Haiiro no neko AutoWorx started off as a way to document a new build and just have some fun!
Inspired by my 2 grey cats and my love for the automotive culture of japan. As an automotive enthusiast who loves to build cool vehicles, I figured I would document some of the projects I get the privilege of working on.
So follow and grow with us as we give you a look into some of the cool things we get to do.
Currently working on our new mini truck project "Purple Stuff".

wrapping up the center console and lower stack!
today, while we waited for the paint to cure, we decided to wrap the center console and custom guage/ jax 4 play center stack in some black foam backed suade. This should really tie the interior together.
there are beauty panels that will go over the faces of these, but I couldn't resist sharing.

I just got my hands on a pile of parts for my Hardbody and this inspires me to start bolting them on
Absolutely! I appreciate the support, and I hope you get out there and get it going. If you follow the Instagram post up some pics, id love to see it. 💪💪
@@H.N.N.AutoWorx I don’t have an insta, but I’ll probably post some clips of it here and on my TikTok
Awesome truck can't wait to see it finished
You and me both! I appreciate the support! I hope you are enjoying the build 🫡
Looking good! This thing is going to be wild once it's painted! 🤜🤛
I hope so! I'm almost done fitting everything up. Hopefully get it sprayed soon.
Pick the brightest color u can think of and throw 1lb of flake at it. If its black you failed
Some things look better over a black basecoat. 🫡 send me some paint and I'll spray the truck that color.
@@H.N.N.AutoWorx Darker royal colors tend to work good with the gold/ black aspects you got going on. Just found this build today and think its pretty awesome! Hope to see more :)
Definitely agree! Originally, the truck was going to have a matching base coat, but after seeing it over the black, I loved how it looked darker in the shadows and bright in the sun. The wheels are the same, a softer gold in the shade but a nice flake in the sun. All that paired with the satin black trim, air tank, compressors, and grill should flow well. I hope you enjoy the build as it progresses, it's come a long way in just 9 months.
On this build I’ve seen you got more stuff rohdefab should look into getting the d21 door pulls I just got them for mine and they add a lot more to the looks!!! Just waiting for the rising sun vents then getting them powder coated
Lol, yeah, we have the nissan door pulls in podwercoat now along with the send nudes cowl vents. 🤙 pretty much the whole catalog for the d21 that he offers. If you don't already, follow me on Instagram! I'd love to check your build out.
I'm piecing a neglected '92 king cab that a buddy of mine bagged in '02. It's black, and I've already painted the fuel rails and dash bezel anodized purple
It's always nice seeing one brought back to life! I'd love to check the build out. What're your plans for it?
Get it running, finish the bodywork and drive it. It took a hit on the nose that destroyed the core support so it was parked and forgotten years ago. I wound up with it after he passed, and I'm drawing some inspiration from your project
I appreciate the support! It's always good seeing them get put back on the road. If you run into any issues, feel free to reach out 🤙
I recently painted mine cool to see other minis 🔥🔥🔥
Oh, I'm gonna have to check it out! I can't wait to get this thing sprayed out.
Where did you get that fuse panel with everything there or did you piece it together? Looks nice
The fuse panel, relays, and breakers were all soured thru eBay. There are some panels that are much better than this one, and some even have the relay panel included. We are going to be building the final fuse/relay panel here soon, now that we have an idea of where the location will be.
Pretty nice
It's getting there. Lots to do, but it'll be worth it.
I've been looking for a video for the hood vents! Thank you!
Glad I could help! Thank you for watching!

Its a great song. Probably one of the first to introduce me to that style of music.

