God's thirst for blood - The Law Explained
David is one of my favorite speakers regarding such a complicated historical topic, he explains it well for the layman. Thank you.
You don't realize how much you need the doctrine of Faith Alone until you have seen the weight of your sin. Luther realized this.
I felt a deep unease when people I had listened to spoke with political vitriol.
Alhumdulilah for Islam
Oh please… to begin with you’ve put early Christian beliefs over the real theology of the Bible. That’s not how it works, so your basis for the video is already dead in the water. Good luck in the future.
IF Is such a small word but with a huge black and white difference.
American christianity. Endless talking about doctrine. What does it mean to be saved? Is a child drawn out of the water saved? Yes but it needs cloth. If it gets cloth it needs a home and it needs food and it needs an education and so on. Paul: For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also you have received, and in which you stand; By which also you ARE SAVED, if you keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless you have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve ... Here we have the gospel, The saving Gospel!
It was arbitrarily that God chose Abraham and not the philistines. God's Word keeps somethings hidden from those who do not want to see God's ways as revealed by His Word. Trust in God's ways and you will have no fear or confusion.
Romans 9:22-23
It really is both - our own faith in Jesus saves us, and we're saved by faith alone. Simultaneously, God predestined his elect to be saved by faith. People go on and on in circles about this and it is understandably hard to wrap our heads around, but looking at all the scriptures on this topic I really can't come to any conclusion other than that BOTH are simultaneously true.
Lutherferian lol
Before the creation of flesh man,we would have been predestined one way or the other. When Satan drew 1/3 of the Stars (children of God) ,that 1/3 would have been condemned to the lake of fire with Satan (son of prediction), rather than kill 1/3 of his children, God created flesh man ,to be born innocent of woman to choose to fallow God or Satan. This is the age we now live in, the next age is knocking at the door. Before we complain about how things are going on now, we should ask ourselves what we might have done in that first age that contributed to the mess we got ourselves into.
What document are they talking about?
Jesus said this word at the last supper TO HIS FATHER
I agree with you...this is ridiculous. However, don't rate all people who you classify as dispensational according to Robert Breaker. For instance, I know some Christ Church amillennialist who split over the Lords prayer because some felt the Kingdom was already here. Therefore, they claimed we shouldn't be asking for "the Kingdom to come". I know you don't believe that way...just saying, painting others into a box because of what one individual says doesn't mean everyone else holds to the position that you have labeled them as being.
Bless you for this message, it’s so encouraging to witness brothers in faith preach with a true and believing heart.
This clip doesn’t seem to let Dean finish his thought at all. Hard to tell what he’s getting at.
These two in the paper boat... so cute! 🥰
My first hearing of this. I searched it and started reading it. What seemed odd was it mentioned penny as in a coin. How could a penny be named then?
Did Jesus promise baptism to the woman from Samaria?
Not inspired? If the Apostles were inspired and if the Didache was the true teaching of the Apostles, than why can't it be inspired?
I don't understand why modern Christians won't use the didache as an example of how we should live
"Just think if the church would have kept those things" (you- Speaking of the Sermon on the Mount) The church has kept all those things and more. All that the law demanded, all that the Prophets pointed to, all the words of Jesus on the Sermon on the Mount, all His teachings to the disciples and the crowds, to deny yourself, hate your life, take up your cross, cut off the offending member, forgive 70×7 fold, lose your life to find it; and even the instructions to the rich young ruler: to keep the law, sell all and give it to the poor and follow Jesus (And where was Jesus going? To death, even on a cross. It's ALL still here as it was then. It was even summed up by Peter on the day of Pentecost, when the people crying, said, "What shall we do?" Peter then said all the above, all that was taught that must be done; but he used gospel words: "Repent and be baptized FOR the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit..." Juxtapose the rich young ruler whom Jesus told to keep the law, sell all, give all, and follow Him, with the Ethiopian eunuch in the book of Acts. The rich young ruler couldn't do the word of Jesus and went away grieved. The Ethiopian "did" all that was proclaimed to him through being done onto in baptism, and he went his way rejoicing. In baptism, the Ethiopian denied himself, his own righteousness. He cut off the offending member. He let the dead bury their own dead and followed Jesus, being buried by Him and with Him in His death. He died with Christ through baptism. He lost his life to find it... He was made a new creation in Christ. See Jesus' own baptism. He was baptized in water by John and apart from John's hands, but still in the water, came the eternal Spirit in the form of a Dove; and there also came the voice of the Father declaring the Son. This is the Spirit baptism. We are baptized, given the Spirit, and adopted by the Father, being Born of water and Spirit. It was at creation, the omnipresent eternal Spirit hovered over the waters. It was at Jesus' baptism that the Spirit came down on the Living water (Jesus) and it is in our baptism that we are clothed with Christ.
