Personally I’m not one to judge anyone because that’s not my place. Thats God’s job to judge. As humans whenever we point the finger at someone there’s always three fingers pointing back. Chris Benoit is my favourite wrestler. I don’t believe he did what he did. I believe he was murdered, most likely a blood sacrifice ritual that was turned into a homicide as a coverup. Nonetheless it’s tragic that three people lost their lives that day. It doesn’t affect my perception of him as a performer. He was a consummate wrestler. Had a great work ethic, he added a sense of grit and realism to his matches. His matches are so authentic, his technical precision and overall athleticism was flawless. His victory winning the world title at WM20 was the original - “finishing the story” long before it became Cody’s journey. Cant believe we are approaching 20 years since his passing. Benoit will always be a legend in my eyes.

I can't imagine someone on a stage stumbling for good things to say about a murderer during a hall of fame induction speech. Benoit should never be inducted into the hall of fame, not even as a footnote.

I remember an article, from one of the wrestling magazines in the 90s, talking about how when he worked the Memphis territory, there was a young man without Downs syndrome and Sid would invite him front row every time. I wish I could remember more of the article but I remember after that, I never saw him in the same light again. I was maybe 12 and wrestling was still real to me, but that article made me see Sid as more than a character. I saw an awesome human. RIP Sid. Thank you.
