honestly, I can't wait to run these in my shows! I like to do a big fake finale, and then start up again with a bunch of quite effect cakes and then ramp the show back up! And I checked out the case price on this one and it comes 48/1 for around $2.50 each.. Oh yeah I could throw fish up EVERYWHERE and then lead into some crossettes over them or horsetails.... I know it's not for everyone, but I really like going from just a big fake out, to nice and quite :)
Fish effect is in my top 5 for sure. Nice little cake. I am not sure its case worthy. I think there is a better fish cake. Overall still solid!!
Oh there are some better fish cakes out there! I got a demo coming of a Dominator ProLine fish only cake! BUT IDK.. for the price of this one though I think it is case worthy.... I just looked and it comes 48/1 and without any discounts looks to be $108.90 so $2.27 a pop.... Yeah I will run with that!! I snagged these three at retail on the 3 for $12 shelf...

SkyBacon does a solid fish cake. I've never shot this one in person but I did shoot their Color Fish one enough to buy a case.

@@dennishughesfireworks9574 Honestly, some of my friends ONLY come to my fountain demo and show nights... some only come for the aerials... Some are like me and come to THEM ALL!!! I have another huge stack of fountains I need to walk through for demos... still shooting intros for them though

WOW those go high even for cans. Very nice, rounded breaks as you mentioned. Good color to them, nothing insane but definitely better than Neon Skies.
Right? They are a pretty solid set of cans, nice mix of effects, AND I did like seeing the symmetry from some cans too!!!
Could have done with a mine effect but the height and especially break spread felt WAY more ideal to me than the "professional" crossettes. You're aware of my opinions on Dominator... I find it hilarious this cake outperforms the "pro" cake on every level for my preferences, except for the absence of mines. Especially since the pro cake likely costs 15% more.
Dominator really is hit or miss... THIS One was a winner I think!! Mines REALLY would of brought it home BUT then it wouldn't of worked for my Pyromusical... I am kicking off the Crossette section of my Pyromusical with 3 of these spaced out 100' between each one and I think its going to be AWESOME (as long as their timing stays some what close)
If these break anything like the Mad Dog 4-pack or whatever it was called, I'm worried. I paid $7.50 for Cerberus out of that set back in 2021 and still felt ripped off LOL I'd be satisfied with this pack if I got it around $40. Nice breaks on Totally Jawsome especially. Pleasantly surprised by this set.
At American Wholesale Fireworks this one was $28.80 (and then I used a 15% off coupon which pays for the shipping and shaves a little more off the price) so I was happy with it!!
That is a weird-ass shape. I love it. World Class used to have a trapezoidal cake, Beware! 15's back in the day that kicked ass. This actually reminded me of that a little. Pinnace breaks _hard_ for a 200. I'll have to look for this one. Any idea what the price was on this guy? Great quality, as Raccoon seems to maintain despite its popularity. Impressive!
I had to get this one DUE to the shape AND the Raccoon tag... They just KEEP putting out quality IMO.... Those mines AND breaks rocked for a 200g cake!!! I paid $15 for it retail so I am thinking case price should be really nice if I can track it down wholesale!! I sent up Nishiki Mine over the 4th (demo coming) and now I REALLY want to run Nishiki Mine with a few of these on the sides!!!!
I need to find some Black Scorpion. We get like zero brand variety here, it sucks. I also get told the same thing about crackle... I keep enjoying it more as I age though lol Fuse seems to ride high on those, with such high breaks it makes sense. Nice broad breaks, good chrysanthemums. Kinda breaks like a 350!
I have a hard time getting Black Scorpion local to me too.... BUT man their stuff seems to HIT and have a nice mix of effects! This was one of the weaker ones by them I thought, and it was still a solid 200g cake! It honestly mostly let me down because I wanted BAD ASS CRACKLE INSANITY!!!! This would be a nice cake to lead into a wall of crackle though I think with its soft crackle! Happy to meet another crackle fan!!!! So most of my Black Scorpion I have gotten from American Wholesale Fireworks, Bada Boom, and OCFireworks if that helps you out at all!
I actually really liked the second set. The whistles are strong, the flying fish looked great especially for a candle break. The initial round was decent. Good pop but expectedly weak color.
Yeah, I really got my hopes up for a nice RWB segment from some 5 ball candles, BUT the colors where weak, and they had small breaks, BUT I would still run them under some other cakes. The second set had AWESOME effects!! Really nice whistles, AND nice fish!
Decent size bore for being simple crossettes. The mine effect was much-needed. Very good color. I honestly would prefer these breaks go lower since they're so small? That way you have something smaller to use as a "baseline" for the medium breaks just above and big-ass breaks way up there. This was better than I expected.
The height shocked the crap out of me... Honestly where some of them broke above canister shells I REALLY want to get more of these and cut them apart and turn them into slices!! With that mine added in?? These would make KILLER SLICES!! For Crossettes the effects where actually really good size, they just went up so dang high LOL They really had nice colors though!
Depending on the price this is pretty good. Lot of flying fish effect in there for a 200. Reminds me of Too Fishy but at less than half the size (and probably price).
I forget what I paid for it... BUT it was at Outlaw Pyro in Nevada, and I remember it wasn't a bad price for retail (OR the area) This scrambling effect is ALL over this year, and I am loving seeing it around more!!
I don't think MagValue has good aerials, but I have yet to find a crap fountain from them (besides the #3 cone). Great price on this, especially for the performance. You would really enjoy their Monsoon Jungle box fountain as well. I used to be able to get that for like $2.75 and was delighted to find it was a 4-tuber. Haven't seen it in a couple years but I imagine it's still out there. Grab one if you see it!
I tried a couple of the MagValue cakes out when I was at Goldfields in Nevada and they where.... Ok... The price WAS right though!! All of the Mag Value fountains I have tried have really surprised me though!! GREAT!! Another one to add to my list LOL Man it NEVER seems to get shorter!!
