Towns, villages, museums, cruise ships, stately homes and much more…
Over the last 25 years or so I've been lucky enough to travel to many parts of the world and during that time I have amassed a great number of photographs and videos which I wish to share with you here.
These short videos and photo montages are provided for entertainment purposes only, but hopefully they will give you a good idea of what there is to see at a particular destination. I'm still travelling so the videos will be updated regularly, hopefully once a week.
I’ve also spent a lot of time on cruise ships and I plan to continue doing this, whilst photographing and documenting the newer ships as they come into service.
If you like travelling, walking, exploring and/or cruising, then this might just be the channel for you.
Please comment if you like what you see, or if you have any suggestions for new videos. Enjoy.

Too many tourons littering up this short
This clock would drive me nuts! But, I am into the story...remember, back ground....
The ticking in the background......arrrgh. almost as loud as the voice. As an older person, background noises can dumb the voice. I like the start of this, and I will try to listen to more. I dont know why background needs to be so loud nowadays, like tv and and now on these. The story is the thing background sound, not necessary. Thank you.. karen Otter. 79 yrs
What an amazing video. Oriana looked a fabulous ship. The service was exemplary, It’s such a shame it’s not like this today. Sadly, we didn’t get to go on her.
How could they build gothic arches without flying buttresses?
Thank you Peter Scott for filming this and bringing back a piece of Lancashires lost history. ❤. Could you let me know the piece of music that accompanies this video please? Thanks again.
The music track is called Honeysuckle, it’s included for free in the iMovie video app for iPhones. Thanks for your interest.
@@scottydog58 Thank you Peter.
I went on arvia got pf today
Beautiful ❤
Thank you Peter, I was born in great Harwood and miss England so much - you've revived some wonderful childhood memories for me. ❤

In my humble opinion the Aurora is the finest real ship afloat. Perfect size and handles heavy seas well. I did a half world tour from Brisbane to Southampton and enjoyed every second. I travelled alone in a window cabin overlooking the rear pool. I forget my cabin number although 1403 pops into my mind. It was a long time ago. We spent around 4 days laid up in Auckland while a propeller shaft thrust bearing was replaced. P&O paid for some sight seeing tours. I think maybe I was among the few who actually enjoyed the unexpected Kiwi holiday. Despite the breakdown we still arrived in Southampton on time. IMHO the Aurora should still be sailing well into the future. There's nothing afloat to match it!
Hi, Thanks for your comments. My family and I sailed on Aurora many times and I must agree that she is a 'proper' cruise ship. Let's hope she keeps sailing for many more years to come.
always had a soft spot for adonia as it was the first ship that we cruised on
Hi, Thanks for your comments. I have very fond memories of Adonia myself. I sailed from Singapore up to Japan and we hit a force 10 storm coming back. Although a small ship, Adonia handled it without too much fuss. Long may she sail the seven seas.
I LOVED THIS SHIP SO MUCH I REALLY MISS IT
Please call snake rescue when you see snake charmer
Why and there’s no such thing as snake rescue 😭😭
We were on the ship in 1995 for a Mediterranean cruise as a family. Beautiful ship it was left Southampton on a hot sunny day holiday was great fun . Done another cruise last year one in October this year can’t wait
Thanks for your comments, Oriana was loved by all.
@@scottydog58 I did wonder what actually happened to it though after all these years
Beautiful 😍
GOLD GOLD GOLD!!! 16:09 is that the GTR revving out there?

I’m Interested in purchasing but I’m in California
I recently had the clock valued and they came up with an auction estimate of $3000. The problem you would have is the cost of shipping it to the USA. I’m guessing that a courier would probably want another $500 to ship. If you are keen, we can talk some more about how we can arrange this. Many thanks for your interest. I would completely understand if the total cost would be prohibitive.
Magica Taranto❤❤❤❤
Lovely! Stadion Feijenoord (De Kuip) next? ;)
Subscribe to the channel and I’ll see what I can do 😉
I miss those days so much Wish we can go back in time
That’s not a ship… that’s a floating building 😂
Oriana (1995) wasn’t the best of ships, she had a tendency to pitch in moderate seas and had problems with severe vibration, particularly noticeable in the aft dining room. Not my favourite.
The United Kingdom has lost its soul and pride we don't fabricate much and all our flagship companies have been bought out .This carnival company is an example. Sad .
Can I pay you to make one for me?
Sorry for not responding I’ve been on holiday. I’m back home on Monday 18th Are you based in the UK?
@@scottydog58 enjoy your holiday. I’m in no rush. Thank you for your response. I’m based in the USA.
It took me a couple of years to build the Addams Family clock and although it would be quicker the second time around, I haven't got the time at the moment to build another one. However, I have posted full build instructions and detailed plans on instructables.com (link in the video description) Your best bet is to find someone in the USA that can build one for you. It isn't that difficult if they have a laser cutter and some basic electronics experience. It would cost around $500 excluding labour costs. If you were based in the UK I would consider selling my prototype to you, but shipping it to the USA would probably be too expensive as the clock is quite large, heavy and fragile. Many thanks for your interest.
@@scottydog58sorry for the late response. I was traveling. If I’m ever in the area, I might be interested in buying it from you and pick it up one day if I can. May I have your email? Incase I want to keep in touch for future?
Balconies are no longer "special treats".

