SUSAN ACTESON - Town Without Pity (Live on Weekend Wogan) Dec 2010
Переглядів 25 тис.6 років тому
Recorded live on Sunday, 19 December 2010 at The BBC Radio Theatre, London on BBC Radio 2's 'Weekend Wogan'. Susan is a well-established session singer in the UK. She has recorded and toured with numerous bands and artists for over 20 years and most recently has toured and sung backing vocals in Elio Pace's band. In 2010, she was a part of Elio's critically acclaimed 'Weekend Wogan' House Band ...
Original by Gene Pitney - Town Without Pity (1961) ua-cam.com/video/LYKoSG6aXbE/v-deo.html 💙🎶
One of my favorite songs. Love your rendition!👏🏻 Great musicians and back vocals. PS: It doesn't bother me you were reading the lyrics. I'm not the "Singers Police". 💝🎶🎙👏🏻
This song (as a deep rock-ballad) asks an intense rendition and this singer is a singer to a soft music...
I'm old enough to appreciate the Gene Pitney version, but this gal has it down.
Love the sound of Susan’s voice and the backing singers they sound great
I love this song, and your version. Just wondering why you changed it from "Tigers in a cage" to "Flowers in a cage"? Flowers in a cage doesn't sound very pent up, like tigers.
Sorry, but compared to the original, it doesn’t compare. Nice singer, but no depth with this version; no umph…except for the last two words. Wish she could have dug deeper. I just didn’t feel her version. Good chops though.
Well, the original was the great Gene Pitney, what else to say?
❤️👍
she's cute 😎
There is nothing to say. Fantastic 🥃
She is great better and better 🎁
Beautiful voice and beautiful person!
Excellent great singing fantastic band🥃
She is great 🥃
She’s great 🥃
Wow! Dynamite performance! I love this song and covered it myself a couple years ago. Are you still performing live? I’m sure it’s a great show.
She's just gorgeous and highly talented !!
No one can touch the original, but this is a great cover.
A very average voice. Nothing special, nothing even here to critique.
I like this song, what she did with it was totally amazing. My only complaint was the last two voice rises, seemed out of place. Otherwise GREAT job everyone !!!
Muy buena versión de una bella intérprete.
belle mélodie, voix superbe, cuivres au top, pourquoi n'avons nous pas plus souvent ce mélange dans ce qu'on nous propose ?
WOW!
Excellent version !
Stupendo brano BRAVISSIMA Susan
This is a great band with great singers.
Not only does she have to keep looking at lyrics but she gets them wrong
She's stunning to look at. She could sing them backwards or sing complete gibberish for all I care.
...another "issue" in my opinion with looking at lyrics, is that at THAT time, she's not looking at us, the audience - and with a wonderful face/voice like hers, she becomes much more entertaining/entrancing all the way around when gazing at us and NOT a sheet of paper...God Bless, 🎵👍🙏
Horns late...of course
Beautiful..
A brilliant example of how not to sing a melody in a minor key. She has no idea of how to tune a chord. The key change was particularly badly done. As for the lyrics, that was hopeless. Even reading them she kept messing up. I will not be listening to her again.
She had been very ill until - literally - the day of the show and unable to rehearse or even learn the lyrics. Under the circumstances she was brilliant and I doubt that that you not listening again will change her life.😄
😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
The back up singers, sound like angels. Just beautiful.
This is a gem!
Fann #1 💓
Brilliant vocal
The broad clearly doesn't know the song she's trying to sing. She thinks performing just means putting on the black dress. Fail.
But she has better legs than either you or I.
Maybe if it was a man in a dress you might like it. Anyway, you said you didn’t listen to it.
@@alansmith1071 maybe ... especially if the man in a dress had taken the time to memorize the lyrics and didn't stand around misreading them off a music stand, yeah, maybe I would like that better than this lazy, unprofessional dame. Thanks for sharing your recurring men-in-dresses fantasy with us!
@@leelarson107 yep, she's just another pair of legs pretending to be a professional entertainer ... but legs aren't required to know the lyrics, singers are
@@Marcel_Audubon She sounds better than Gene Pitney ever did, AND LESS EFFEMINATE, for that matter. I'd rather look at and listen to her than him. He always sounded like he just got something caught in his zipper. You really have a thing about her, don't you? Just treat it as an entirely different song and your anxieties will disappear. I like girls. I like this girl. You take Gene, I'll take Susan, and I'll be ahead in the bargain.
she sings the first line wrong, it's "When you're young and so in love, as we" Stopped listening at that point, she's not trying hard enough.
I was probably distracted by the blonde back-up singers behind her, and it sounded right to me. What did I miss? I played it back again, and I didn't catch where it was supposed to be wrong.
Pity you missed it then. Susan sang very well.
@@alansmith1071 you can't sing it "very well" if you're reading the lyrics off a music stand and getting half of them wrong coz you were too lazy to memorize them
@@leelarson107 guessing there's a lot you don't catch, dearie
@@Marcel_Audubon I guess there's a lot you don't know about music or manners, being a rude, uneducated moron.
I was never that wild about the song, but this presentation of it is the very best I've ever witnessed. *And I didn't mind the pretty girls, either.
Thanks to the backup singers , this the breast version I have ever heard .
Thank you for putting it more properly than I would have. I would probably have allowed my hormones to get in the way.
@@leelarson107 🤣🤣
"Breast version"? I see what you did there. :))
All all all I want right now is a martini and a cigarette and a time machine to go back to the 60s great rendition
Well, the first two are a good start!!
Great performance by a talented, young woman!
So wonderful to hear such an outstanding performance of such a difficult song. Wish you had more solo performances to hear.
It IS a difficult song.
I was a wee lad and this played on the radio I wondered about it but liked the song. The movie, still bothers me. Cool to hear a young miss do this number (and a fine rendition). I beller out the last few lines once in a while and people wonder about me. Now i shall replay this and listen again. Cheers.
I agree. The movie didn't live up to the song. Really all over the place.
Hi Sue,Its Gerry, the chauffeur, remember me?, Im glad you are doing ok x
A great band and a great performance from 3 beautiful girls who obviously have a lot of talent. Where have they been hiding? MORE PLEASE!
Great !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
beautiful
This is a brilliant example of how writing in a minor key can intensify the passion and emotion of a song. Nice job Susan. Great arrangement and backup band too.
Yes!!🎶🎙👏🏻
A splendid performance from a beautiful girl plus great band and backing singers.
