    See Prof Sam Vaknin UA-cam amazing insights into Addiction & Alcohol. Humans have hard- wired addiction circuitry: beginning with HAVING to be addicted to primary caregiver to survive... 3 of us were SA'd: my self medicating heroin addict sister long dead, my drunk sister estranged from the child she broke mentally...my choice weed: smoking has ruined my lungs/ teeth/ coherence...

    41 years clean this year 2024 of H. All because a judge gave me a second chance when I was facing some serious charges at 23. It changed my life. I wish everyone who’s ever given this kind of chance would run with it. It saved my life. And now I get the privilege of being a first time Grandma. Greatest gift ever next to having my own children. And I wouldn’t be enjoying this blessing in my life if I hadn’t just buckled down and put in the hard work to not only GET clean, but STAY clean. I’m recovered. 🙏 ✌️ from Delaware.

    Addiction is a choice not a disease. Those who make excuses for the weak, selfish, ignorant, criminal behavior, are a disease. Not one scientific fact addiction is a disease. Amazes the crap people get away with.

    This just shows how important parenting. All these people got into a bad place due to trauma from bad or neglectful parenting. Once they were reparented, overseen and given guidance, then they were able to thrive in society.

    The blonde is a true lifer. She went through withdrawal, which is agony, and all it took was for her to run into an old friend and she was back using. She did this again and again and again. Her brain is fried.

    I think this just shows how weak we are as a society. No gamily or friend support .plus how organised that crimnals are withlogistics of moveing and selling us these drugs of choice. And still dont do this in secret.its now the norm in openveiw. Years agoe theywere in what weer called opium dens . Now itsin school yards class rooms in the shopping moll, and on tje Street in from of police staion and courts . Its now got a hold of society. I think we in society have to take care of our own. Society has failed .its tome to be responsible gor you yourself and all your gamily amd freinds . It may seem hard but it needs tochange or weas a socity are nowshowing were we ate going .and it isnt good

    That is the thing a lot of the time there is mental health issues so unfortunately you self medicate I know because I did it my story is alcohol and a lot of it every day I got up one day and said no more I went to my family doctor and told him what I was doing he seemed surprised at first just by the look on his face he helped me get my mental health under control with the appropriate medication and anytime I felt like I wanted to drink I would clean until I thought everything was perfect crazy as that sounds that’s what I did and of course avoided anything I felt would be a trigger for me sober for over 20 years

    (1:08:29) AGAIN WRONG. VERY WRONG. Buprenorphine does NOT "minic the drug of choice." It does NOT get a user high. Also Naltrexone is used to reverse the effects of opiate overdose, not addiction. When Naltrexone is taken sublingually, it has no effect. Why do they allow this quack ("Anthony Rehill-Crest, MD") to present this garbage in this video?

  • @iliketowatch.
    @iliketowatch. Рік тому

    (25:36) WRONG. VERY WRONG. Buprenorphine does NOT "minic the drug of choice." It does NOT get a user high. What it does is prevent the horrible symptoms of opiate withdrawals. The avoidance of withdrawals is what keeps an addict from quitting, even when he or she wants to. They simply want to "stay well." Buprenorphine (commonly known as "Suboxone" or "Subutex") is a primary component of medication-assisted treatment (MAT), the most effective way to deal with opiate addiction. Through the use of buprenorphine and therapy, an opiate addict can taper down their usage until they are off all drugs/medications. (Methadone is a whole different issue. It, too, prevents withdrawals, but it also produces a opiate-like high. Even so, it is a better alternative to illicit opiate addiction with its dangerous lifestyle: crime, needles, bad drugs, etc.)

    This is really amazing. The only thing I kind of find odd is that none of these addicts are covered in tattoos and that is not typical at all.

    • @lorirobinson7911
      @lorirobinson7911 Рік тому

      Not sure why you think addicts are always tattooed up but that is so far from the truth and tattoos have nothing to do with if someone is an addict are not. Addicts are soccer moms,judges,dr.nurses,rich,middle class ,poor,you name it addiction is not prejudice it's the devil any and all come sign the dotted line to hell

    Same story as the youngest girl 🧒 n this video. Crazy. Everything slowly led to new drug habits one after the other, except mine lasted about 20 years. Everything ecstasy acid, weed and Coke then speed then every single pill you can imagine then back to meth. For years. 🤦‍♂️. At about 40 years old, got sober 45 now Two kids it’s amazing That I made it out Crazy part of the story is I was arrested and released from jail and put on probation for four years. I immediately ran and made it 7 1/2 years. Finally got arrested and surprisingly the judge dropped all my charges and released me after 14 days. That was the end of it. I could’ve been locked up for minimum four years in prison.
