    savings for emergecies and investing for building wealth

    My philosophy is a bit of balance. Invest with the mindset of having a long time horizon. Savings to ensure you are able to handle emergency financial burdens whilst taking advantage on any half decent savings rates that are slowly creeping back - might not be as good as investing it, but at least it’s accessible and earmarked for potential upcoming expenses. Great videos 🤓

      100% agree with investing is crucial for growing. For me saving is good for those purchases you may want but don’t really need. But then once you have the money saved, think of the returns you could get on those savings from investing and not buying the thing😂

    The value, the value man! Every year inflation eats up the money. That saving of half a mill or whatever will buy you a candy bar in 40 years. 8-10% minus fees minus inflation you preserve your money and earn a bit

    That is crazy how correct the assumption is that the most expensive age of your life is 31 (in my case anyway). Between 31 - 33 I had a baby, had a wedding and bought a flat. It has taken a long time to recover financially from it all but as soon as I realised my accounts were in the equivalent of an ICU I took steps to restore and build my savings and work properly on a good deposit for a larger home rather than rushing into what I thought was a good deal.

      I think it just depends on the area and type of property you want. I know a few of my friends from work have bought flats for around the 400k mark with 10% deposits. It’s just hard for a lot of people to get that initial balance saved - but that’s for the next video😉

    Interesting debate, but perhaps very complicated. I'm early 40s, with less money than suggested, but my house is paid off, and my pension fund is well funded. Ive priorised mortgage and pension because if i was made redundant the UK gov would force me to spend accessible savings before giving me much support should i need it.

    • @lewisgarland3337
      @lewisgarland3337 21 день тому

    I transfer a small amount from my Current Account into a basic savings account with the same Bank. Using the Banks APP I look at my Account Balance then transfer the last three digits ( last whole pound plus the pennies ) sideways into this other Account. I do this every other day. The amounts are so small I do not feel it. However over time this builds up. I now have enough saved for most emergencies ( within reason ). Works for me..

    How tf you manage to have so much expenses living with your parents lmfao, get the business you work for to pay your travel expenses, that's all write offs for them, if you're a sole trader you can do the same, and also would reduce your personal liability and reduce overall taxes through utilising dividends if you set up an LLC, lol. Maybe you should use these videos to educate yourself on how fucked your finances really are compared to where you could and should be, lmao. You could have a 50% deposit for a house in under 2 years with that salary if you just stop being stupid. Bro I'm appalled, astounded, baffled, at how you've managed to get to 1.6k monthly expenses while living with parents, paying them nothing for rent and not even helping for food shopping? That's crazy..... No one should be listening to this guy for financial advice lmao

    • @samuilplamenov4749
      @samuilplamenov4749 2 місяці тому

      It would be worse. You would share a flat with strangers. Council tax and bills go up. Your rent goes up. Everytime you move area a new gym membership costs you more. Everytime you move you need to spend £500 for cleaning and moving costs. At home food and restaurants are cheaper and there’s less stuff to do so you end up spending less and being more active in nature.

    • @greedyboi011

      @@samuilplamenov4749 Yh rent is just the beginning. Its groceries, beers, gym membership, transport (if you have a car - horrendously so), etc. It'd be £800 just rent absolute minimum for a shared flat, unless you live in croydon in which case the commute is practically the same. He's 25 and clearly working hard and don't blame him for taking advantage of his background, but people like this seem very blind to the extent of their privilege. I can already see the future video coming "how i bought a house in London before I was 30", *spoiler* I saved £700 a month on expenses by living at my parents cushty house on the edge of town.

    Why not find someone renting out an extra room in London???????? Hotels and eating out ALL THE TIME is e-x-pensive per month! And maybe you can write it off as an expense on your taxes against your income, since it's needed in order for you to make a living - talk to an accountant......
