I love your job
Quick question. I just got a Hydrawise system and I usually like to have multiple programs for like spring, summer and fall etc. I want to keep the programs saved but there isn't a way to suspend the programs I want saved for different seasons? Is the only way to disable it is to use interval days and make sure no days are highlighted? Or is there a way to suspend? Also thoughts on "predictive watering" I feel like the forecasts on the app aren't always accurate. Thank you
P.S I used to have a "total control irritrol" that got struck by lightning you would just flip though program A-D.
Nice
Thanks!
Like the video and how you explain it.
Thank you for the kind words!
How do you disable the test pmg button? The tech set it on mine and it still runs daily for a few seconds per zone on top of my regular times.
How much for that Hunter smart controller?
I like that keyboard and TV screen idea. Pricing dependant per vehicle, you're exactly right!!!
I used to work for conserva great company to work with had to leave to start my own
Can you tell me what to do about leaking nozzles? Nobody seems to know. Water sprays out all around the nozzle as well as through it. (Rotary sprinklers, Hunter type with the red nozzles.) The nozzles are pressed in all the way. Is there a fix?
If im not wrong it’s supposed to do that so it covers that area around the head where it leaks
@@yovanich1410 OMG really?
Can we all just take a moment to appreciate the 1800 in the air that likely soaks the controller operator?
@@benwalters2449 the nozzle is closed
does that work with armadas too?

Very cheap@$125. I would have charged $190
Thanks dude
@@9712vcoalroller my pleasure 😎
Could you use a mechanic stethoscope to here water running through the pipes instead of drilling holes? Thank you so much for your videos!!
@@adamevans8234 you absolutely could. However, my intention will be to Install control valves in place of this indexing valve anyway. So drilling through the pipes really isn’t a problem here.
Sorry, did not mean to take the sting out of your rant, I am genuinely thankful...the company I work for hires illegals and uses work release prisoners...kind of stuck inbetween a rock and hard place atm...fall is coming, economy is crap, I must survive for the winter...I am learning so much and hopefully I will be able to leave In spring...since I have taken over truck, I have been given no raise nor position but intend on learning and running it till at least my foreman returns(we became good friends)...God bless you all
@@CharlesKyle-f8p with your attitude, you will make that happen! If you need additional resources for education. You can find plenty of them on my website. www.SprinklerDude.org
First off, thank you for posting so many irrigation videos...I work for a landscape/irrigation company and have been there a little over a year...I took the job because I am older now and can't climb trees any more...recently I have been thrust into irrigation technologies and troubleshooting due to my foreman having cancer ...I have been studying whenever possible to learn so that I will do well...sometimes it's almost overwhelming but I keep my cool and have been doing well...if not for the landscape supply personnel and people like you, I would sink quickly...my boss owns a rather large landscape company and does have contracts with many apartment complex and some homes on the gulf coast...one day I'm pruning azalea, next I'm trying to do something irrigation wise I have never done or seen done before...yesterday I replaced a pressure switch on a pump but thankfully youtube and my old common sense saved the day...as for your thoughts on landscape people over irrigation is very solid and sound true...anyways, tanks for your videos, been learning a lot
What is this testing rig?! I would love to see a video on it explaining what this is and how it works! I totally agree with what you said though! Water is so important to mental health!
@@bberding this is a specialized custom built testing machine built by the manufacturer to test their product. The MP rotator. Specifically the MP 800 in this case. I’ll take a look through my videos to see if I have the original footage.
This is awesome. Badass locator too 👍 I needed to locate a valve box today but i cant quite afford one yet. -Can we find that map application you were using somewhere?- Description, got it.
Can you put the sensor on the controller cover or is there electrical interference?
@@vickikieft6108 how would you mount it? Because if you’re going to use screws, then they would protrude into the controller. Then, how would you route the wire?
What app are you using to label the zones and valve location.

I live for that knock!
That’s a sweet wire tracer!! I know you have another video but do you prefer it over armada. I have an armada but I love the bars that light up to indicate the wire location
its a sweet tool! less expensive than the 900
What is the reason for the master valve in this site? It just seems to prevent the main line from being pressurized constantly, we don’t use them here in Michigan
You answered your own question. That’s exactly why it’s there.
How do you like it compared to the Armada Pro 900? I use my Armada multiple times a week and am super happy. Always curious about new tools though. Loving the content dude, i'm in Venice.
I like them both. They both get the job done. The Tempo tracer is much more affordable
Always fun to watch an experienced pro work with specialized tools and see the full process. Thanks!
Yes sir Sprinkler dude strikes again
You know it!
Nice video . Only thing I would’ve done differently was put a cap on, the other pipe or tape,so debris won’t get inside of it.
That would have saved me the time of remotely turning on the zone to flush the other side. But not much time.
Man… on one hand it’s brilliant that you set it up to work like this. On the other hand, I’d be scared of walking away and then the indexing valve getting off-course (unless they’re all three the same type of zone with the same sprinkler type and plant material). Props that you hardwire the controller in too 👍👍
@@benwalters2449 fortunately they are all spray zones watering similar plant material. I definitely talked to the client about upgrading that indexing valve in the future and again once I finished the job
2 water sources… Indexing valve with 3 zones… Fun!
WILL YOU TAKE A CHECK ❓
Facts all day
What is the brand name of the filter you used?
I am starting to think that you should stop putting pipes under big trees
Trees kinda you know, grow over the years. And usually pipes are laid down with no trees around till someone else comes around just planting them. Maybe it's the city, maybe some random home owner. Then after several years of roots growing down deeper and spreading out to search for water and nutrients. This happens
Use copper around trees just like the old septic mainlines used to be. Roots will lose
@@jameshoekzema3172 while we’re at it, should we run the pipes overhead for road crossings?

Nice work. I also work irrigation along side my dad in AZ. I couldn't help but notice but is that top valve installed backwards? I've done that before!
Great eye! It is in fact installed in the opposite direction from the others. This one valve is the master valve of the system. The water must feed through this valve before it feeds the manifold. It’s installed correctly. Again, great question! Feel free to ask more questions!
Whats that spray gun that would be great to have
I would also like to know
Aihand cordless pressure washer, I think, not sure what model
Man i feel your pain brother. Fellow irrigation tech here, right up the road from you in Venice. I just finished a 3 inch main re-route around a big oak tree. Lots of work, 2 new valves and 8 wires ripped out of the ground. 😂 Love the content keep it coming man!
It’s crazy how much destruction and problems roots can cause.
What is the easiest way to measure the exact location the tee goes? Do you just measure the previous cutout piece?
