Tethrd Predator platform and Hawk Helium stick fusion.
I took the top steps away and narrowed the stick down to the same width as the slot in the platform. The washers has to be glued to the platform in the right direction to be able to fold it over to the back.

An easy way to create a lock if you want to use an amsteel rope instead of the straps. If you chose to use this mod you ’ll do that at your own risk.

SRT is King when it comes to saddle hunting. See (One Stixing like a Boss) to see how I use 2 smaller poles to push the rope up as I go. Throw bag with string, in the woods, SUX! You got that beat for sure! New Sub.
Do you have a video on how you attached the platform to the helium stick?
Str nice, check video from NY saddle hunter
Wicked bow dude. Going to make my first self bow soon and scouting for ideas
Ive made a whole lot since this one. Start out with maple or ash before yew or osage to get the tillering process right. My personal favourite is yew or juniper. Never tried osage. It doesnt grow in Sweden.
Cool idea. How does the predator platform/stick do with sideloading? Any movement?
Thanks. Minimal movement in my opinion.
@@roedeermania4876 cool I might try the same on a muddy pro stick

I have the same machine and have started to dabble as well. Can you talk about your suggested stitch length... tension settings, etc.? And if you already did, I apologize. I watched with the sound down low (baby sleeping nearby).
Thread type, brand, size? Thanks!
I used regular straight stitch an zig zag. Mostly the wheel set on 2. The thread is Tera 40
What are your dimensions on the fabric?
Can you show video rappelling with it and pulling it down after rappelling?
You might want to look up the ratings on those quick links. It’s not very much!
Isnt 4000 kg enough? 😂😂😂
Belo trabalho
Parabens muito bom video. Ficou muito bom esse arco
I'm interested in finding out how you determined your saddle pattern dimensions. I'm a fairly thin person (1.85m tall and <80kg) and my saddle dimensions seem to be quite a bit larger than yours. After wearing this a bit have you found it to be a good fit?
Hi. I meassured from the middle of my leg/hip, around my but, to the other side, same spot. Ive made a couple of these before so I made some adjustments. This is not as wide as the previous ones. I suggest you take a piece of fabric and cut it so it’ll fit your body. The shape is in the video, kind of a barrel shape. I hope it helps. /TJ
I like that wide mouthed dump pouch. What kind is that?

