What stain was used on the wood?
Shame, terracing would have looked better
nice equipment !! 👍👍👍
How does anyone afford this type of home improvement?
Beautiful ❤
Thank you so much!
Hi How is work if i need the scrap the dirt from backyard ?
Hi! I hope I understand you correctly, but the dirt that you dont need, you remove it from the jobsite. That's what we had to do for this project.
Which cost more, the slope work, or the house?
the house of course
I think it looks great. Work with what you have.
Thanks so much!
I bet the neighbors don’t like the new view into their homes from atop
Luckily the neighbors house is abandoned!
@@terragardensca 😅 it’s a very cool way to use your yard!
Beautiful! But not even enough room for a table + chairs or comfy seating? Great view
Thank you! The seating is down on the lower level, it wouldve cost to much to make a flat area up top.
how much cost? please answer me asap before my class finish, thanks!
sorry i didnt get to this in time! I think this was around 70k for everything
What type of wood are you using for the main steps?
Redwood 6x6 👍
@@terragardensca awesome, it’s beautiful, is it pressure treated? I’m doing a similar project and deciding what type of wood for my steps.
Thanks! The structural pieces below are pressure treated (the ones touching the ground) And then we used Redwood for the actual steps. Structural screws from redwood to pressure-treated and used rebar to tie into the ground.
@@terragardensca Amazing work. Thank you so much for the guidance. 🙏🏾
@@yoMURVYno problem! Thanks for watching and let me know if you need any more help
are those 4x4s or 6x6s?
6x6 🫡
Ayye, El Cerrito!
EL CERRITTTOOOOOOO
Would be good to see the drainage solution I have a sloped garden in the uk and drainage is a nightmare would really like some advice x
good idea for another video! Thanks for watching and for the input!
How much would a landscaping project like this cost? I also live on sloped land.
This was around 70k for everything in california
What fasteners did you use for the 1x6 boards?
We used GRK trim screws
It’s the mask outside for me hahaha
Probably forest fires in the area and he doesn’t want to breathe in ash
hahhaha
@JadedDragon-rl9hi thanks for writing this out. This is why I like to wear a mask when operating machinery! We dont have valley fever here, that sounds scary!
great job this was beautiful, what was the cost , ball park?
Thanks! It was around 70k
I don't think you guys need an editor. Keep doing your thing
thanks!
I dig the instrumental beats-who is the artist?
stone cookies-dusty decks
I used colored mulch on a slope and after the mulch broke down I got silt with the coloring at the bottom.
woah interesting. Im not a fan of colored mulch
Retaining wall is not insulated, the drain pipe is there, but covered with dirt, not gravel. It will start leaking the next year, will crack in 5 and will require a rebuild in 10.
Which one are you talking about? The concrete or wood walls?
That looks like a nightmare for weed control
It’s a bit ugly.
😮
I respect the tenacity and resolve shown on this project, but I suppose the real estate mantra: location, location, location rings in my mind. I am more fond of nature out in the country, with 2 acres on the creek with hills, I have a fabulous sandbox to play: 3 bridges, zip line, hanging rope bridge and working on a treehouse. But I am glad to see these folks work with what they had. It turned out very nice, well done!
Thanks for your comment 👍
looks great but i bet it cost a pretty penny to do all this
Thanks! You’re not wrong 😅
Hello, I am Al hasan. I am a professional video editor for past years. As you are looking for a video editor and I think I'm the right candidate for this because I have edited several client videos and have a good experience as well.
thanks for your comment
hey sir do you need a editor?
thanks for your comment, not anymore thanks
Nice, however, the budget was busted on the landscape and no funds for LARGER plants? Water feature needed.
Plants have grown in nicely now 😊 check out my short. At the end it shows the update! Agreed on the water feature!
They will have an amazing water feature barreling down the wide stairs. Aimed right dead center onto the house. Should have been offset with interest provided at the offset steps. I wonder if they had planning checked by professionals
I have a half acre lot that is half non usable slope. I watched this to see if I could get some ideas. This must have cost a fortune, and I don't care for the end result. Not enough green, not enough color. Too much brown and concrete. Too much wasted space.
Thanks for your comment 👍

I’d love to see it when the plants mature.
Check out our UA-cam short. It shows progress on the growth at the end!
That pipe under the concrete, how to get to it if any prob arises?
You would have to demo the concrete! It’s well protected though 👍
WHOA!!!
😮
Hmm, looks good, but not much added utility.
Thanks for your comment 👍
Exceptional
Thank you! ❤
What that run you?
for just the stairs I think it was around 6k for all of them
Nice transformation. Obviously a low rainfall area otherwise the bark would be knocking at the back door on the first wet weekend and the timber introduced to the soil would rot very quickly. If the homeowner loves it then worth every dime.
Thanks for your comment 👍 mulch has stayed put for the most part even through some wet winters. 🤞
Dislike all the plastic used. But for the rest nice transformation.
Thanks! I don’t like the plastic either 😢
What?! West Coast is such a clown place. Nice mulch pile.
😂🤡
looks great. curious as to the ballpark it cost.
Thanks! This project was around 70k if I’m remembering correctly
Excellent transformation. I am looking to purchase a home with a similar sloped backyard. Could you please let me know what will be the ballpark range for the same project now?
Thanks! I think it was around 70k if I’m remembering correctly
I need this asap
Hire us asap! ;)
@@terragardenscawhere are you located?
@@christinakimble9250 San Francisco bay area!
Ok too far I’m in so cal
Four guys, how many total work days? Would love to see an evening video - plenty of lighting to transform the backyard Great job
Thanks for the idea!
Do you need a video editor bro:)

Hey! just dm you on IG
A lot of steep hillside lots like these in the Bay Area. I think you guys did a great job. Especially since the bench with a view was the client's #1 priority. And the need for drought tolerant plants and landscaping in NorCal now more than ever. Still I might have splurged for a tiny patch of lawn in that flat area under the tree, just to lie on, but that's me.
Thanks for your comment ❤
Kudos to Terra Gardens for the imaginative reinvention of the normally wasted slope space into a viewing platform destination! Bella Terra!
Thank you so much!
Way too simple. IM(not so)HO
It’s not your honest opinion? Thanks for your comment 👍
@@terragardensca I think the "H" in question stands for Humble. So since I was criticizing (as the negative piece of shite I can be sometimes) IMHO (in my humble opinion) can't be all that humble, had it been I wouldn't be putting myself in a position to criticize, now would I? Cheers! Congrats for the garden!
