Poetavango is an arts organisation based in Maun, Botswana, Africa. It is community-based and non profit making, and has been in operation since April 2008. Poetavango strives to support the arts and contribute to the growth of the local arts industry. It aims to achieve these by facilitating and hosting various arts oriented initiatives such as performance platforms, visual arts exhibitions, arts festivals, literary activities, workshops, symposiums, etc.
Poetavango's membership includes a poets, storytellers, musicians, writers, visual artists, photographers, etc. The organisation has, over the years, contributed significantly in the development of the arts sector in Botswana. This has been mainly achieved through Poetavango's annual Maun International Arts Festival, which has been running since 2011.
Poetavango's mandates includes working directly with its immediate community, engaging in outreach project that benefit the community.