What is the orange thing on your bridge?
john slaton It’s a Petzl adjust, none mechanical rope clamp. Works great!! Much better than a Ropeman.
I much prefer putting the line in the tree with a throw weight and line... quite and less bulk. Then leave a throw line rope in the tree if you like the location at the end of the day. Next time you come out. No need to reset your line.
How did you make that bridge for your saddle
Johnny V Its a Petzl adjust clamp. No moving parts. www.petzl.com/INT/en/Sport/Lanyards/CONNECT-ADJUST
Roedeer mania thank you so much!
This is great! I would love a video on how to create the DIY attachment
I see some guys using a left hand ascender with their right foot in the foot loop, and some use a left hand ascender with their left foot in the loop, like you. Is one way easier than the other, or are some guys doing it wrong? Thanks
If I dont want to modify an ascender, would a CT Quick Roll be the same thing? Why do you want to cut the handle off? Also curious what the difference is between GriGri 2 and GriGri+. I'm trying to put my first climbing setup together. Thank you.
What’s your method for descending once you’ve completed you’re hunt? I like you’re ascending method but would like your technique for getting down.
Hi. I use the grigri for both ascending and descending. There should be another video where I descend.
I appreciate the video very much. I will be doing pretty much the same rig. Not a criticism of you but a concern I have: there is a lot of metal and the clanks, although not coming through very loud on the video, would, I suspect, carry quite a distance in the predawn still of a woodlot when there isn't wind. Anybody with thoughts on that?
This is not a hunting situation so I don't focus that much on being quiet. There's lots ow ways of making the metal gadgets less clunky :)
Your video was well done. If you would want to do one on quieting the gear that may be helpful. My climbing gear has not arrived yet, but from other videos it seems the grigri is fairly clunky. I would welcome any ideas. Thanks! And nice shooting!
I have the same concern and have it down to just the belay device and carabiner. The extra biner on the hand ascender is really handy (or a micro pulley), but I don't use it because of the noise. Everything else is rope connections.
@@danhoff4401 That is interesting because I have found that my ascender is silent but the belay device is my only source of metal noise. I use a Climbing Technology Quick Roll Ascender. It has the potential to be very noisy but, with care, it is easy to use it silently. With a bit of practice it becomes second nature. I use a gri gri belay device. With each pull there is a little click. I also noticed a squeak developing which I attributed to the tensioning of the rope in the grooves. I solved that by putting a bit of string wax in the gri gri before each hunt. Works well and the rope does not slip at all. As far as the click from the gri gri, I consider it not worth worrying about. If the walk in and setting up all my gear at the base of the tree didn't alert deer, then they are probably too far away to hear that click.
@@jeffsalsieder640 I have a beal birdie, and I don't find it that much harder to advance the rope without the leverage point, so it's not that I couldn't find a way to do that I just don't need to. This guy's set up also has alot of metal, ropeman, bridge plate etc. I got rid of all of that. Slower to adjust, but no metal. The biggest thing I want to eliminate is metal on metal noise. Alot of things rustle only we clank.
What about the scent on the stick on the Ground? Keep on the trial work. We are all getting wiser on this fine way to hunt.
I take the stick up the tree when hunting. Often times the lines ar pre set then the stick isn't a problem. It happens that I want to change the rope to another location when I'm in the tree. Then having the stick with you is very convenient.
Where did you get the measurements from? I want to make one but I am not sure how big to make it.
I meassured from hip bone to hip bone around my but. You have to take meassures on yourself.
My meassurments are in the video. Im 158 pounds
@@roedeermania4876 thank you. I appreciate you getting back so soon. I plan on making it tomorrow
What is the needle and thread did you use, is it a special needle?
It’s a denim needle and extra strong thread.
Smartest tree hunter I've seen yet!
Thanks Chad. I will take a look at your videos. Looks interesting :) /TJ
Slick.
I wish you would have demo'd it up in a tree. I want to make one also as 250 is way to much for me.
Man, you had me going, I though you were going to shoot that lady who was making all the noise. lol
now that is a slick way to get up in a tree.
I like the look of those dump pouches. What are they? I use the tethered SYS Haulers and they are sizable and collapse nicely but sometimes it would be nice to have a pouch that stays open when you're trying to load your ropes.
I guess you can find the pouches on Amazon or ebay. I got them on wish.
@@roedeermania4876 Any chance you could share the wish link here? I've bought on wish before but the ones I have are smaller. Thanks for the video!

How do you get your rope out of the tree
I have one "up" hook and one "down" hook that I use to pull down the the rope with
Are you modifying that pole at all?
Just the hook
Idk man.... the more I look into this (srt), the more I just think a good set of sticks may be the way to go. Seems too loud and cumbersome to me.
There's no right or wrong in what equipment one uses as long as it's safe and FUN :)
I have sticks and steps. They all make noise if you are not careful . Main advantage I see is weight reduction.
@@jodyhodge2129 and safety. Always connected and never any slack in your connection.
Where can I find everything for that setup? I would really like to try this out before hunting season starts
Hey :) I live in Sweden so where I bought everything won't help you Im afraid but I use a GRIGRI 2, the ascender you can buy on eBay/amazon it has a pulley mounted on the outside and the handle is cut off. Look for the the 18" pole on a site for window cleaning.
Are you from McComb?
Dustin Barr check out NY saddle hunters they have a promo with wesspur
What type of hooks do you have on the sides of your saddle a link would be great please
American Mastiff hey 😀 Im not sure what you mean by ”hooks” ?
This is exactly what I plan to do this fall, glad to see it practice while I wait on my saddle!
Nice! Works well!!
Would you make one to sell without the buckle? Just leave belt ends free.
Hey :) Right now I'm pretty busy with renovating the house but I will make one for a friend later this spring so many then? Thanks for asking
@@roedeermania4876 let me know if you would and a $. Appreciate your time and video.
How did you lay out your pattern? I'm assuming that the is a center line vertical and horizontal. Also would you wear a medium large or extra large?
