Nuclear Fission and Nuclear Fusion | Explained with example
Переглядів 853 роки тому
Definition- Nuclear Fission is a reaction in which an atomic nucleus of a radioactive element splits by bombardment from an external source, with the simultaneous release of large amounts of energy, used for electric power generation. Nuclear Fusion is the process by which multiple nuclei join together to form a heavier nucleus. It is accompanied by the release or absorption of energy depending...

Mechanical Comparator | Dial Indicator
Переглядів 5713 роки тому
Mechanical Comparators Self-controlled and no power or any other form of energy is required. It employs mechanical means for magnifying the small movement of the measuring stylus. The movement is due to the difference between the standard and the actual dimension being checked. Dial Indicator: Amplifies the length or displacement and translates it into rotational motion of pointer over the circ...

Johannson Mikrokater
Переглядів 1363 роки тому
Johansson mikrokator: It works on the principle of a Button spring, spinning on a loop of string like in the case of Children’s toys. It employs a twisted metal strip. Any pull on the strip causes the center of the strip to rotate. A very light pointer made of a glass tube is attached to the center of the twisted metal strip. The measuring plunger is on the slit washer and transmits its motion ...
Pneumatic Comparator | Solex Comparator | Explained
Переглядів 3543 роки тому
Principle: The change in pressure between the nozzle and workpiece is utilized to measure the deviation of the dimension being measured from the standard dimension. Air is supplied at constant pressure through the orifice and the air escapes in the form of jets through a restricted space which exerts backpressure. The variation in the backpressure is then used to find the dimensions of a compon...
Optical Lever Comparator | detailed explanation
Переглядів 1,2 тис.3 роки тому
•Principle: It works based on fundamental optical law as the edge of the shadow is projected on a curved graduated scale to indicate the comparison measurement. In a mechanical optical comparator, a small variation in the plunger movement is magnified first by the mechanical system and then by the optical system. • Advantages: Less friction and inertia effect and higher accuracy. High magnifica...

Image credit:- Applied Measurements Ltd appmeas.co.uk/products/lvdt-displacement-sensors/#lvdtexplained Principle: The electromechanical transducer converts the rectilinear motion of an object into an electrical signal. Working: The main components of an LVDT are a transformer and a core. The transformer consists of three coils - a primary and two secondary windings, wound on a hollow cylindric...
2.11 Form Factor and bearing curve method
Переглядів 1,2 тис.3 роки тому
-Form Factor Method The load-carrying area of every surface is often much less than might be thought. This is shown by reference to form factor. The form factor is obtained by measuring the area of material above the arbitrarily chosen base line in the section and the area of the enveloping rectangle. -Bearing Curve Method The bearing area curve is also called Abbot's bearing curve. This is det...

Why is the scale put at the distance of one metre from optic lever ?
there is no exact distance of one meter or so. The distance can be anything. And scale is used to get the magnified image of the roughness present on the surface.
