Hi, lve owned a 2017 ktm300 too, great bike. The suspension on the Sherco just feels so good. The power the Sherco makes is great too. I love my Sherco's above the other bikes I own/ride. You can't go wrong with a Sherco, but in saying that, sometimes the dealer network you have aroumd you can factor into your choice.

This particular video is Akamas, west of Pafo. A few of our trails are also north of Pafo as you head to Panagia. Im from South Africa, Cypriot parents, and have been living in Pafo now for 13 years.

Hi, yeah the 250's generally do feel lighter, and the engines feel a bit more lively. I do feel that there's a small difference in torque but at my weight, 150lbs, it doesn't affect me. Id imagine heavier riders feel the difference more. This particular 250 has an S3 head on it to help with a bit more torque.

They both make nice smooth power, good clutches too!

Yes! Love the bike, I only weigh 155lbs...so haven't found the need to gear her down, although I know it only helps and flaming out is mitigated too.

For sure yes! It would be slightly more difficult, just so long as you have good leverage from the ground, meaning seat height and you aren't on your tippy toes to start with. If its a dual sport bike, dual sport tyres on loose ground might make it more difficult too, you want good traction.

I was using the Cardo Neo, the other 3 were using the Cardo Edge. My Neo was connected to my phone/app for audio recording.

Hopefully soon we will join again for a good ride!

I did have my Huski with me this day and I couldn't notice much of a difference switching between the two. However some riders do say the Sherco's counter balancer is not as refined as the Austrian brands...I might just be too insensitive to it..

Thanks bud, this is in the Pafos region, , island of Cyprus. Agreed about the tracks, we do have dedicated loops, but those particular play areas are a free for all. In saying that though, our terrain is less like top soil, more like a silty sand...when it rains a lot of the lightly used tracks disappear.

Hi Nikolas, Im still riding it, just havent done video worth uploading on it. I last rode it 3 weeks ago, and actually I did run low on fuel(maybe around 40 miles), it definitely does not go as far as the regular bikes on a full tank. However, in saying that, its not far off. I will do a re-review on it soon as I have added a few things to it. I'm actually planning a shootout between 2 of our 3 Sherco's, the xtrainer, the Huski....and a bike that no one has seen yet(secret until the video is ready). Its going to be an awesome hill climb challenge best of 2 runs per bike, we'll see how they stack up against the xtrainer.

@@ridex-cyprus 40miles sounds awfully low tbh, was thinking about one but this might be a deal breaker, got anything for sale from all those bikes? :P

You can alao buy a larger tank for the xtrainer.

Yup, these skills will help you transition to slow wheelies for sure. Since you are learning some clutch control along with covering the rear brake...as well as where the balance point is.

Thanks bud! The fast climbs where 3rd gear. The slow climbs where I crawl it up need 1st gear.

what gearing do you use? I use a 13/52, which is very good on tight singletrack.

Im ashamed to say Im not sure...will check and reply. It is stock, I know that much. I also ride an Xtrainer, a 2t Sherco and a Huski, I think they all stock gearing. I usually just work out if the bike prefers 1st ir 2nd for certain situations and then just go with that. But now you got me thinking...maybe shorter gearing might be better for my riding type.

I have the same bike, it came with 13/48. Most of my riding is tight singletrack and hardenduro, and it works very well, but if I go on open trails it loses a little top speed. But on climbs it also works very well. but to get a bigger rear sprocket you have to put a bigger chain, the original is short. You can use a 12 front sprocket instead.

and with this gearing it is more difficult to stall. Good rides bud

Hi, its the same, just hang your butt cheek off the right side of the seat, but I would say learning left side first is easier, so get comfortable going left, and once you are comfortable with the skill, your reliance on covering the rear brake is not needed.

Great riding I have the same bike I love my 21 300sef. I did add a Rekluse to fix my issues with flaming out in tight technical terrain. For and guy in his mid 40s who is an intermediate rider it has made a world of difference.
