This step is important for a good finish, takes ages but becomes very rewarding when you can finally apply the retouch to a beautifully smooth surface. Finishing the pegs

I'm finishing the pegs this week. There's a lot more to peg fitting than just cutting them to fit. It's attention to detail that makes all the difference. Don't forget the bag violin has it's own Instagram page @bag_violin where you can see the whole restoration from the bag of bits to present.

I'm very pleased the bag violin's fingerboard is made of ebony and not an ebonised hardwood as it makes this job easier!

It's a big one this week! I'm finally gluing the neck into the body of the bag violin. With a little help and a lot of glue it is now back in ONE piece 😍 (Apologies for the heavy rain in the second half - love the British weather!).