In need of listening to this! Thank you 🙏🏻
Spirit of rebellion leads to sin.
All the apostles baptize in Jesus Name Acts 2:38. The only baptism is in Jesus Name.
I have a suspicious feeling that you’re awaiting this quote and you have a response ready. Matthew 28:18-20 New King James Version 18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go [a]therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” [b]Amen. Apologies if I was wrong about my assumptions.
I myself came from a church that was very specific on this topic, that what they called “Jesus’ name baptism” was the only valid baptism. I agree that it is a valid baptism, but I also believe the entire given Scripture. Jesus Himself instructed baptism in the “NAME” (singular) of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Therefore, when we baptize in the NAME of Jesus and in the NAME of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, we are validly baptizing as instructed. We worship One God who has Holy Name! We all ought to baptize in this all-powerful Name!
For those curious…a common response in that church was “Ok, but when you say NAME, what NAME is it? It’s ’Jesus,’ God’s revealed Name in the New Testament.” So they would in essence say, “I baptize you in Jesus in Jesus’ Name” at baptism. Again, in my understanding, I don’t find that particularly incorrect, but I find we should not throw out Jesus’ own teaching on how to baptize in His Name!
The way I understand it the Bible is the ultimate authority and anything added to that can be baggage. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the Didache. It’s just when someone wants to present it as the authority of scripture or equal authority with scripture. That’s when I take issue with an outside source
I mean you all are really. If you claim to be, then you are. I’m agnostic and happy with that.
Amen
In 2002 I was baptized, totally immersed once in a swimming pool and was immediately healed from epileptic seizures (24 yrs) and cigarette addiction of 25 years. Forever grateful.
The apographa New Testament is very interesting 🤔
JW's say one nail through both hands, this is wrong. John 20:25 “The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.”
Eternal life is a gift , eternal means forever. "Maintaining your salvation by obedience to the commandments is works righteousness and placing oneself back under the law and thus presenting our own righteousness to God and not Christs righteousness which is imputed to us on account of faith in his blood" What standard of obedience is to be maintained that is acceptable to God for eternal life? Perfection is the answer. Therefore My future rests not on my obedience but on Christs obedience, not on my sanctification, but Christ is my sanctification, not my righteousness but Christ is my Righteousness not my redemption but Christ is my redemption. It's sobering to see how early "works righteousness" crept into the church undermining "the righteousness of God which is by the faith of Jesus Christ" The word "believe" is redefined by those advocating works. The word believe is not "obedience" but is a simple form of action , in a moment of time - believe; is to be convinced , trust , something to be true. "He who believes in me hath eternal life and shall never perish but has passed from death unto life" The presentation is at the core Roman Catholicism doctrine for salvation.
I would literally pay to hear either of you talk to the Ante-Nicean Christianity Channel. Luke/Nolan/Christian. I thought Bercot was going to but it never played out.
@ezrajeremiah8631 It would be great if something like this could happen. We appreciate the brothers there and their zeal for living out early Christianity. However, it doesn't seem that they appreciate what we're doing, so it's hard to see how we could have a constructive conversation with them. -Lynn
@SoundFaithChannel I totally understand. I find myself in between both sides. Did Bercot just not want to after hearing how they spoke to Jason/Daniel?
@@ezrajeremiah8631 David gets so many requests for conversations that we try not to take up his time with any unproductive ones, as this was. We appreciate these brothers, and we agree with them on so many issues that it's hard for us to understand why they have acted so antagonistically. I get that these are issues where it can be hard to judge which position is right. You're very welcome to reach out to us privately if you have any questions you'd like to discuss: soundfaithchannel [at] gmail [dot] com.
Certainly one of the things that I try to share but so many want to shun anything that is not Bible only. It seems that they don't want their denominational dogma disturbed.
