My husband's hospital case worker and Doctors refer him to a therapist at MD Anderson Cancer Center. I hope your friend finds the help she needs. I will say a prayer for her.

I was heartbroken I really wanted to have a home in my home town close to family and have some kind of normalcy. Having to move my belongings into a storage unit once again was overwhelming to say the least. Thank you for your kind words I really appreciate it 🙏.

@@christineslife7547 i have been in your shoes unfortunately. I had to leave my beautiful beach cottage to go to our city to get my breast cancer treatments. I was housed in several different places through American Cancer Society. I am still here in the city because we just don’t have the best healthcare on the Eastern shore in Maryland. I go back to the beach to see my sisters and pray at the beach that I can get back there one day. I hope you find another home in the area that your husband has his doctors. I am just using section 8 housing now for a senior living apartment which is extremely quiet which is nice but it isn’t home at the beach.

I'm sorry to hear you have gone through the same. I'm looking into low-income housing here in Houston. The public government housing wait list and section 8 is closed and has no signs of opening back up anytime soon due to the extreme need of the community and funding. I did find a program to help homeless and lower income individuals, I'm looking into it and even drove by one of their sites to get a better look idea. Unfortunately its residence has not taken better care of it. I pray for a breakthrough. I hope to find a job to afford a regular priced apartment nearby the hospital. Things are incredibly uncertain at the moment to make any permanence moves at the moment.

@@christineslife7547 social services might be able to tell you where federally funded apartments are. They too might have a big waiting list. Texas has had so many displaced people land there it is probably hard to keep up with demand. American Cancer Society might have some ideas. We all paid into these government programs our entire lives so i feel like i can use them when I am in need. My original social services area is beyond fantastic in helping people anyway they can. I can call any day and speak to my caseworker and go in person without zero wait and that is how they are for everybody. They are thankfully keeping my case in my hometown but they can’t help with housing up in the city. They just got me temporary assistance in the city and have me working with a better than normal caseworker up here which i know they called in favors to get that to happen. I have out lived my end of life date so I am getting nervous they will drop me now. I personally decided to try the strict carnivore diet to help to stop the cancer from spreading. I also am looking into European mistletoe treatment. Western medicine was at the end so I decided to try anything and everything. I am still looking for clinical trials in my area also. If I could go to Texas for the best cancer doctors I would but that isn’t in the cards for me.

Thank you for suggesting social services. I haven't thought of reaching out to them. I'm also looking for alternatives to Joe's cancer treatments in a more holistic form. I will pray for you.🙏

It hasn't been easy for Joe. He has been feeling depressed along with overwhelming amounts of anxiety. As for myself I'm feeling the same way. The only way we are getting through it is with a lot of prayer.
