I graduated in the early 2000s and I just always felt out of place within my generation. I had friends and was involved in school activities, don’t get me wrong. But I have always loved the 80s music, 80s fashion, 80s big hair, and other retro genres. A lot of the music in my generation became garbage once I entered high school. Just feel like I was born in the wrong generation. I wish I could have gone to high school in the 80s. Before cell phones, before social media. Back when people weren’t so offended, back when you could stand up for yourself, back when people had actual real conversations. Back when the dating scene was better.

In 1994 i was a kid and my mother, who was an HS teacher, used to bring me at her job. I remember how happy the students seemed and i couldnt wait to grow up and being in HS as well. I entered it in 2002 and i could sensed clearly how different it was: after 2000 everything was fading, the music, the style, the mood everything slightly worsen year after year, everyone noticed it but it was slowly and we didnt paid too much attention. I graduated in 2007 and the year after everything changed.

Back when high school was so much simple back then when social Media and cell phones weren't a thing in the 80s and 90s while In the 2000s which sure was the year social media platforms. Aka facebook and myspace and youtube and even twitter That came out in the 2000s but at least those social media Platforms were much simple back then when social media. Before was just a hobby and it didn't became a job at all But damn these people look so happy in those high school years. Like damn it is sad to see how social media has affected people And school since high schools students now would just be focus On their phones though.. and oh boy high school students sure can Be so damn toxic! from someone like me that has dealt with So much toxicity at high school before in Canada in the 2010s. Class of 2020. I still wish our year didn’t get cut short. I wasn’t super big into highschool at the time but man I do miss the days of being with friends 24/7. After 2020, people became so ingratiated with themselves and super selfish I’ve noticed. I miss the days of 2016-2019, the world made sense back then!!! At least in my eyes they did😂 Also to all of you graduates in the 80’s, im super jealous. Everytime I ever see something about the 80’s or my parents talk about the 80’s, it is also with such fond words. From what I can tell, you guys clearly had the best time!