He was right, according to the Bible that is the very reason Jesus Christ had to become The Son Of Man, His favorite title for himself. He had to become the second Adam according to 1Corinthians 15:21-23. Because only the second Adam could keep all the commandments, that is why He said at the cross” it is finished” Now our goal is not to work at keeping a written law. The New Testament speaks of God’s goal for believers is to become transformed into the image or character Romans 8:29, 2 Corinthians 3:18, And the fruit of the Spirit transforms us into the image of Christ. So don’t be confused my brethren, when the New Testament speaks of us the church keeping the commandments, it means that we put the Words of christ into practice. James says it this way, James 1:22 Be a doer of the Word and not a hearer only, deceiving your own self. Jesus said it this way, why do you call me Lord, Lord, and do not do the things I say. So if you try to make it to heaven by trying to keep the Ten Commandments you will not make it. No one can. If you can do it, then you don’t need our savior Jesus Christ. ❤️🙏
Pretty sure that ain't in the bible
By the Lord's Help we have a burden for the Catholic/Protestant followers to come to know all these Truths!! They are blind and deceived people. And we long for them to AWAKE TO RIGHTEOUSNESS!! And Not Sin!! It is a HUGE MISSION FIELD!!!!
Wow. As often as we observe the Lord's table, I don't think that I heard anyone talk about 'eucharist' before.
Where is the link to the full talk?
Probably Martin Luther. Also, in my humble opinion, people "study the Bible" unchecked by themselves and develop a whole lot of wacky teachings thats why we need wise elders and preachers and teachers to disciple us into good servants of our God. Transparency and honesty is encouraged in the scriptures.
Lmao not a protestant making this argument. Go find me a church that taught the Protestant understanding of sola fide anywhere in the first millenium.
Praise Jehovah God!!!
What's 2 kingdom?
Wow!
Can you link your sources? (I totally agree but I can always use more sources!) 😅
Thanks for challenging these types of teachings .
It is enough for me to read carefully what Paul wrote in 1 Cor 11 concerning the covering and also the exclamation point on the topic of orderly worship (abuse / over-emphasis on miraculous gifts) and the role of women in the assembly in 1 Cor 14:35-38.
We aim to gently guide people back to the divine order that God has established.
We aim to gently guide people back to the divine order that God has established.
@@SoundFaithChannel So is there not a gentle way to encourage a return to the actual scriptures? Was Paul not gentle enough, or Stephen (Luke / Acts 7) ...or Jesus? Shall we make tents for Moses, Elijah ....or Luther, Calvin, Knox, the Wesley's, ...Menno and so on or shall we hear His Beloved Son and those He specifically chose and inspired through the Helper that He sent whose writings and teachings comprise His New (Will and) Testament?
When individuals who claim to follow figures like Luther or Calvin are unaware of certain doctrines, it can be eye-opening to discover that these leaders often held beliefs very different from what they assume. There are many ways to guide people back to the truth. Watch the entire sermon and determine for yourself-did I rely on Scripture, or did I only quote these historical figures? History is important. Not all people read scripture alone and come up with what was originally intended especially with the confusion of so many wolves in sheep’s clothing.
@SoundFaithChannel You did rely on the scriptures, yes. I suppose my points merely emphasized yours with the added observation / assertion that neither of us intended to be harsh. All roads lead back to the original text... the Divine revelation if one continues to seek the plain truth. Of that I think we agree. Having been raised in the reformation traditions, I eventually became curious as to what it meant to reform ...what the movement was seeking to reform. What I was able to determine was that it was the global institution in view - to use Scripture (and largely the doctrines of Augustine) to defy the illegitimate claims and abuses of the papacy on the lives of Roman subjects (all of whom were required by law to "convert" or conform). While admirable, it stops short of wiping the slate clean and ~restoring the original faith and traditions of the actual apostles chosen by Christ (the only Head of His Church). To endeavor to do so would be akin to Josiah finding the book in the Temple ruins and rending his clothes in lamentation and repentance in consideration of what the "nation" had become. Josiah set about tearing down the idols and practices inconsistent with the Book. While the NT principle of grace seasoned with salt must yet apply, the objective and exclusive appeal to original Divine authority still seems in order.
This guy has NO argument and he uses NO scripture. This shows how little he and other pastors understand. Look at the murderer Calvin or read the late writings of Luther. Look at Ravi Zacharias, Steve Lawson and many others. Has he refuted anything? No.
Yes, he has refuted dispensationalism. In addition to this, he addresses and refutes it more comprehensively in many other lessons
I thought the Shepherd of Hermas really 'raised the bar' on holy living