This is sick bro can’t wait to see it finished…Thanks for the inspiration and information you have posted 🔥🔥
Appreciate you! I'm glad you are enjoying the build so far. Lots of little bits getting wrapped up, but I'm hoping to get the bodywork rolling this weekend and hopefully see this thing all painted by the end of the month.
Coming along fast! When are you planning to paint it?
Hahaha well I'm hoping to have it ready for paint by the end of this month. Thanks for the love!
I’m gonna start binging your videos lol I have a 93 and plan to redo my dash similarly soon and extremely appreciate what your adding to the slim community of in depth content especially for hardbodies. Thank you good sir!
I appreciate the love! For the dash, definitely grab yourself some 2-4mm foam first, then wrap the dash in your favorite foam backed fabric. I made a mistake the first time I did the dash and felt it wasn't as plush as it could be. So, adding that additional later really made it feel great. I've been trying to make videos that help out. Seeing some of the stuff on UA-cam never seemed as good as what I was able to find in the forums. So I figured why not get some videos posted in case someone else needs help like I did. Thank you for watching the videos and being a part of the minitruck community. Feel free to follow me on Instagram, same name as the UA-cam. 🫡
Nice man! I had a pretty bad lookin dadh too.. i got one of those hard covers that get siliconed over an old one. It looked perfect, but seemed barely too small to fit perfect. Then it dawned on me. I riped it down to bare metal, slapped the cover on the bare dash, and it fits PERFECTLY! So my plan now is to shoot some expansion foam in the voids of the metal, cut it all down flush where it should be, shoot a bunch of expansion foam, throw a cut hefty trash bag on it, and clamp/weigh the cover on it (hopefully that gets me a hair of cushion and forms up the dash for the cover just right), take the cover off and the trash bag, then cut off or fill in anything that forces the cover to bow til it sits just like the origional. But i like that material u used on urs! Has me thinkin i might do a cloth now.. maybe black denim? Lol thatd be cool, but i dont want it to sun fade. Idk but its got my brain tickin
Awesome! Yeah I originally was going to do something similar, where I'd cover the dash in foam material or expanding foam and cut it down to fit the replacment cover, but just decided to give it a shot and see how it turned out. If you post your truck on Instagram or FB feel free to add me. I'd love to check it out! I'm glad the content on the dash got your wheels turning with your project. Appreciate the support! Thank you for watching. 🫡
It also fried the ECU, so I got a megasquirt2
I'm rewiring my entire harness in my king cab hardbody ka too! Been slowly working on it for a while now.. DEFINITELY going to referring back to ur video dude, so PLEASE record whatever u can! So glad I'm not the only one doing this. My harness got fried.. Im actually surprised my truck didn't catch fire. Cig lighter a buddy gave me didn't pop out.. then I couldn't pull it out.. then my dash and hood just emitted the magical smoke from EVERYWHERE. lol so while pulling the harness and untaping it, so many wires were melted together.
Oh dang! Yeah, I've been there, lol. The original harness for this truck when it had the z24 in it was completely toast. I think there's a video on how bad it was. I did attempt to repair that harness but decided to just swap the KA into it and start with a new, used harness. If you have any specific questions, feel free to DM me on Instagram. It's the same as the channel. I'm working on tucking and finalizing the harness this weekend, so your timing is perfect. It should be pretty straight forward, especially If you are using an existing harness. Going with that megasquirt is going to make things simple and clean for sure. Appreciate you watching the videos. 👌🤙
They look so good 😎
Thank you! They aren't perfect, but I'm sure they will be good enough for now. Maybe in the future, we can get some rhode fab Aluminum door cards and try it again. I'm glad you are enjoying the progress on the truck.
battery where will you put it
We're going to be using a kinetic battery located in the cab tucked into the spot behind the driver seat where the fold out passenger seat used to go.
Dam your videos inspire me to get to work on my 94,Thanks brother!!
I'm happy to hear it! Thanks for watching the build! If you post on here or Instagram, I'll check out your build. My Instagram is the same as the channel.

Ive been following this series for a couple weeks and absolutely love what youre doing with this truck. I recently got a 94' Hardbody as my first project car. I keep referencing and watching your videos as theyre very informative on stuff that may be neglected by other Hardbody owners on forums or YT. Can't wait to see this thing finished and it seems like youre making quick work of it!
That is exactly why I love making the videos on the hardbody. YT has definitely been really helpful to me when it comes to doing something I'm not well versed in. I really appreciate the support! It's really awesome to know that someone was able to use my content to help them or even show them what all may be involved. I've had this 89' king cab for about 9 months now, and it has been a learning experience and a great way to dial in some skills that I normally don't need to use. If you ever have any questions, feel free to send me a message. My Instagram is the same as the YT. 🫡
Coming along great, man! I am a little jealous staring at that 5 speed...😂 Mine is an Auto, however: Not for long. I have my eye out for a donor truck, that's how I did my 620, which was also a factory Auto. With a donor (as you know) everything you need is there! Anyway, keep those videos coming!
Thank you! Yeah, a donor is always a great way to go. All the extra bits you need or usually forget are with a donor truck. There's alot of work to do over the next few months. I'm excited to get this thing running and actually get it painted.
Thanks. I did enjoy it. Before many questions to come, do they have genuine parts for the D21 1994-7 at your area?! What did you choose for the brake system for both front and rear ? Thanks waiting for you next videos
There are a few stores that can order parts around, but I ordered almost everything for the brake system from rockauto.com I did order the front brake calipers on ebay. They were OEM parts. I appreciate you watching!
Keep up the good work brother 💎
It's been a labor of love lol I appreciate you watching the build! I honestly didn't think thus many people would even be interested in it, but it's positive comments like this that give me drive to finish it up. I appreciate you 🤙

