I tried last week and today, and I managed to do 40 reps the first time, 42 today, in sets of 4~6 reps. It is much harder than I thought ! Gonna stick with the challenge until I hit 50. I think good planning of rest times is key.

The city I live in has shitty pull-up bars like that too! It's a form of corruption. A simple pull-up bar isn't expensive enough, so they order special patented contraptions with all sorts of curlicues built in and you have no room to do bar pullovers or muscle-ups, but someone's brother-in-law gets rich!

Some tips that may help you. -Warm up your scapula (scapula pull-ups) before doing the pull-ups -When you do the pull-ups engage your scapula and tighten your core and glutes (hollow body) -Keep your legs slightly in front of you and hold them still -And instead of thinking of pulling up, think of pushing the bar down Other than that good stuff

Great stuff man, but when you’re doing weighted pull ups I recommend you put your legs towards at the bottom to hold the plate still so it doesn’t move around.

I have never been able to do a complete one. I managed to teach myself to do 3/4 of one years back and was working toward doing a full pull up but then I developed arthritis.
