Five Ethels in one day! And my LONGEST walk ever - do I survive!!!
It's a bit of a greatest hits this week. I take in High Wheeldon, Chelmorton Low, Sough Top, Carder Low and Pilsbury Hill. I've spent quite a lot of time in and around this area in previous videos so watch out for links to flashbacks from our back catalogue.

    Hi i dont have this tent i have the carins 4dlx so slightly bigger and after taking it out i did a trial run set up was fine but for the life of me cant get back in , it also comes in two parts however a lot bigger and the bag is tiny . Any tips on getting it in ?

    • @bushcraftdavetrangia
      @bushcraftdavetrangia 7 днів тому

      @freyatoth7841 thank you for you message. When you have got the tent down and laid out flat. Fold the tent in like you might fold a tshirt. The aim really is the final width when folding in, before you roll up, should be about the width of the bag with the poles in. Then put the pole bag on top and roll the tent around the pole bag keeping it tight. To be fair this is often a problem with putting tents away, and I have in the past found tent bags that are too small when putting tents away. In these cases I just use a different bag, such as a supermarket canvas type carrier bag. Hope you have some joy in getting the tent away.

    We've been using one of those gas stoves for just over a year now and it's still going strong. Similar pan set too, and a load of those little condiment bottles in the fridge. For an occasional camper who is on a budget, it really is pretty goo gear. (Bought some of our stuff from AliExpress though, so slightly more expensive)

  • @BoxTunnel

    Just bought some of the condiment bottles from Temu, they've gone up to the outrageous price of £1.49! Over a fiver on Amazon. My go to for god bargains recently has been Vinted; type "camping" into the search bar, lots of unused/little used gear as well as used stuff. It's been a good way for me to get quality for a good price, and the money goes directly into someone's pocket. I've managed to get a couple of full Trangia sets for under £30 each, lamps, cutlery, collapsible cups, a couple of very good multi tools, a tent, bed roll. Lots of rucksacks and sleeping bags on there. Better value - I think - than e-bay, but it pays to look in very regularly as a lot of the stuff doesn't hang around long. I personally wouldn't touch Temu with the proverbial - I'd rather buy quality second hand, and I'm concerned about reports of data harvesting, insecure information storage etc. Having said that. I understand why some folk use it and like it, but it's not for me. Hope this info might be useful to others. Another good video thanks :)

    What , no swearing? Well done. Easiest way.. DON'T fasten ends of roof into place first .. makes threading the longer poles easier. Centre the long poles before fitting into the colour coded pins at the tent base. Fit roof ends then (stand on something!).. Tent clips to poles VERY tight on ours. I even bought 4 steel rings (2 1/4"cm diameter) to thread over the two adjacent poles so where they cross.. the plastic/metal clip will clip on a lot easier.. still a lot of tension. Before this one fibreglass pole split .. requiring a fix with 10-12mm jubilee clips before going back to the store before the guarantee runs out! (Oh had extra eyes fitted to the base skirt to ensure better pegging out at periphery.
