I enjoy many sonic games that arent up to standard, however i dont think that just because you like something that isnt great means that a polished experience shouldn't be something important towards sonic games. You mention how 06 seemed to have been the making of a great game but that the product that we had ultimately was not good, but that inadvertedly proves that quality in that case is more important because if it was polished we would've not only had a better gameplay but even more of everything else you love about the game. Putting quality above all in a game doesn't mean that it will be void of its style or passion, and i feel like thats what you were trying to get at with this video, that quality equates to the game losing its soul which I dont see at all. You dont provide an example of a game that was of quality but ended up comprising its style so its not convincing either while there are plenty of games that are quality and perfectly fulfill their visions like Elden Ring or Breath of the wild.

Look i got your points the ambition is also one thing that making a game good.. but quality is definitely more important...to sonic games to be good dude and certainly making the game so much better and polish but however the way you speak in this video by liking titles like sonic 06 or sonic forces and secret rings except black knight that one is actually a good game but at the same time saying that quality isn't that important you are basically asking for medicore games..if anything quality and ambition both should be in sonic games in order to be a good sonic game because quality of a video game is something needed and important for the gameplay to be good..so that's why quality in video games specially sonic games matters. this take is actually wrong and awful!

My personal headcanon takes a simple line from Undefeatable as their creation. In Undefeatable, there is a lyric that says “I’m what you get when the stars collide.” My theory is that the chaos emeralds were literally created by multiple different stars colliding into each other in some kind of cosmic war or something. When the dust settles, what’s left is the Master Emerald which flew away to Earth, the Chaos Emeralds which the Ancients of the Ancients found after this Cosmic War ended, and the Star pieces that we see during Starfall in Sonic Frontiers as these look a lot like the emeralds just more multicolored and in a different shape. The star pieces are probably the leftovers from the stars that fused into the emeralds, certainly containing power but not in anyway shape or form limitless power.

my personal headcanon for why the emeralds are connected to everything and yet seem to be in random places is because they transcend space and time, I know it sounds far fetched but we've seen that the chaos emeralds can be used for time travel and seem to come and go as they please, perhaps they're able to exist in any time/space where they could be needed most and whenever they are not needed they reside in the special zones until someone needs them or until a powerful force compels them to go where they could be needed. as for the master emerald it could be sort of like the main info hub that decides where the emeralds need to be by collecting info from possible futures

I like to believe the Chaos and Master emeralds are unique in the universe. Its implied that the ancients didn't create the emeralds with how they couldn't control their will and power and how they made their ship crash on earth due to the Master Emerald's influence and they've always been treated as mythical gemstones. In Sonic X the Metarex knew about their existance and so did the Black Arms. That, alongside how they scattered around space in Sonic X's Metarex saga makes me believe the emeralds are not tied to any planet and are known around the universe. It seems they are unique and have existed long before the ancients, but I would like if they didn't go more in-depth than that. Their almost magical and mysterious powers and origins only makes them more interesting. My personal headcanon is that they have existed since the origin of the universe and their power might change the planets they inhabit, such as Sonic's earth having such a close relationship to them with things such as the dark and light gaia cycle, or how it mutated the ancients and chaos. Maybe the emeralds are the source of the loops and unique ecosystems in the planet or the surprising abilities some of the species have. Who knows!

I just want them to STOP trying to add "lore" to the Chaos Emeralds... We have more than enough as is! How are the Chaos Emeralds connected to the Master Emerald and Ancient Echidna Tribe, connected to the very planet itself and the cycle of Dark and Light Gaia, AND come from the Ancients from space all at the same time??? Pick a lane, SEGA, and stop retconning everything for your twisted idea of "canon." Everything CAN'T be canon, you can't have your cake and eat it too.

Has anyone else thought about how the chaos emeralds are effectively linked to each continent of Sonic's planet via the Gaia temples. If they are really from space, then what the heck is going on there? Cause Chip in Sonic Unleashed flat out says that the planet breaking apart has been happen for Millions of years by the time Sonic Unleashed has happened. So that begs the question, did the Ancients arrive at Sonic's world when it was still in it infancy. But then cutscene from this very game contradict that idea because during the flashback showing the Titans fighting the End you can visibly see illuminated continents from space. Implying that the planet was already highly developed when the acients arrived. So if thats true, then where the actual Hell did the Gaia temples even come from? I don't know, its confusing but fun I guess.😅😅

I kinda wish we DIDNT know where the Emeralds come from. It keeps them mysterious, and lets the writers do whatever they want with legends about them.
