On the last day of 2024, I took a trip to Reading, PA to see what rail activity was happening. I grabbed some views of 2 NS trains and one R&N yard job.
The NS trains were a westbound tank train, and an eastbound 10K (Conway PA - Croxton NJ). R&N yard job YJNR was tying up for the day at North Reading.

Here are several scenes from a quick trip to Reading and surrounding areas in August 2024. We see the former BM&R Frackville station at Temple, then an NS oil tanker train heads east. Next is the R&N “North Reading” station. Finally, we see the R&N fast freight NRFF at West Leesport and Millers Crossing (near Molino).

CNJ#113 pulled a number of short excursions on May 19, 2024 in Minersville, PA. The event was Minersville's first Community Day. The trips ran from Minersville to the New St. Nicholas Breaker, freight-only trackage on the Reading & Northern.

R&N 2102 pulls the last Fall excursion of 2024 from Reading to Jim Thorpe on October 26th. We see the RDC's depart Pottsville and at Landingville crossing. Then 2102 passes West Hamburg, Tamaqua and Nesquehoning. R&N's new Nesquehoning station is viewed in the last scene.

Let's follow R&N #2102 on its last excursion for 2023. On October 21, a very windy day, the T1 travels from Jim Thorpe back to Reading. Scenes are at: RDC's at Nesquehoning Rt. 93 "tunnel", 2102 at Nesquehoning, Tamaqua and Millers Crossing in Molino. Enjoy!

October 14th was a rainy, overcast day in Eastern Pennsylvania. That didn’t deter hundreds of railfans and train riders to travel to Jim Thorpe from 3 different starting locations - Pottsville, North Reading and Pittston. We’ll follow the trains from Pottsville and North Reading to Jim Thorpe at : Schuylkill Haven, Port Clinton, Tamaqua and Jim Thorpe.

The last weekend of R&N's Fall Foliage excursions was Nov. 6 2022. The RDC's ran from Pottsville to Jim Thorpe, joined by 2102 from Reading to Jim Thorpe. The scenes include the RDC's at Pottsville, Landingville and Port Clinton, with 2102's arrival and departure from Port Clinton.

This is a compilation of videos of the R&N excursion trains to Jim Thorpe. First up is the RDC excursion from Pottsville to Jim Thorpe. Next is the shortened Reading - Jim Thorpe trip at Port Clinton. T-1 2102 Had a failed firing table problem, and was pulled off the trip at Port Clinton. A pair of SD50's finished the trip while 2102 headed to the steam shop for repairs.

The Reading & Northern #2102 emerged from a nearly 6-year rebuild in April 2022. It ran on 3 short test runs in early April.On April 26, 2102 pulled a 50 car empty hopper train from North Reading to Jim Thorpe, returned to Tamaqua and dropped the train.