No kids now
I love kids but there are times when you need to relax in a peaceful and quiet environment lol
Very sad. In this video shows all departments expect Deck Department because there's is Pakistani seaman working,,,,,,,,,,,,? SALEEM UDDIN (EX SEAMAN 1) ORIANA AURORA OCEANA VENTURA AZURA ADONIA
I spent my 21st birthday on this ship in 1972 and 4 weeks later sailed to the UK on her. I spent my 65th birthday on the present Arcadia sailing Sydney to Singapore leg of her World Cruise.
Hi Lynne, thanks for your comments. My wife and I (and kids) have been cruising for almost 30 years now (not as long as you) and we've had wonderful experiences on many cruise ships, including both of the P&O Arcadias. There's something about a cruise ship experience that stays in your mind long after the holiday is over. Thanks once again and best wishes.
India 🇮🇳
music sounds good, nice show
😂 dirty city.
Thanks for your comments. I agree that Jaipur is certainly a dirty city, but it is full of fun and excitement that you don't find in many other cities.
Sadly they don’t make them like this anymore. P&O cruises really was something then. Carnival absolutely ruined it when they came in.
I agree with you. Unfortunately, P&O Cruises has now become a 'mainstream' cruise line catering for the masses, previously it was an 'elite' line for discerning passengers. Thanks very much for your comments.

Interesting. I wish I could stay there.
Was on the Maiden Mini Cruise to Biscay and back because of the shaft bearing issue. However we’ve had another 5 fabulous cruises on Aurora since.Still looks like a ship compared to the floating apartment blocks that are the new ships.Much preferred Aurora to Oriana at that time and my niece had her wedding on Aurora so happy memories.Always made me laugh P&Os promotional films always had about 8 passengers mostly the same people.Nice to see some of the old crew like Steve Bourgogne driving and Alistair Clarke as DC.Even Sally Holyoake (an authentic passenger )using the ketchup machine
Thanks for your comments. We also had many happy cruises on Aurora and Oriana. We did have a soft spot for Oriana though as it was our first P&O cruise and our kids made many friends onboard. However, I think Aurora was a better ship (it didn't vibrate as much lol) We have recently sailed on Arvia and Iona and, although I agree with you they do look like floating apartment blocks, we had a great time onboard both. Cruising has changed considerably since the 'old days', at least P&O keep the British feel onbaord.
@@scottydog58 it has indeed changed my first cruise was in 1967 when I was 8 and I’ve seen such an evolution in cruising since some for the better but on the whole for the worse
Was on Arcadia here 3 times was a lovely ship.Swim up bar and one of the first ships to feature balconies and an Atrium.Cabins were large with walk in showers. Was in her last days CMV Columbus I remember Mike Carr one of the Arcadias captains saying she was so well built by Chantiers d’Atlantique. She also featured the famous Māori War Canoe in the Pacific Restaurant that was in the Canberras Pacific Restaurant
We sailed on Arcadia II in the Caribbean in 2001 (shortly before she moved to P&O Australia, I think) and had a wonderful time on board. That was the last time we saw Matthew Bijou (the restaurant manager) He was our waiter on Oriana in 1995 and had worked his way up to be the boss! We've not seen him since, although I have been told he still works for P&O. Like you, we have many happy memories of cruising and we have met many lovely people (crew and passengers) over the years. Thanks for your comments.
@@scottydog58 memories I was on Arcadia on its repositioning cruise in 2002 when it was announced that she would become Ocean Village. When it was announced by Capt Mike Carr at the time many puns and jokes were made about the crew becoming “ The Village People “

Awesome video, I live just off Moorfield ... I love this village ...
Hi John, Thanks for your comment. I live on Sharples Green we're neighbours and didn't know it!
Lovely ship. The days when cruising was peaceful. Aussie Bob 😊
I cruised on The Oriana in the mid 1970's with my parents and younger brother, from Southampton, and the brass band sail away, we visited Spain, Madeira, Morocco, The Azores, Lanzarote and finally Lisbon, before cruising back to Blighty. My recollections were the swells traversing the bay of Biscay, the indian food selection, served with luncheon every day(many of the kitchen brigade were from Goa) my introduction to a favourite cuisine of mine ever since, the home made after dinner chocolates, the disco/nightclub playing all of the Saturday Night fever style 12 inches, the swimming pools having their own waves when the ship was going through rougher waters and one of the very first Space Invader machines. Fantastic family holiday.
Thanks for commenting. There are many people who criticise cruising but they are usually the ones that I’ve never been on one. We know better. 😉
Amuses me at the end that they film someone’s birthday as if it’s anything remarkable. With 1650 passengers on board there has to be an average of around 5 birthdays per day so 70 altogether over a two week cruise (that’s a lot of cakes to bake)
I love herdy herdwick sheep 🐑🐑🐑🐑
Fantastic landscape
Hey Peter! Wow you are well travelled!! My partner and I are thinking of the Arvia over Christmas this year....would you recommend? Were there lots of families/kids there last year? Thanks!! 🎄🛳
Yes, I absolutely would recommend Arvia. It's a large ship but not as tacky as some of the American giants. They still cater very much for the British market, so if you have been on a P&O ship before you will feel at home. There will likely be a lot of people on board (and kids) over the Christmas period but there are plenty of places to hide on the open decks. The ship has a lot of public spaces and it's much wider than a mid-sized ship so it feels more spacious. It's only my opinion but I think you should give it a go. The ship itself is beautiful and many of the new features will come as a refreshing change for you. The theatre is amazing with millions of pounds spent on the audio visual effects. There are also many alternative dining options (at a small charge) but the variety of things to do each day makes Arvia different to the smaller P&O ships. I would recommend the Limelight Club, we have been several times now and it was amazing each time. Well worth the cover charge. My wife and I have been cruising for nearly 30 years now (many years with the kids as well) and by rights we shouldn't like Arvia (we are now both in our 60s and should like the 'old fogey' ships) but we have found Arvia to be a breath of fresh air. We already have two cruises on Arvia booked for 2024 including Christmas, so that should say it all! Remember, it's only my opinion, everyone is looking for something different. Thanks Emma for commenting.
