Boost Auto S Series Cab Lights Installed!! **Complete Walk through**
Hey Guys and welcome back to the Garage. I haven't been this excited about a 'truckgrade' in a while. I've installed quite a few sets of cab lights over the years but these are by far the nicest looking and so far seem to be the nicest quality that I've experienced. I was fortunate enough to be able to team up with the folks at Boost Auto Parts to install their first production run set of their S-Series cab lights to replace the OEM cab lights on my 2023 Ram 3500. Hopefully you enjoy the video and find it helpful on your own install. As always, throw questions in the comments below!

Switch Pro SP-9100 Install on my 2023 Ram 3500

Hey Guys today I get started on the first of many upgrades to the new 2023 Ram Dually. Since the truck came from the factory with the max tow package, there were no auxiliary switches. Obviously that needed fixing and so added the SP-9100 solid state switching device. This supports 8 different accessories (4 up to 20 amps and 4 up to 35amps) and all switches can be programmed to allow for vario...

You can tell it the tank is larger and it will report a higher DTE but will likely not reduce this number until you begin to drop below 40 gallons. As you empty your tank further, the DTE will become more and more accurate.

      I didn’t see any messages on Instagram and wanted to get some kind of response to you. We can talk in more detail on my Instagram chat. I would start by making sure that coolant is not overfilled when the engine is off and cool. It sounds like the engine got hot and the coolant got hot and backflowed out of the tank/radiator. When you were towing up the hill, did the engine look like it was overheating or were temps normal?

      My mother drove it down the rode with water in the coolant tank (it was the best we could do) she had to stop after every mile to keep it from over heating, and she made it to a shop. Apparently a bolt had been rubbing a coolant house and put a hole in it causing almost all the coolant to fall out. Also I don't have instagram so that's why I didn't message you through there. The temp got up to 233 we were worried something really bad had happened and I panicked and thought of contacting you because all the shops nearby were closed and you are the best guy I knew to ask what to do. thank you for trying to help I apologize for the inconvenience, also we love the work you do it really is an amazing truck, I thank it will be fine now.

    • @HarrisonsGarage

      I had a similar issue since when you first hang the platform on the columns it will likely not be in the same position as the hydraulic cylinder wants the platform to be. I didn’t think about this question too much. I chose Firestone because the bags and cradle were sold together by CJC off road and I knew based on my conversations with them that they would work flawlessly with my lift (also purchased from CJC).

      The trucks been awesome. Biggest issues I’ve had with it were the factory recalls. When towing the coil sprung rear and is a bit squirrelly through corners but not terrible. If you’re in the market, plan to tow a lot, and are better a 2500 and 3500 SRW, I’d go with the 3500.

      I’ve gone through several sets of them. Each time trying new ways of preventing water from getting between the lense and housing to no avail. If you have cab lights from factory already I’d look into the option from boost auto parts. These lights worked great but I never found a real solution to the moisture ingress issue.

    Appreciate the video, I changed my tires from stock 275 65 R20 to 33 12.50 R20 and it threw my speedometer off by 2 MPH. When I changed it using Alpha OBD it is still off by 2 with the tire size being set at 2634mm of Circumference. Any suggestions or do I just need to go up higher due to it still being incorrect. Mine is behind my radio and I have an after market Stinger in which is a pain to keep taking in and out.

    • @HarrisonsGarage
      @HarrisonsGarage 4 місяці тому

      Sounds like you made your tires smaller by an inch. If that’s the case, your Speedo should say you’re going faster than you actually are by a bit. The first step to getting this fixed first try would be to drive with cruise control on at freeway speeds (I.e. set cruise to 70 and use a gps watch or similar to also record your speed). I’d imagine with your set up your gps watch would read 68 or so. Starting with the stock tire size and stock tire diameter in Alfa obd, you can set up a proportion to solve for the aftermarket diameter. Send me a message on Instagram @harrisons.garage and I’ll send you an example.

    • @HarrisonsGarage
      @HarrisonsGarage 5 місяців тому

      Optimum pressure for mpg will depend on a lot of variables (truck weight, road surface,etc). Generally the more air in the tire the less friction/contact patch you’ll have with the road and better economy you’ll see. Of course too much air means less traction and uneven wear (a bulge will cause the center to wear before the outer edges). I suggest adding 5 psi until it looks like the edges aren’t running on the road then backing it down 5 psi.
