How to capture couple portraits (without losing your style)
Nice shots man, well done!
Thanks, man! I'm glad you liked it.
Great album cover vibes in some of these! ❤
🧡❤️🔥 thanks, Carli. That was on my mind the whole shooting.
Great results with Ultramax and love the portraits! Question: Why would choose the 24 exposures over the 36? Price difference between them isn’t that big right?
Thanks for the comment! Well, 36 exposures is not always available here 😄
@ than it definitely makes sense 😅
you have such an incredibly beautiful photographic eye! love your composition a lot. and appreciate your perspective on cuba; joy and struggle existing alongside. gorgeous! reminds me of south africa (my home).
Thanks for the kind words. They made my day!
Are all the values in the film sim negative? like -1, -2, etc? Or is that meant to be a dash between the word and the number?
They are negatives 😊
@@xuanlinhr Thought so! Thanks for replying :) great video
This also means the lab developed this at ISO 100 right? Sorry , still learning at push/pull. Im also guessing you shot most of the night shots wide open?
The iso I selected on my camera was 400 instead of the box speed of KG200. That way, the camera "thinks" that I have a higher sensitivity to light, so when I set any automatic setting like aperture or shutter speed the amount of light that I capture is too little for KG. That's why I asked the lab to "push" 1 stop, which means extending the developing process to compensate for the lack of real light that I captured.
This means you shot at ISO 100?
Bro its amazing vibe. I like your vision and see this film with a pleasure (sorry for my english)
Deeply appreciated, bro. I wish I could direct more often, best feeling in the world!
Did you shoot at box speed or did you push or pull a stop or two? How did you meter? Highlights or Shadows?
Box speed, but I tend to slightly overexpose. Film is very forgiving on the highlights. In this particular cloudy day, as you saw, the scene was quite low contrast, so I was using internal metering for the whole composition and adding one stop of light in some cases (for example when large part of the sky is on the composition)
This video... just hits hard. How can you explain how it feels to return to the same place you run away from. Why would you even miss the hassle and the inconvenience? It can't be explained how we feel. And yet somehow, you manage to
It took me a while to pull this together bc there were just too many emotions for a single video. I am glad it connected with you!
Nostalgia hits hard seeing so many familiar places 🥲
Even the editing made me sad and nostalgic :'(
You came away with some great shots!
Appreciated, mate! 📸
Letting the shots do all the talking! I am enjoying this approach 🤩
Appreciated bro 🫡 there's more to come. Maybe Spain next time
Stumbled across your channel not too long ago and have watched many videos lately. I would like to say that you have a cool way of showing your vision of the world, you have great photos. But I'm actually a bit sorry that you only post portraits on instagram. Wouldn't you like to create another instagram account to publish ordinary photos that have nothing to do with portraits?
Thanks for the advice. The idea of a separated IG for this more casual photography has been on my mind for too long.
Loved the rhythm of the video. Also the change in music from normal to reverber and distant when the take changes from reality to photo was a really nice touch
There's a lot of beauty in ordinary things. Isn't that kind of the point?
You got this right. I wanted a slow burn video to better appreciate the moment and ofc the pics 🙏 mostly due to your great advice. Thanks 😊

Sure! Here’s the corrected version of your sentence: I'm taking pictures with this recipe, but the results are bad. I have a Fujifilm X-T30 II. How do I adjust the shutter speed and ISO?
How would you adjust this for the XT5
It is such a delight to follow your process during a shoot. Scrolling through your Instagram shows so many great photos, but these are among my favorites 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks Carli, means a lot to me⚡️

Felicidades por hacer ese precioso vídeo! Buen trabajo. Muchos éxitos más ..... besitos.

