Here we have a hymn turned folk song. Originally written in German in 1639 by Georg Reimann. Translated into Swedish by Jesper Swedberg in 1694.

This hymn was written by Martin Luther 1524. The video is from a Divine Service in Stockholm, Högalid congregation, 1950. Neither English nor German is my first language, although I have a decent grasp of both. I have done the best I could with this translation. Hopefully the hymn's meaning is conveyed decently. Veni Redemptor gentium, written in the fourth century by Bishop Ambrose of Milan. It was translated into Swedish by "Sweden's reformer" Olaus Petri in 1536. Written by the german Lutheran theologian Philipp Nicolai in 1599. Translated into Swedish by bishop Petrus Jonæ Angermannus in 1604. "Eja" is an interjection (like Alas) witch express a spontaneous feeling of longing. An exact translation does not exist in English (to my knowledge), which is why I used the Swedish word. Is there any conservative lutheran church in europe except for the Estonian Church? Looks like all of then are progressivist and liberal.
I think you mean the Latvian Church? It is conservative, the Estonian church not so much. The Slovaks are based too. But yes, the larger historic Lutheran churches are unfortunately liberalized to a large extent, although there are some conservative congregations here and there. But there are conservative groups and offshoots all over the place. So it is not a problem to find a conservative congregation if you really want to.

Yeah, that seems to be a more poetic translation. This translation is more literal.

Now it’s the own Sweden that need missionaries
Yes. The Swedish Lutheran Church Missionsprovinsen were able to ordain new bishops and priests thanks to the Kenyan bishop Walter Obare. His church in turn is the result of Swedish missionary efforts. There are many parts, but one body. The body strengthens the parts that are weak, as it should be.

I am from Brazil, and want to get into Lutheranism... I am already a baptized Christian, but I am feeling God calling me each day more into Lutheranism...
