Nice, thank you.
after a couple months of playing guitar as a teen, these are the kind of chords i gravitated to and loved. i just didn’t know what to call them! thanks for popping up in my feed.
Shoutout my Rododendrons
Very nice playing, and great channel. Do you have training in Indian Classical? Your phraseology sounds like it.
I am continually impressed with your content, this is top tier. A one, a two, a three, and a yeahhh.
Also dat shell 🐚 voice need dat 9er on top fooll come on man you better come on innn
Fooolll its all bout your leadin voice son. That 5 in dat soprano is dull especially fo ya minor joints . Tell deez people fool.
@@joeaquilino19 broooo invert it
This lesson falls flat where you add the 4 and then double the 3. Add 4 is avoid on a major chord and doubling the 3 is a bad idea since the 16th century.
@@josdurkstraful because it’s there
@@josdurkstraful cluster chords with noise on top. The best idea since time began.
@@JakobPek Yeah, my mother in law is there also... 😜
You are so chill to listen to. I might actually just listen to this when I can’t sleep. That is not an insult.
sounds chill
😂
brilliant, can't wait for V-4
soon!
Perfect, I’m expanding my choice of chords from shells and am very interested in alt colour tones.
cheers!
That 6/9 quip was funny, but I caught right off....lol
it's great!

liked and subbed. immaculate vibes, even more immaculate lesson
cheers. Thank you!
0:09 I sat here watching this for over half an hour to learn this riff, but all I got was a bunch of expensive chord voicings! I want a refund! 😜
tabs soon!
@@JakobPek Standard notation only, please. 😆
@ will do! lol
All the best costumes come with a shave😂. Great lesson! Been listening to Freddie Green and have been wondering where this sound comes from. The Shells! 🎸
cheers! Thank you!
Random question lol but what strap do you use? I like using a strap sitting down but I can’t get the guitar as high as I’d like to (even on its highest set position). I feel most comfortable with a high guitar
I have no idea!
The best guitar lesson on the internet !! Good job
Thank you! 🎸
Any chance of a video where you demonstrate some 'starter' I-VI-II-V lines in a Blues Turnaround context (where each chord gets half a bar), and then maybe demo some of your favorite lines over that too? It's a progression I'm struggling to play anything other than arpeggios over
One day, yes, but in the meantime I would recommend checking out any of the Modern Chord Progression videos.
bro, you are the only one show me this cool shit. You got me as a new sub 🎉 congraz
cheers!
Sounds nice.
Thank you!
Love that sharp 4 also
all day!
Excellent! The little Wabbit hole just got a LOT DEEPER.
Lovely sounding excellent stuff on here 🎉🎉🎉. Bravo
@@francesclarke6808 thank you 😌
you gave me a massive "click moment" with this one, just opened me a new rabbit hole. thanks homie <3
Happy to hear that!
I believe Ted's intent was to have students develop an ear for chord movement. not etudes per say, but to incorporate into each player's musical styling. Also some of the chording sounds awkward if every note is played. I wouldn't play a Fsus9 and call it a Gmi+. and to follow with C dominant chord. He even may have made a mistake, because no matter how you try to play it, it doesn't flow.
i think not Don
Thank you friend
you're welcome!
Amazing lessons man. You're a great player and teacher. So helpful.
Thank you!
Who makes that Tele you are playing? And are those active mini humbuckers?

Bro i just want to smash a blunt and jam over krishna das with ya. Such a calming way to learn theory.
Om Shanti 🎶
This is such a great lesson! One question: would you say, for someone who is actively trying to gig, is there a practical reason to continue thinking in terms of m7b5? Or should one just choose the 'concept/thinking' that seems most logical to them? I find this way, the 'Joe Pass' approach we could call it, to be a lottt simpler and instead of thinking of what mode to use on an ambiguous 'half-diminished' chord, I love the freedom of expression you've demonstrated using just the arpeggio or perhaps the jazz minor pentatonic (C, D, Eb, G, A)
none of this is practical! I'm joking, but really, I think the ability to see "multiple harmonies in one" is the game changer.
That’s ALOTTTAAA chord mannnn
yea...
nice video, The Barry Harris method really ties all the major and minor 6 chords together into really cool scale of chords, the diminished minor and major 6th scales.
13:32 is where my hand said no
don't overdo it!
Liking your content a lot. May I suggest playing the relevant scales too (as you are sometimes doing) ? Like your delivery as well. I'll be back.
Cheers 🥂
Yikes!
INCREDIBLY HELPFUL ....Thank you
i think it should be i7 = III 6. the flat 3 is implied by it being a minor 1
@@garbotix8228 Nah bro. Nah
@JakobPek but why wouldn't minor notation be i iidim III iv v VI VII?
@ I’m afraid not. Chords of the natural minor scale would be Roman numerically articulated as such i iidim bIII iv v bVI bVII
@@JakobPek may I ask why?
@@garbotix8228 all Roman numeral analysis references the major scale and deviations from it.

Hmm aren’t these just drop 2 and drop 3 chords?
that's a name for them... but I dropped the drop duopoly a long time ago. V over D for ME
