I’d love to take one of your upholstery classes. When will the next one be held?
Classes are semi private . Please call or email and we can schedule you in. They are usually Saturday mornings. Thanks
Younger generations nowadays lacks discipline and work ethics. I can relate that.
Do you have a video making the rumble seat side panels?
We do not . We do have one in the shop now and will see if we can . Thanks for watching .
Thanks. I was thinking of ridding my 30 roadster, but it been in the family since around 1949 or 1950 and my dad gave it to me. He started on it and to honor him I am finishing it.
I have the walcom slim kombat I use for sealer. it shot base and clear just fine 25 psi 1.3 using a Devilbiss regulator Small fan around 9 inches I just got a used carbonio 360 hvlp for base. 28 psi then 24 for control coats. Atomizes well. Love it!!Done about 7 jobs with it I have noticed that I should not have the needle full throttle That could be the issue. Analog regulator and start out 2 1/2 turns out on the throttle. Some guys say they bump up the psi to nearly 40 on the clearcoat I’m waiting on the alluminio to arrive for clear so I’ll let you know. Don’t take the way walcom reps in the USA talk…. It’s a European thing🤣🤣🤣 they always sound serious 🤣🤣
Attention, soon all gas cars will be banned in USA and EU!!!!
It’s happening in the HVAC industry too. Don’t feel bad. Buy your China sourced HVAC stuff online. When you need it repaired good luck. There’s no warranty and you’ll end up paying a lot more to have it repaired, if you can find someone. So guess what happens after 5 to 10 years when you’re fancy, communicating, unrepairable electronic filled system breaks down? It goes to the scrapyard and they buy a new system from China again.

If you can't do anything but you want a custom car, who cares. You're a douche canoe.
This video is stupid. None of this even sounds true. What really happened was the internet. Now the DIY guys and everyone else can just go on the internet and buy anything they could possibly imagine and more directly from everyone else. You're making up this big complicated flow chart for literally no reason. See my giant chart here, it says the economy and the world changed over the last 50 years, and you can see because of these boxes and arrows that it's all XXX places fault. No. Everything just changed, and now you're trying to make a living creating UA-cam videos so you had to make up a big dumbass chart to fill space in your video...
2:00 and all I have heard was a bunch of bullshit I don't care about. You got one more minute and I'm out.
Hi Jim, Thanks for your two minutes. This video wasn't meant for everyone, just the people who are in our industry. Keep on truck'n big guy. Thanks for watching.
Technical AV is good. Nice background, although the marker Board needs to be a little bigger and have a little more contrast. It really helped. Disappearing graphics don't illustrate the supply chain as well, too hard to visualize. A good lecture. Lot's of knowledge to digitize here.
What is that cover over the transmission tunnel? It looks amazing
Long seat
Need clore green cloth and vylini
Need floor green vilyni and cloth
I have a 1970 that came with the 454. Have owned the car for 36 years. Took the body off the frame, and in the process of a full restoration. Looking forward to watching this project and excited to see the next part of the process.
Good story; we run an upholstery shop in the Virgin Islands. We have some similar troubles as you pointed out, but most of the customer issues and attitudes come from NEW customers, who expect us to drop everything so they can get their orders done tomorrow, if not today. UH UGH buddy! We are a small, high demand shop also priding our work, and nothing gets done very quickly either by us or anyone else in the Caribbean. We try our best, and don't use "Island Time" as an excuse because it is pretty lame-but we tend to be booked up for 4-6 months. They don't seem to get that. Funniest part of all, is they don't realize it is an ongoing process-they find out our first available slot is in March, so February 15 they assume that is still possible! No-that was the story back in October, Now we will get you started in September. We don't like the pressure either. We put enough pressure on ourselves, making sure the quality stays high, which means if we put something together and it's not good enough, we are tearing it down or starting over--eating the hours on our own time. Your customers not understanding the health scare and hospitalization is a reflection on what has happened to society. That would have been unbelievable 30 years ago. I know, been a small business owner since 1985. Best of luck to you. We enjoy your videos, and hope you go wherever you want to with the business!
I'm a custom shop and I'm moving away from customers; they hold me back too much. These cars are $400,000 and up; that kind of money makes a one-off.
i agree with everything you say my friend
I am glad you are alive & well!!!
Glad to see you're healthy and still rolling.
You sound like me. Ready to snap. Running an upholstery shop ain't easy good customers are the best.
