Hi, I’m a home owner and I was wondering if it’s ok to add an automatic sprinkler valve on a section that I like to just flood for about an hour. Can I have it on a timer that it can turn on and off?
Still think Rainbird is better lol
That’s okay…
Rain Bird is good too.
Thank you for your videos 🙏 this helped me a lot with my new job I'm a gas replacement operator and fitter 😎 🙏 thank you again and keep up the good work 💯
God job 💪 🙏 thank u for your video
The check valves work beautifully. I love how the heads pop instantly! These saved me on a house with such low pressure nothing else would pop.
M12 drill with the clutch set to 10. Then snug them up with a screwdriver if need be. Works like a charm!
Well done. Nice repair and clean outcome!
There was a broken o-ring on a rainbird dv100? Shocking
Solorsync* Auto Captions got me again. 😅
Hey sprinkler dude, Any conventions or training you recommend for someone trying to learn this trade? Are there other options besides working for a larger company full time? If be willing to work part time, just right now I have a landscaping company and I work about 4 days a week. I found some online that charge about $4-600. They are in person trainings though.
Hey. New irrigation tech here. Working with another guy who is a one man show. Just started. He recommended your channel. Any online trainings you recommend? I'm in Florida.

Are Florida homeowners just old and set in their ways? Or in a simple 2-zone system like this, in your opinion is it better to not involve digital electrical valves and wire to minimize the potential damage of lightning strikes?
I’ve learned, not everybody is interested in digital controllers and electronic valves. This work order was already pricey with the pump replacement. If you follow me for long enough. You won’t find me installing too many of these. You’ll find me converting these over to electronic valves.
@ yes I have noticed this is an off scenario for you to not install regular valves. Makes sense that the price difference would factor in the choice to just replace it as is.👍👍Great work as always!
Do you have to pay for water? We do here in Australia.
you did not show the important part !!its a fail!!
Do you own this conserva branch?
@@travisalexander4877 I don’t own this franchise. Although I do get asked this question almost everyday.
If you spin it will work
The master vavle may have its own separate common wire. But it will be installed at the same spot as the other common wires
Wisdom!
Do master valves share the same common wire as the zone valves? If a master valve is installed after the original irrigation install, how would this be wired?
Looks like that is lazy person way to fix a problem. Find the real problem
He did and the client doesn’t want it fixed the right way he wants it done the easy way and the cheapest , it’s like you watched the video but didn’t listen to the part where he said Client wants simple fix🤦🏽♂️
Don't use that! Find the wire problem and fix it! A doubler is a homeowner fix, not an irrigation company fix!!!!
What if the client doesn’t want to fix it right
Do you carry a pvc pip reamer kit that would also allow you to ream out a fitting versus replacing all of those parts?
The conventional model of the ACC2 can not be expanded with decoder stations and the Decoder model can not be expanded using conventional wiring?
A new install must be one of the most satisfying parts of the job. That true? If not, what is?
The ability to hold different size cans is what sets this apart. Thanks for all of your videos, I’ve learned a lot.
Love the videos dude please keep going
Thanks! Will do!
You don't know how much appreciate your help with this video thanks buddy 😊
Glad to help
What’s the point of a master control valve?
Should’ve just installed a pvc shut off
No pipe pullers in Florida
I'm a big fan of PVC lock for situations like that. Quick thinking!!
🧠
Thank you!!
you're welcome!
Clean work
Thank you!
Gotta watch for needles now on commercial.... need a pay raise for sure!!!!
Primer bandaid!!!
Like a true pro!!! 😅
This is awesome man. I just started doing irrigation tech work and now im looking all over the place for any kind of knowledge i can find. Of course being out in the field will ultimately be the best way for me to learn, but just a little taste of what is out there will help me immensely. I want to be the best that i can so learning anything from the parts of a sprinkler head to working with decoders and how systems are usually wired will be good information. Going on my third week but just gotta keep absorbing all the info i can.
Sign up and start taking the Irrigation courses. They are free and worth every bit of your time. training.hunterindustries.com/
looking forward to how you solve this, pretty interesting
What a horrible job.
How to test all zones on a x2 with wand installed?
I use the armada pro send tone and use the pen
That will work. The locator sends that signal much further
Like the content and the longer videos. Keep it coming!!
I have a leaky indexing valve, 3 zones and I never use 2 of them because the grass was changed out to little stones in both zones. Don't need a timer because I only water while I'm outside doing other things. My plan is to cut out the indexing valve and and timer, and make a self-designed "manifold" with simple PVC ball valves. You think this will be: good/bad/ugly ?
@@JustSayN2O it’s your house. If you find that to be functional for you. Go for it! It will work.
G'day. It's good seeing a good diagnostics process with an explanation.
Sch 40 or 160 pipe you use on that
@@realoneil4078 if I’m installing pipe. It is scheduled 40 100% of the time unless otherwise requested.
😂😂I was not expecting that 2nd valve 👏👏
Why not a volt meter? Probably is the crappy product your company uses
Huh???
@@travisalexander4877 because they voltmeter doesn’t have the ability to activate the solenoid like the stationmaster does. The 811 solenoid is bulletproof.
You wouldn’t have had to pull any wires to test ohms or if the controller was putting out power. Those valves are the most changed out valves in my area.
@@travisalexander4877 Thanks for your input.
I like your videos man I will be moving my business down to Florida in 4-5 years I have been in the industry for 20 plus here in Indiana. I only use the station master for winterizing purposes if needed
Any electrical frequency over 1.2 will disable the controller and keep it from running. Wire sprouts, add a zones, bad wire splices or telephone/internet/fiber optic stations will interpret the signal
Good point! The Hunter HPC controller, powered by a 1.2-amp transformer, uses Hydrawise software to monitor each station's electrical load. If it detects a load above 900mA, it automatically disables that station to protect the system. Issues like bad wire splices can interfere with the controller’s operation, while nearby telecommunications equipment, such as internet or fiber optic lines, can impact its Wi-Fi connection. In the age of the Internet of Things (IoT), controller location planning is more important than ever. Choosing a location that reduces interference-by keeping irrigation wiring and telecommunications equipment separate-helps ensure reliable connectivity and performance. While temporary fixes like wire sprouts may work in a pinch, repairing splices and securing solid connections are the best long-term solutions. With its built-in ability to monitor electrical integrity, the HPC controller helps spot issues early, making it easier to address electrical problems at the source and keep the system running smoothly.
