Just think of all of the fools who reject this film as outdated "toxic masculinity", who never think about these later scenes: the petite, upstanding Millie has KICKED ALL of the brothers out of THEIR OWN HOUSE, and they are reduced to "yes, Ma'am/no, Ma'am" subservience. This is one of the greatest scripts of all time, with every scene, every line contributing to and advancing the story of these wonderful characters and their relation to one another. Too bad the final music cue got clipped, because it so beautifully tells us how Millie is thinking of (and missing) her own husband. [And Virginia Gibson ..upper left in the greenish-blue and red plaid..is so lovely; how sad to realize that she ended up a cripple in a wheelchair in her old age, presumably a result of her dancing career].