Your frustrations are normal and everyday for all of us . I am always working to inform our customers of what is and whats next as well as cost.. My father started our company in 1966 and He enjoyed rebuilding cars and attracted those like him .. I took over 49 years ago, took the company in new directions. Our oldest son is now 50 Years old and is running the company daily. He wants me to retire .. But I resist !! 😉 He too is taking the company in his own direction .. Great video Thank You I love that Gold Metallic Vinyl ...1960,s all the way
Well , I know exactly where you are coming from. I don't do customer seats or interior anymore. It seems like their lack of a planning is always my emergency 😂😂. Not anymore. What I do now is look for seats 💺on Marketplace or swap meets that I can customize and resell. Totally change the look of the seats and make them one of's. Vinyl, Leather, however the vinyl sell faster. Now I work at my pace. Keep up the good work 👏
I really appreciate your video-I watched it twice! You explain that you tested various gels. Can you please share a link for the orthopedic-quality gel you are using? I have spent time searching to no avail.
Thank you for your knowledge and wisdom. What machine and equipment could you recommend for someone wanting to have a go?
@@arniet1 I have been told by many to contact NC Carpet in New Jersey . They are extremely knowledgeable.

Do you sale and ship seat covers ???
@@philliphall5198 no we do not. Thanks for watching.
Wish you would do my seat 😮
MTD makes terrible seats
Good news! It takes a real man to know his limitations and adapt and overcome. Stay focused, one customer at a time. Don’t over sell yourself to mentally and physicall drain yourself!! looking forward to more how to videos..
Dirty sandwiches is the normal
Razor blades do get worse year over year wth
You never mention source but I can guess from similar problems. Just now I was struggling to get my front seat back on a bench for my 4 door sedan, and after no-fit, I measured and many of the panels are over an inch-and-a-half short! These cost a ton and the wait was nearly 2 years (20 months) I did order extra vinyl and it does not really match. I do not have a professional sewing machine either, just a very old Kenmore portable I'm going to have to make work AGAIN. I already had to re-do the back seat back. (SMS in Ore.)
Nice work!
Your website is down
@@OGChadney we are in the process of completely changing it. It will be back up this week. Took a little longer than expected . Thanks
Thanks for that. I’ve just got one for my Trident. 👍
Hey what’s up guys !? I’m trying to find someone to upgrade the seat on my hard tail, I’m local to your shop, I have the seat pan but man I need some more padding. Is this something you guys can do ?
I made my first seat cover a few years ago from your videos, coming back to relearn and make another. Some really good information, thank you!
What size staples do you use?
You make very good videos - explaining everything as you go along. I've subbed and am going to see what else you've posted. thanks.
Watch me try this on my $100 Singer! Yep, it will be fine.
Good luck. If you have any questions we are here to help. Thanks
I bought the gel pad. Would it be mistake if I placed gel on top of seat then added a thin layer of leather as a cover? Rather not do the full seat surgery.
the problems you will run into is you will feel the edge of the gel and most likely make it less comfortable. Also it will look really bad.
Would buying an old cabinet singer type sewing machine work if i was to try my hand at this?
Man..that was really cool show and tell. You should take those samples and show those seams on a Mercedes or high Quality seats in cars or even Boats interior! it is true: if you know stuff you see more and can identify quality work! Well done! Greetings from Germany sends CarpenterBea
Thank you very much for watching .
Hello, I came across your channel while trying to come up with ideas for my 1988 Volvo 244 DL door panels.. they are original non-waterproof floppy cardboard style, covered with vinyl and cloth.. You have inspired me, I thank you... I wouldn't mind making my own door panel using the original as a template... My dilemma is the panel top curves, then protrudes inward towards the glass, thus making a lip that has a window weather strip attached and a hole for the (push pull style) lock knob.. Can you lead me to one of your videos, regarding this style of panel.. This panel has two rectangular pieces of metal attached to the back, acting as a guide and a lip to hold the panel in place before pushing in all tabs. I have little talent in this area, but lots of ambition.
@@chadgama we have two of the wagons in the shop. I’ll check tomorrow and see what you’re talking about. We might even do a video about it for you. Thanks and thanks for watching
Not really what the video is about, but I was just wondering why half the cars on the road when I was a kid had vinyl tops, then they just vanished. No one talks about them; no one remembers. In fact, there's nothing on UA-cam about the history. Strikes me as very odd. I am not saying I want a vinyl top, but they still look pretty snappy.
@@pluggy86 most people don’t like them and very few people can install them .
It's called a ford transit. Might get more hits with proper title.
I live right here in Connecticut was wondering what you would charge for this exact seat I’m the same height
@@ryanmahoney5311 prices very depending on specifics but usually around 950. Thanks
So the gel is great but what about the ones that have the little bubble that move with your body
@@lisacasiello2453 we experimented with the years ago. They were mainly used on top of the seat. Most people didn’t like the look, they also didn’t last that long as they couldn’t hold air and less than 5% of our customers were happy with them . We couldn’t confidently sell them .