🙏 thanks for watching
This may be a dumb question but are all the numbers in the recipe negative? Your images look very warm but the white balance setting for example if it’s negative numbers is a green tint
Yes, they are negative. For the case of WB is set for Fluorescent Light, recommended for shooting at night under Tungsten/artificial lights. This might be too neutral for me, so I went for B:-4 (Blue -4), meaning closer to Yellow. That explains the warmer tone. On the other hand, Red -4 was to compensate for a bit of magenta usually on digital images. So I got closer to the greens. This is similar to Tint in Lr. Note that shifting to Greens and Yellows can be done at the same time. They are not opposites on the WB matrix on the menu. Hopes this helps.
The video and the pictures are so aesthetically pleasing... my brain is filled with serotonin 🫠❤ Experimenting with composition is also one of my favorites things to do in photography
I am sooo happy to hear that ☺️ great composition is always the goal 🎯

cảm ơn rất nhiều
Wow your work is very impressive and beautiful. This film also ended up giving very calming colours. I will be suscribing and watching more of your videos!
That's exactly what i want to convey on my vides :) Thanks for your words!
Good start. Need some reflectors to tame the contrast. between high lights and deepest shadows. And I would play with the color of the reflectors. And your last one is the money shot because the reflected light off the floor lit the glass and tamed the contrast. Now, do a 100 more sessions like that with 2 to 3 rolls each time and you can hang out your shingle as a product photographer for hire.
Thanks for the advice, mate! In most cases, I don't mind high contrast, but definitely for a paid commercial work it would have too much 😊
Lovely work!
The last photo was my favorite! ❤ not staged and it was so beautiful and naturally composed
Thanks! I should try more "candid" still life photography 😅
great video! now i want to try still life photography myself haha
Go for it 💪📸
been the best and most aesthetic video i have seen in a while! great job!
Thanks, Philipp! I put a lot of effort into the aesthetics of each video, glad you noticed it :)
Loved the heist mood at the beginning of the video 🤣. And of course the results, very interesting composition with such minimalistic setups 👏👏👏
It was planned by Heistotron 😅 Thanks for watching, man! I have a lot of these ideas in the backlog.
Nice video! Min 5:23, that shot of the 3 tomatoes was the best for me.
Thanks! Yes, definitely one of the best 👌
it looks great pushed 1 stop for sure - the shots are also very good though , that California sun shot is super graphic all of your exposures were on point , super video .
In every post I read, they advised not to push KG200. That's why I like to experiment and seeing things by myself ;) The California shot was one of my least favorites, now you made me second guess it 😊
That's quite a feat to come home with such great pictures after a dreary day in Cologne. You have a good eye for color compositions, the Kodak's color cast under tungsten light working in your favor. 3:38 looks fantastic! Great stuff!
Thanks!!! Sometimes Film photography brings those little surprises :)
The photo at 3:38 look like an Edward Hopper painting!
Wow, thanks for this comment! I visit Hopper's work so much that maybe unconsciously it is influencing me.
That one was my favourite picture of you in this video@@xuanlinhr
Minute 4:41, that's just 500m away from my home 😀 Nice shots!
You live on a really cool place, buddy :)
Damn, I rarely see this many good shots in one youtube video. Keep up the good work.
also, how I am interested how these photos were scanned?
Thanks@@CrnaInBela!!! The lab used a Fuji SP3000 for the scans.
Nice photo bro, this repicpe created priceless moment!
Thanks a lot, buddy! Fuji recipes are changing my approach to digital photography ;)
nice pictures but please be careful, Germany has very strict privacy laws.
Thanks for your words and for the advice. it's an important issue, as it should be, which is why I keep my subjects relatively small in proportion to the whole image, plus the film scans are not high res, making it even harder to identify each subject. I even blurred the license plate on the old car photo. However, you made a great point and I will try stay even further and also not disrupt anyone's happy day :)
but if you know exatly when to not take a photo there are quite some „loopholes“
Nice work!
Thanks mate 😊
Nice video, how did you go about scanning the images(Did you have the lab scan them or did you use a software like negative lab pro)
Thanks!!! I asked the lab for the scans and I tweaked the colors a bit in Lr. I might start dslr scanning tho. Those scans prices are getting too high.
@@xuanlinhr nice. I always wondered what type of settings on negative lab pro would equate to a typical lab scan. There’s so many options that it can honestly be a bit overwhelming for me at times
Отличная профессиональная камера и прекрасные мастерски исполненные снимки !!!
Thank you so much 😊
