    no disrespect, they are good cars, but comparative to its competition - the Lexus, the lexus wins in maintenance and longevity. the "driving factor" of a bmw is limited by the time spent on the lifts. maintenance part for part.. the lexus wins unfortunately.

      Honestly I've never had an issue with this car that has stopped it from driving. It has maintenance items that was over due that needed attention but nothing catastrophic. The only direct car that you could compare on Lexus lineup is a ISF or an RCF. They do have a good sounding V8 but offer only a torque converter automatic no manual or DCT. They also drive completely different it's just a personal preference at that point which one you get.

    F87 Comp owner here. The kidney grille are larger than the OG. Also there's the option of 6 pot calipers in front, 4 in rear. And you get an extra turbo. Soooo yeah. Lastly, the OG pre LCI is less desirable. (And let's not forget about the seat upgrade)

    • @brockmoorea14
      @brockmoorea14 19 днів тому

      I know the lower part of the bumper was updated didn't realize the Kidney grills were larger. That's a cool fact to know. Seat upgrade I mentioned because I do believe its one of the best upgrades in term of day to day. The S55 does definitely help with the additional turbo for adding a different character to the M2 chassis.

  • @defyyourlogic487
    @defyyourlogic487 19 днів тому

    OG. More unique. The comp is a poor man’s f80 with no unique identity.

    • @brockmoorea14
      @brockmoorea14 19 днів тому

      Well it's technically the same S55. Some early reports said they had slightly different changes engine wise but who knows. The wheel base of a F80 M3 is 110.7 inches and the F87 M2 comp is 106 inches. That slightly shorter wheelbase does give it that different driving experience vs the F80. But personally I would take an F80 over a F87 M2 comp to replace my E90 M3. But perfect world I would have a Base M2 as my lapping day car and daily an F80 M3 haha

    • @SampleDeezeNutz
      @SampleDeezeNutz 19 днів тому

      M2 comps have a much better resell value than the f80. Air to air intercooler conversion fixes the cooling and heat soak issue for track days. I’d take an m2 comp, and daily an f30 335. But I own a 14 335 and have a 135 sittin on ice

    • @defyyourlogic487
      @defyyourlogic487 8 днів тому

      @@brockmoorea14 Yeah I’d love an f80 M4C personally, 50 more hp than the comp and a nicer cabin. The M2C is a better car than the OG but not the direction the M2 was meant to go in imo, it’s meant to be a 1M successor and the OG does a decent job at that (aside from the steering). If I was tuning for big power I’d go s55 all the way but the M4 chassis just feels a lot more stable at 500+ hp and is better suited motor to that car. The M2CS is the proper M2C imo as it addressed the weight and actually revised the suspension beyond just software.

  • @TrevForPresident
    @TrevForPresident 20 днів тому

    I'd have to go comp for the s55. The first m2 having the n55 continued the tradition of the 1m coupe having the n54, but with a true m engine available in the same chassis, I'm going to swing for it.

    • @brockmoorea14
      @brockmoorea14 20 днів тому

      Don't blame you, if I truly had the choice I would take a comp with the S55 hands down. But I also like the idea of running a Base M2 with just downpipe and tune. Then lapping the hell out of it haha

      Your car has to have a 2010.5 or newer manufacturing date which would include the combox. If it’s older than that then you don’t get Bluetooth audio streaming. Just get a mr12volt. Don’t bother retrofitting.

      @@ZRVN06 personally I wouldn't change the bearings. If you are scared about them and that could influence a decision. But I've built enough engines I'm not comfortable just slapping bearings in something. I would rather pull it apart have the crank polished, line bore checked and rods checked for out of round. Then if it passed bearing size selection for clearance and re assembly. Long store sort there's a lot more to putting bearings in a car especially with age and mileage everything wears together.
