That vid is from when the stove was new. Several firmware updates have it starting much quicker now. This will be our 7th season with it. It is a workhorse! Highly recommended!

Even on full blast, the distribution fan is not obnoxious. If, however, we find we need quiet... the stove has a "Whisper Mode" which will cut the fan noise down considerably.

Hi. I just installed. Soft start today and tomorrow I head out. I’m plugged in T an rv resort so I didn’t have time to test it but a 2200i should run one 13,500 btu ac just fine? How many hours do you think I’ll get on a gallon of gas? Thanks .

This vid was from a few years ago... we have since upgraded all of our generators to Predator 3500's. Two 2000 watt inverters will easily power a 13.5k btu AC.

Howdy... Look into RV's (on UA-cam) using Honda 2000 generators with EZ Start or Soft Start device attached and available on Amazon for $250-$350 depending on your choice of options available.

When it was new... moreso. Less now that we are on our 4th season.

@@keithmalatesta7660 second season using it, feel like I had very few in the first season - that I noticed. Seems to be doing it more now in this second season. Had the dealer come out and look at it and said everything was fine just normal metal heating/cooling noises. Frustrating that this has developed though. Hoping it will go away.

@@britneycoley457 Now that I think about it it made more noise before I removed all of the back panels to vacuum all in behind there after the third season. There was a lot of dust buildup near the fans. Perhaps removing those metal shields in the rear of the stove and reassembling reduced the amount of ticking

Interestingly, I happen to be sitting here with one of my Kill A Watt meters as my "String around the finger" reminders to calculate how many start-up watts I'll need to power a small AC unit in my off-grid house. I only have the EU 1000 at the moment but with all the three digit temps some investments need to be made. Have you looked into the EZ Start or Soft Start options ? (to cover the surge at start-up ?). I found a good number of You Tube videos giving the experience of other's on the RV circuits.

@@deanstackhouse4991 I have looked into the soft start units. Instead, I think I’ll put a 5000btu AC in the kitchen window of my Coachmen BT17. My Honda 2000 can run that with power to spare.

It is a standard 30 amp to 15 amp adapter available at Lowes and Home Depot

Thanks Keith, I have a Coachmen Clipper 17FQ, and a Honda eu2000i. I had always heard this Honda would not run a 13500btu AC so I never tried it. I have a 30/15 adapter. I’m trying this tomorrow! I’ll let you know if it works for me.

Keith, does your Honda have 20amp sockets or 15amp? Mine is 15 amp.

Bradley R I don't have them anymore... we rent them so much we turn them over and sell them used with 1500 hours on them (I added hour meters to them). We've switched to Predator 3500 watt inverter generators as our rental fleet has grown to 15 units, some with 15k AC units!

Keith, I got my AC to start, but it only ran about 15 minutes then overloaded. Oh well, it was a great experiment!

It doesn’t get that cold here. We had a cold snap of 0 to 10 above last winter and it kept up without issue. Love this stove!

Hmm... owned the boat for 5 years... never an issue. Probably an issue with the boat driver if your's didn't handle wakes well.

I am not using an outside air kit... I went back and forth too and have found I don't need it at all. My house is 4400 sq ft. (1700 down /1700 up and 1000 third floor). Open floor plan.

Hi Keith, How has this been? Do you find that it heats your entire house, or do you still have to run your heating system? I have a 1300sqft house. 650sqft on the first floor and 650sqft on the second floor. My first floor is pretty open, and a wide open stair case to the second floor. Also, how often do you fill it? Hi Mark, the Harman is unbelievable. It puts out an incredible amount of heat! My house is 3400 sq ft. 1700 up amd 1700 down. The heat pump amd furnace are completely off. I have the heat pump on upstairs but it only comes on for an hour each morning, just to cut the chill. I burn a little less than 2 bags a day. I fill it once a day.
