I also think it's interesting that everybody just skirts around the word addict or alcoholic or addiction or sobriety like all those words or just danced around and nothing personal but as somebody who is a member of the Christian community who is saying that It bothered you that he said he had to take a step back from the Christian community to be in a better place.. while you are struggling to even say the words addict alcoholic addicted recovery any of those words have been skated around and to me people in the Christian community who can't be direct and straightforward and use the correct words are probably the same people that he has in mind when he says shame judgment pressure. I don't even like to go to 12 step based programs because it is an all inclusive if you don't believe in God or you have different beliefs you are shamed and made to feel like the outcast so from a recovering addict standpoint, 3 1/2 years in and I'm still being judged no matter how transparent I am and it's always by "big book thumpers"🫨😬

as an addict in recovery myself I definitely picked up on him saying that faith based programs are we got him in trouble and I couldn't agree more there are so many people who judge and there is so much pressure when you mix religion and recovery. They preach in recovery that it is a spiritual program and non-religious that is said over and over however they force it upon you and make you feel shame for not believing what they believe and so that particularly stood out to me

Drama and gossip in the workplace, Megan Marie Mom of three. I like it! You did a good job with this one. I can really relate to what you are talking about. In my "recent" experience. Jobs can be worse than elementary school and high school with the gossip and drama. I mean in high school there were rumors about people that spread throughout a school. Really not even the entire school. Maybe it spread throughout a few classrooms. You could talk to someone in another grade and they wouldn't know about it. You could definitely talk to someone in another school and it wouldn't get to them. Definitely go home, go to the mall and etc and it wouldn't be there. But at my job the rumors and gossip spread beyond the work place. It spreads all over the whole community, the whole city. The gossip spreads out the building and throughout the entire city. In my experience adults talk about you way more than children or teenagers could ever dream of. And when you talk about a person so much that it gets to the gym they work out at, or even to the grocery stores they shop at, or chinese food restaurants they go to, or the mall or even to family members that live in other cities. Well that kind of gossip is mean, cruel and just really above the pale. Anybody can have a bad day. Why does it have to be ridiculed and mocked and made fun of for weeks, months and years at a time. Now that I’ve finished watching this it made me think about what I have learned of the Bible (I studied with Jehovah Witness’). It’s taught that the Bible (Genesis 9:4, Leviticus 17:10, and Acts 15:29) prohibits ingesting blood and that Christians should therefore not accept blood transfusions or donate or store their own blood for transfusion. Yet the Bible also says (sorry I can’t remember the chapter) 15:13? He who surrenders his life on behalf of a friend is greater than one who conquers the world. There’s a loophole. If you give blood to a person then die from complications than you are not greater than one who conquers the world? Lmao. I’m overthinking it.

My biggest thing right now is saying No also. I feel like I work so much that I don’t have time for my friends, family, let alone UA-cam which I love. So that’s what I’m working on this year

I don’t think thrifting matters on the type of town you go to- rich town, poor town. You can go to a poor town and get some really great deals, because half the time people don’t understand the value of what they are donating. Goodwill by the mall I got a Coach bag for $5. A real Coach bag. Goodwill in Gorham I got a Michael Kors jacket for $6. That same jacket at Macy’s is $250. I also got a Northface jacket for $13. Normally $150. Really. It’s how you thrift. I’m old. I’ve been doing this for ages lol
