Great video mate, i want to try the local brooks out near me but they’re soooo overgrown it’s annoying. i’m not many miles away from papermill lock so since getting back into fishing this year i’ve tried to get down there a few times with only catching once in a couple hour session but it’s still so worth it and puts a smile on your face rather than blanking ! Need to catch some new species with chub being on the list! interesting to learn about what they’ll bite on and the technique you’re using. Thanks !

I’ve never failed to catch on the river crouch at riverside walk wickford had perch dace chub roach and even seen eels caught there trotting red maggot .troube is its a small run

That was a lovely looking chub 👍 Can’t beat small rivers and brooks, my absolute favourite places to fish. I reckon a tiny shad, 50mm or even 35mm would have resulted in a few little perch. 35mm has become my go to lure recently, a tiny perch is still a very welcome fish in my book!

How do you find these places? Id love to fish some small streams. Is it literally just looking on google maps and finding little streams, driving to them and seeing if there is access? is there anything i need to be careful of when fishing these little streams like if theyre private or club or what ever? or are they generally open to anyone to fish? thanks

Really very good honest video, just diverting from this video i would really like to see a long term review on your BFS reels especially the Fishband Tender Shoot BFS Reel, i myself have the Darkwolf Ultra and the Shimano SLX BFS and the Shimano Alderbaran BFS Reel, I would be really interested in a review on all your BFS reels i am looking to buy a Shimano Calcutta or a Fishband Tender Shoot BFS Reel i just have not seen any long term reviews in the UK regarding the Fishband Tender Shoot.

That brought back all the excitement again, what a session, did we have a good time or what. Apologies for the language, I'm not a UA-camr 😂 just an old skool angler 🤭

Hey Bailey great video as always , I had a 3LB chub from my local canal on a FFS craw in white ( a lure you put me on to ) I was after wasps so I was using my 1-7 G rod it was an insane fight on the light gear, maybe worth a try, I know its a lure you enjoy fishing , Many thanks

Free lined cheese or worm, if you want to try a lure tr a fat boy style like the Shakespeare big S in smaller sizes Steve had some cracking results on them way back when. If its stormy and muggy you can’t beat a nice big juicy black slug on a size 6 freelined on trilene XL, you’ll know when you’ve got a take as the chub will darn near rip the rod out of your hands.

Yes little crankbait . Salmo bug little spinners. If you look at ginger fisherman he used frog lure with offset hook I believe and soft tip rod he did not set the hook he let the fish hook itself.
