I can’t believe these have gone up to $3000+ guitars now. I got one about 6 years ago on clearance at guitar center for $1,149. I’m still impressed by the volume and low end that comes out of such a small body. I don’t really love the neck though. Mine has a pretty deep V shape to it. The sound more than makes up for the neck shape. The finish on mine is starting to check pretty good now. Mine hangs on the wall, but I really should have kept it in the case with a humidifier. My house has electric baseboard heat and it gets really dry in the house during the winter. Then the summers are miserably humid. I’m sure that’s why the lacquer is checking so fast. Or maybe guitar center knew something I didn’t and that’s why it was so cheap. It’s checking like a 30 or 40 year old guitar. I’m not complaining though. I think it looks cool. My lacquer Strat and Les Paul aren’t checking like that though. Solid vs acoustic I guess. It’s kinda funny. The case looks almost brand new and the guitar looks almost vintage. I’ve always used a gig bag to take it out. That red interior of the case looks so nice I didn’t want to ruin it. Now the guitar and case don’t really look the same age.

Wanted to see what one of these can really do and hear it is wonderful playing😊

Matt, I bet after a while a lot of high end guitars all sound pretty much the same. Yes, they all sound incredible!

I realize that these demonstration videos are partially designed to reach a wide audience to help facilitate the sale of the featured instrument. Not a problem. What I found interesting here is that the verbal description and assessment by Matt Thomas point out some things I had not previously considered. I have played several Authentic series Martins but did not completely consider the fingerstyle potential of widely spaced strings from the nut and saddle. Thank you for pointing that out and providing your feedback about how you find such a configuration helpful to some of your playing styles. That was very helpful.

Adirondack and rosewood my favourite combination of tone woods, the deep gurgle of some bass notes with some definition...this guitar has some amazing tone and consistency Martin are known for. I have only every hear this type of sound coming out of $5K and above Martin acoustic guitars and something not quite as good but similar coming out of $5K Taylor acoustic guitars...very lush tone

That is some insane wood and it has the most amazing patterns running through down the back of the guitar... a true work of art!!! That sounds amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!

This guitar has some serious sustain!!! That tuning is leaning a hand to the incredible sound this guitar is putting out...I am glad you used some descent mics to capture the mellow nature of these tone woods...the red wood seem to warm everything up with tighter high over tones of the Koa wood...interesting combination...great sound not something I actually like the sound of but I appreciate the tone none the less...thanks for posting this!!!

That is an impressively loud, clear bass response. Remarkable and quite beautiful to behold.

If you had asked me when I was young what the best acoustic builder was, I would have said Gibson. After spending years becoming more familiar with various luthiers' work, I would say, whichever instrument fits you best today. This Doerr Trinity is another exceptional instrument moving through Cedar Rock.

It was a pleasant surprise to hear the soundboard vibrate sympathetically as Matt spoke toward it. Impressive. The wideset grain on the soundboard? Good to note, thank you. I will observe going forward.

Beautiful instrument and it sounds good, too. When seasoned luthiers voice tops to their paired Indian Rosewood back and sides, they have a rich bottom end. I've played a custom shop Martin and found it a capable, sensitive instrument. I prefer a red spruce top, specifically, Adirondack spruce for a soundboard. Thank you for the demonstration.