The word of the day: Tedious! I finally finished up my wiring and got all of my interior back together. Figuring everything out and then plumbing the wires: Tedious! With the solenoids, power windows and mirrors I have 12 wires running into each door. The factory loom from the body to the door was too small for all those wires. After searching the Nissans at the junkyard, I found that the Xterra had the same body/door grommets: So they were perfect! I'm glad the wiring is done. Next up will be the bags...I'm really enjoying your videos, man! I can't wait to see how everything turns out!
That sounds like alot of work! But I'm sure it was all worth it. I'm glad you are enjoying the build! Wiring is very tedious, but I don't mind it. It can be the most relaxing and stressful part of the build. But it's always worth it. 😁🤙
It's crazy seeing it all put back together
It needs some fine tuning and a few adjustments, but I'm happy with how it is turning out.
Where’d you get the headers
Headers are for the ka24e 240sx. They are just some eBay headers. But with a little reinforcement and some wrap, they will be perfect. You do need to trim the lowest o2 sensor location, which isn't a big deal since there is 2 others.
❤
Thank you for watching! I hope you enjoy the build.
@@H.N.N.AutoWorx hi, I'm also restoring a 1975 fiat 124 sport coupe
@@r.h.m.milano that's awesome! I was watching some of your content earlier today. It looks awesome.
Unfortunately you might want to completely redo those lower bars. With the bag being offset to the side of the bar, it's wanting to twist the bar every time you lift. That is why your front lower link mount separated.
Yeah, I definitely plan on doing a bag over axle setup, but that will be later on if we back half the truck. For the time being, this current setup will be fine for meets and cars and coffee events. The plan is to go with either a 3 link or keep the reverse 4 link and just change the location of the rear bags. I definitely agree, tho that was the cause of the separation before. However, the previous welds were not all that great either. Lol
@@H.N.N.AutoWorx right on, keep up the progress!
@its_just_chad absolutely. I'm down for a few days with a broken tooth, but I should have a new video out next Saturday.
Magnificent masterpiece
🫡 Thank you, I can't wait to get it all finished up. But I'm starting to see the sculpture in the marble.
It looks so damn good in there! Any plans to run a 240sx intake manifold?
Thank you! I was thinking something along those lines. LOL
🎉🎉🎉🎉
I like how you say no one is going to see them and then go the extra mile to shoot the links anyway: You're a man that knows it's all in the details! Great job!
😄 I look at it like, I know it's there, so why not make it look good. It's the same with hardware. Did I really need to get all new hardware for the mounting tabs that run under the truck for the brake lines and fuel supply? Probably not, but it would have bugged me. Lol. I appreciate you watching the videos. Hope you are enjoying the build.
Definitely! I'm enjoying the build a lot! I currently have the whole interior torn out of mine to run all of my door and window wires, relays, etc...Watching your videos is inspiring me to get out there and finish mine!
🥹 Thank you! That made my week! Would love to see your build as well! I've got old school roll downs in the King Cab, but we're going to do door speakers and route the wiring for the door popper solenoids soon. So I feel your pain there, lol
No...Thank you! I had the manual windows in my King Cab too and one of the guys on here told me about the Pathfinders being a direct bolt-in. So I found a pair on a '94 and bolted them in. I was going to grab some aftermarket switches from Summit, but I held off. I like to try and modify things and make it look factory. So I finally found my switches in a '02 Frontier Crew Cab, I grabbed the 2 from the rear doors and then installed them where my window cranks were. Turned out great and they are factory. I did have to notch about an inch to clearance the inner door structure for the switch to clear. I also got the Autoloc one touch up/down modules. I got spoiled driving my friend's car with that feature...Yes, wiring is a tedious endeavor especially when you don't like to do it. I just pulled my harness apart on my KA24DE powered Datsun 620 and eliminated every unnecessary wire, that took me a couple of weeks...The results were worth the pain!
It definitely sounds like a fun time! I figured the less wiring I have to do, the better, lol. If you look back at some older videos, the wiring on this thing was straight up a fire hazard. But had I not found the issues, and just cleaned up the truck, it probably would have burnt to the ground. Lol
Looking good! I like the contrast of the brake/clutch lines against the paint!
Thank you! Yeah I was originally going to go with a silver or black. But the brass/copper looks so good. 😄
Can you leave a link to the hardware that you are using for the bushings. I need to start posting again on my channel.
Yeah, I'll drop a link in the video for the site where I get the bushing assembly from. The hardware is just grade 8 with a 3/4 shank from the local hardware store. Using nylock nuts and 3/4 washers.
I have a 94 king cab hardbody that I’m doing the same thing too. Boxing the frame from the cab back for now, C notch and 4 link with bags. I’ll make the spring hangers and tabs for the heim joints. Got a massive plasma table at work, plus I’m the manager over that department. Motor was junk when I bought the truck , so it’s torn down and cleaning everything up little by little. I’ve found a couple good motors that I could buy. One is in a 4x4 and the fenders are in excellent shape. Only problem is a need a welding machine, trying to save up to purchase one. My daughter has a 97 king cab HB that she daily drives to school. She’s 17 and loves that truck. It needs a paint job and some rims. Other than that it runs excellent. Where you located at, would like to get all this done by April for the mini truckin nationals in Maggie Valley NC.
Honestly that new harbor freight flux welder I recently purchased was one around 160$ and works perfectly for the truck. Minimal spatter and good solid welds. A great choice for gas less welding.
Videos and welds are both looking better man! I have that same titanium welder and welded the whole rear end of my truck, I agree it does a good job. Keep up the good work. dropped_91
Thank you! Yeah, I was really impressed with the welder, I had that 99$ Lincoln one for about 7-8 years, and it finally quit. Didn't know how much that welder was going out until I got that new one. 😆 I appreciate you checking out my videos. I'm glad you are enjoying them. 🤙
