I am praying for all those with RHD. My son is suffering with strep right now and is taking antibiotics after 3 days. I pray he recovers soon. Be encouraged and know God is able to help us in our time of need. I intend to raise awareness and funding to help those dealing with this awful disease. God bless you.

God bless your child and may his health go back into 100% perfect health and stay healthy and free of sickness and worry and peace for you, in God's name! Do you live in a cold area or warm? I've suffered with bad throat issues for many years! When ever I visit a warm place like Florida or the Caribbean... The first day I feel absolutely better! No medicine, no hot teas, no cough pills... Instant relief and completely feeling healed and normal. If you do live in a warm or humid area... Please get your child tested for allergies! There might be certain chemical as of you live near as laundry or dry cleaners or maybe a factory with a big chimney smoking all day or innocent looking plants in or near the house that may not affect you the mother, but affects only your child! Combine that with a weather change and guess what? There that fever and painful throat again! Please consider those options and also scheduling gargles with salt water or getting saline nose flushing every few days even if no symptoms and every hour or two when symptoms start... That helps so much! Ask your child's doctor but do mention all the things I mentioned here and he might agree... I felt misery for many years and finally I'm able to manage but so many years of suffering ... Best of wishes!

Strep throat should be treated for 10 days not a week. Undertreating it can lead to RF and RHD.

Its been a wild ride. Amazing I even made it this far on my own.. I pray for healing. But I expect death. Soon.. Yet, I refuse to take my own life since I lost my mother to that. I will SUFFER until the very most painful thrashing lonely weeping end. Then my soul is in God's hands.

Me too , but I guess the most painful thing about having this disease is that depression because you don't have the freedom to do what you want and ended up being insecure.

I have heart disease but I dont know what to do. I am the bread winner of my family, my parents dont have any regular source of income but I have mine. I am employed. however if I entertain my illness and seek medical attentions, for sure I will loose my job because mine is already a worse case. I need surgery. I really dont know what to do. I really feel sad for myself, ny future and my family.

I'm watching this video for research purposes. My mother died in 1958 because she had Rheumatic Fever as a child in the 30's. It damaged her heart. As a Roman Catholic, she and my father practiced "family planning", which needless to say, doesn't work and had eight children. Warned by specialists and our family doctor to cease having children, unwilling to use birth control, the babies kept coming. At the age of 34, she died in labor with her eighth child. The baby died shortly thereafter. Rheumatic Heart Disease is a killer.

I believe I have stumbled upon what it is...and how to get it out of our bodies. It will take some investment of time, energy, and research. I had Rheumatic Fever as a child and was told that I now have RHD. That was 2-2013. I was given a prognosis that was not hopeful at all...but here I am, still alive. My heart still beats. My joints are not as swollen...don't believe the doctors when they tell us we won't make it. Even impossible odds can be made possible. Waking up soaking wet from the night sweats led to me cutting off all my hair (2 years)...as it improves, so will my hair style. :)
