I started with the T posed models of the original 2 player character i sculpted previously to help save some time. They took around 4 hours each. both sculpts completed back to back in a single sitting Yo...

Warduke Miniature Painting Timelapse (7x speed)
Переглядів 1034 місяці тому
For my first live stream of 2024, I wanted to paint the model of Warduke who I sculpted for our return to Patreon in August. I've loved this character for a long time and was really happy with the model and I just couldn't wait to get him painted. This is a timelapse of what turned out to be around 4 hours of painting time. I used a combination of layering and glazing techniques on him, and I p...

The Sahagin priestess is an NPC character that appears in a tavern in D&D. She sounded like an interesting character and I couldnt help myself so I wanted to sculpt her. As with most of my work she is being sculpted as a 32mm scale miniature (32mm for an average human male measuring from the bottom of the foot to the eye line whilst in a neutral pose). all of the details are sculpted thinking a...

Dark Souls: The Roleplaying Game
Great stuff Dan, thanks for sharing. I'm just doing some Warduke research before I start on my next mini. I love the sculpt (as always) and It was great to watch it being painted. Now I'm going to continue my research by watching the 80s D&D Cartoon EP 5.
I started watching the cartoons again recently. A bit of a hard watch tbh but still enjoyable! Have fun mate and can't wait to see your version! :-)
your work is amazing, and so fast !☺

You need to be able to appreciate the painting to be able to get the sculpting right. Otherwise you put details on the model that can't be painted and the mini is a technical failure. I've been painting minis for 35 years and sculpting for 20+years and the 2 skills complement each other.
Yet more cool minis :)
great work Dan!! Loving this

куда пропал?
I had to take a bit of time off live streaming because of the nature of the work I was doing, but I'm back now! :-)
куда пропал где видео ?
These sculpting videos are truly impressive and I learn a bunch just watching your magic, keep it up!
Thank you! I've got a tonne more I just need to get edited but I'll work through them all eventually! :-)
🤪 P r o m o S M
Really cool, I very much like the video and your information as you go through the process. under 3 hours is very impressive. Great work, your skill and experience show through.
I was wondering do you use a tablet or a digitized screen to work on, or old fashion Keyboard and mouse?
Thanks Sean, and sorry for the late reply!! I sculpt on a Huion Kamvas 20 graphics monitor with stylus. I used to use a Wacom but I actually prefer the Huion. I do occasionally use a mouse when I'm moving bits around or doing some of the processes like decimation for example, but not for any of the sculpting.
Hi, a buy this model on a Brasilian rpg shop, do you share him on the web?
podrias compartir tu interfaz de trabajo porfavor
"promo sm" 😆
Show!!!
Would you mind doing a tutorial on how to pose a sculpt in the future? Very nice and easy understand tutorial btw!
Of course! you'll see it in my live streams all the time anyway but I'll do a shorter video to explain the posing process
@@TheLionsTower Looking forward to that. Cheers!
Stunning bud
Thank you! Cheers!

HI when you use sculptris pro leave it on adaptive size?
Yeah, its pressure sensitive so the lighter I press the smaller the tesselation that is applied to the mesh. If I press harder it creates larger tesselations on the surface, but for the most part it only really affects the sharp edges. I typically would dynamesh with polish applied after doing the sculptris sculpting and then use hpolish to clean up any sharp edges.
Thank you for this🧎❤
My pleasure! more sculpting streams every Wednesday :if you want to see the sculpt through to it's conclusion! :-)

Wow she is really cool looking, would there potentially be an option in the stretch goals for a loin cloth to cover the butt and front a bit but still be considered a pin up 😁🤞
Where can we find the info for TRIBES? Can’t seem to find it anywhere on MMF yet.
It’s live now :)
www.thelionstower.com - sorry for the late response! there are still some early bird tier places available too!
Hi Dan i read about you on kick starter and im so happy to watch your videos, so i would ask you how it's possible buy your amazing miniatures project, hope you answer me quick ! Good job!
Sorry Daniele, totally missed this message!! thanks for the compliments! you can buy models on ltminis.com or STL files from www.myminifactory.com/the_lions_tower - I really need to check my comments on here more often!
A quick hello from an old Canadian living in Maine, USA... terrific work. Stay with it! I stumbled upon your MyMiniFactory work first, then found your Kingdom of Talarius Kickstarter which is FANTASTIC - I'm going to get all that I can afford! I've been out of the miniature-painting and tabletop wargaming hobby for a long time, but got back into it during COVID. I have no experience in 3D printing/sculpting but wanted to get into it and just purchased a Phrozen Sonic Mini 4k along with Phrozen Aqua Grey 4K resin - so thank you for noting your printer, I'm reassured!
you wont regret it Richard! its a fantastic little printer for the money! send me an email at dan@ltminis.com with your preferred My Mini Factory email address and I'll give you a sample pack to try out too as a thank you for putting your faith in me! :-)
I'm about to pledge your Kickstarter! The sculpts are fabulous, I hope we get to the Behemoths and beyond!
I'm planning an expansion with monsters and war machines in the future so there will certainly be more!
My first look at a 3D sculpting tutorial... love it! Thanks for helping the community.
Hey have you considered making a course!? I would 100% pay for it! this tutorial is really good, thank you for sharing
I've already written the prospectus for one - Just need to find the time to script it all and actually film it now! thanks for the vote of confidence and I'm glad that you found it useful!
Where can i find this?
you can buy a copy of the model on ltminis.com or the STL files on www.myminifactory.com/the_lions_tower - sorry for the delayed response - I don't seem to be getting notifications from youtube when someone comments and I'm not in the habit of checking yet!!!!
Looks more like cleric than monk.
thats the flail for you - The concept for this character was designed by a great artist with a very unique style named Brother Baston. It isn't quite what I'd think of as a monk tbh but I do like the design
This is sweeeeet
you make it look so easy, loving your bard sculpts
Love your work! Thanks for sharing this. It's so helpful and I enjoyed it a lot. One suggestion if you don't mind, it would be way better to do a screen capture instead. Is there any chance you can share this ruler you are using ? Good luck with your Patreon project :)
Cheez thanks for the feedback! glad you found it helpful. I can't share this particular ruler as its not mine to distribute but I have made a 100mm ruler which i will happily distribute. regarding screen capture, I'll try it on my next video - hopefully I'll get the next part done very soon and we'll see if it works out better that way.
I understand. You just gave me an idea to make my own ruler. Yes it would be nice to share things like a ruler or something to help your Patreom campaign. I believe screen capture will make things much better in terms of quality and if you want to show a figure like you did in this video you can just capture it with the camera and then make the video as you wish on the edit. Hope my feedback helps, I would love to see these kind of videos with the process of miniatures/figures. I am new to this business and there are so much to learn.
Cheez its a simple matter - in Blender just extrude a basic cube upwards with each cube being equal to 1mm. then split each section in half and extrude every other section out to the side to give you indicators with every 10th being slightly longer. I'll put the link to mine in the comments for you shortly to save you the effort :-)
Thank you for the tips! Yes, if you can share your own to get how to make it, it would be great. I'll share mine when I'm done :)
Cheez here you go - 100mm ruler. 1drv.ms/u/s!AiaTTBA4R005gtYIwzrKH5gAt2H6hg Just make sure nothing overshoots the top or bottom of the ruler and then in the 3D print exporter set the Y axis to 100mm and your mini is scaled properly! :-)
