Just an iPhone & good lighting 😊
Who is is reading and punching numbers left right 🤣 💵
Oh maaaaiiii gosh, this reminds me of Patricia Bright’s “The break” platform, but for the Afro dance community. I’m here for it! 👌🏾👏🏾✊🏾🔥🔥🔥
Thank you for this video 🙏🏾
Izzy, do you think that an upcoming dancer should negotiate pay when someone asks to dance to their song.
jasmine nwodu more than likely an artist camp is reaching out to you to utilize your platform to promote their product, music, so whether you’re upcoming or experienced isn’t their focus. You should charge based on your platform. Refer to episode 2 for influencer marketing rates breakdown
Thank you so much
Thank you Izzy ❤️
💕💕 word!! Thank you izzy 🙏
Beautiful message!
It should be both, but I think it's up to the instructor to LABEL their classes appropriately. Meaning, if you're going to call your class "beginner" or "open level" then be aware that people who don't have a strong foundation/technique are going to attend your class and you HAVE to break down the steps. If it's an advanced/master class however then I don't think the teacher needs to spend too much time on technique and it can pretty much be a fully choreo class. The problem is that a lot of instructors will say "all levels" on their flyers to get more people to their class but they really don't care to break down technique to the beginners in that class. Sooooooo yea. Instructors please decide what you want to do in class and label it accordingly. That is all!
Thanks for this episode! I totally agree!
Some kenyan distributors have blocked my dance videos twice(both had 10k views in less than 24hrs), asking me to pay for using the song, whats ur take?... and its me they harass alone btw, i see people posting my video freely, the ones that got blocked
Tileh Pacbro a distribution company or a label? Either way, them asking you to pay for using the song is absolutely ridiculous, you should block them and refrain from using music from their camp. Even when you use a copyrighted song in your dance video and post it on a platform that monetizes (UA-cam) the label & distribution company gets that money so that’s very ridiculous.
TRŸBE DANCE fr fr, i asked them to just monetize the videos but it seemed they actually a more personal agenda, and its a distributor not a label,
I can listen to you all day! Wise!💯🔥🔥🔥
Little sis this looook tho😍😍😍 and great video!
I definitely feel that both need to exist, but separately. Ideally, choreography classes should be catered to trained dancers, and technique classes to anyone who wants to learn the basics of a specific dance technique. Unfortunately, especially with the influence of social media, this has seldom been the case. A different but effective approach would require any dance instructor to create choreography that matches the level at which the dancers who attend their classes are. For Afro dance instructors who host classes open to all levels, this requires a shrewd judgement on dance moves that will be “easy” for any beginner or non-dancer to pick up within a short span of time.
QueeenVeee absolutely love and agree with this breakdown!! Would love you thoughts on this. Being that there have been a lot of Afro dance open level classes held in the US for a while now, do you feel that there’s a genuine & immediate interest in more advanced Afro dance classes? Or is that something that will have to happen gradually?
But isn’t being dancer a type of art? Art is to create?? So as a dancer shouldn’t the top challenge be to create choreos?
cest laniya choreographing isn’t the only way to create art as a prof. dancer. Being part of bringing a vision to life is creating. For example, you cannot say the lead dancers of Swan Lake aren’t creating art because they didn’t choreograph the ballet. Being a choreographer & a prof. Dancer are separate & each is just as important as the other, but not every dancer is a choreographer
majority of the afro classes I've seen are for choreography. I think workshops are better media to break down technique(s). most afro dancers have limited time for their classes, hence, the choreography is the main focus.
DAMINATOR ahhh so you’re pointing out the difference between a dance workshop & a dance class. Good point!
OOO well said!!
Oooo what an amazing question!!! I love all my creatives and dancers but it definitely seems that every dancer hosts a dance class! And its understandable how that could generate a stream of income but not every dancer can teach. I'm not a professional dancer or creative but I am loving these Trybe Tips! Thanks!💃🏾
The branding tips are great, learnt alot🤞🏽🤞🏽🇿🇲
Thank you 😊 I really appreciate the tips feel 😤
