Thermador Panel Install Tips
Переглядів 45 тис.7 років тому
Under three minute video on how to install an integrated Thermador door panel.
I installed panels on the exact same fridge. Luckily for me they came with the backer already installed😂 all I had to do was drill holes for hardware and slide them in. This video is extremely helpful in case I find myself installing from scratch.
I need to fix one of these. Thanks for the video!
thanks man... always very useful in the field tips!!
I could only find it on the installation template but I don't remember exactly what the size was. I think it's about 30 inches tall or a little better.
Do you have to pre order lengths or can it be cut to size?
can you just use the inset 1/4 panel itself instead of adding the overlay cabinet panel? I can hit a specialty plywood store and grab some in wood of choice. Prob use danish oil or maybe paint. cant see why not?
I learned more in these 12 minutes than all the time pressing my nose into the installation instructions from Sub-Zero. Thanks, John!!
Looks perfect!
It’s such a nice clean look!
Excellent video. Quick and to the point. Thank you!
Thank you so much for recording this - very helpful
Does the panel needs to be flat in the back?
Helpful Man thank you
I’m a handy man and tv installer. Got curious about how they do paneling for these Sub Zero fridges and found your video. Excellent explanation on your measurements
Tight is right!
Tight!
Fantastic video ! I truly appreciate the tips . Nothing like experience. THANK YOU
Can you make am update to this? Have 2 this week.
This was worse than no video at all. Camera work was unprofessional and not showing what was being referred to at the time. It is of no use to me and has only made figuring out how to do it much more difficult.
Got me out of jam. Thanks!
You mention using dry erase board for the spacer. What kind of wood do you use for the backer? The sub zero specs indicate the weight of the door should not exceed 50 pounds but the door alone is 45 pounds (without the spacer and backer).
I needed this video….this is going to help me next week soooooo much
Filming was terrible
If those mounting brackets are lost - where can I get replacements? Haven’t found them anywhere
Were you able to find the brackets?
Hello- How much does it cost to fabricate one door?
1 million dollars
Is your backer panel an actual 1/4” or closer to 3/16”? I’m trying to build my own panels and I’m having a hard time finding actual 1/4” anywhere and I don’t want it to be loose if 3/16” (normal 1/4” plywood) will be loose.
Great video.. we have had poblem's with everyone of these we have installed.I personaly think it's bullshit to charge 20k + for an appliance that cant supply the customer or installer with the correct imformation.
Excellent video. However I am trying to fix the loose handle but still have no idea.
This video is horrible. The speaker is constantly pointing at and referencing things out of frame. Disappointing, as I'm really trying to learn how to do this.
Ive been doing this FOR ALMOST 30 YRS. It is NOT that easy !!!!!!!!! It generally takes me about 2-3 hrs. Everything must be square or you will have fits. the tolerances are(in my opion), too tight. They need to allow for expansion in humid climates. And of course , EVERYONE MAKES THE OPENINGS PERFECT ! A typical PANEL ONLY installation should be about 1 1/2s . A full on refer install with WOOD panels, 2 people, with a perfect opening for me is about 2 1/2 hrs give or take. First timers with some abilities may take 4 hrs or so. Leveling, securing, measuring panel height, detailing etc is time consuming. My fees are $650 ,fyi.

What size door did you make, i have a bosch on order and I want to get a customer door made before it arrives the ale person couldn't tell me how big it needs to be and the Bosch manual I downloaded tells me nothing.
What is a "BI" panel??? Since I don't know what a "BI" is, NOTHING else you say makes any sense to me.
"Built in", I assume
@@sillynika it could also mean a fridge with 2 doors
BI is one of Sun-Zero’s model lineups.
Thanks man! I needed that info!
Thank you for the reference vid! Needed a refresher!
Hello , i am in the process of doing a kitchen that is going to require flush inset appliances , any tips . Thanks Reggie
Would you mind posting the tape measure make and model that is in this video? Thank you in advance. Beautiful work, by the way.

Very nice Jon
Excellent tutorial- thank you. One thing that I am curious about is that Sub Zero specifies a 1/2 inch reveal on all sides of the panels, yet it appears that your reveals are less. Is this the case? I would prefer a smaller reveal and wonder how small you can go.
Great video. You're a great craftsman.
Doing one tomorrow, is it really that easy? Never did one and no instructions
Robert Poliszczuk it really is. Please let me know if the video helped.
This is awesome! When I’m all settled in my home, Im calling you for renovations!!!
Can you upload one on how to replace thermador freezer standaard handle? TIA
thx Jon
Trying to tell my boss to get one of those Lazer measuring tools, but haven't convinced him! :(
More videos!
I'm so happy you made a channel! it will be nice to be able to be able to go back to old videos to use as references as needed. thank you Jon!
