How Milpreneurs Can Make Money Selling Products and Services
Service members, military spouses, and veterans can make money selling products and services online. But how do you get set up to selling in a way that's PCS-proof?
Entrepreneurship in the military community has been kicked into high speed. After decades of struggling with un and underemployment, military spouses are taking control of their careers and earning power by becoming entrepreneurs. I know because this is what I did. I started my business because I was sick of my career being at the mercy of another move.
As a business owner who coaches business owners, I know many new entrepreneurs don’t understand that when you start a business, you’re going into sales. Yes, to make money you need to sell your goods or services. The question is, where do you sell your services?
My guest Monica Fullerton is here to provide a resource to help military spouses and veterans sell their goods and services to make money. Monica is an Air Force spouse, twin mom, and founder of Spouse-ly! Spouse-ly is an online marketplace for military spouses, service members, and veterans. She’s currently stationed in Las Vegas, NV, and just quit her full-time job in the corporate world to focus on growing Spouse-ly.
Monica and I talk about what Spouse-ly is and how it can help military business owners thrive.

Life and work are balancing acts. We all have priorities, hopes and dreams, financial responsibilities, and family. Sometimes these can be out of sync and you end up doing work that doesn’t fulfill you instead of doing work you love. Many military spouses put up with work they don’t like for little money because of limited options. Many veterans struggle to find work after the military that the...

Do you have every financial move you make memorized-me either? That would be hard. I need a system to keep all of our financial ducks in a row. Spreadsheets are one of the ways you can do that. But if you’re like me, sometimes complicated spre...

Roth Individual Retirement Accounts or IRAs are a valuable tool for military spouses and service members to save for retirement. So I can only end my auto lease if I’m deployed?
Can you do a PPM if you are ETSIng out the millitary?
Welp my recruiter (most recruiters aren’t great at their jobs based on what I have seen and heard) didnt tell me anything about the 30 days notice so I’m gonna give my apartment complex a notice but it will only be about 21 days hopefully they don’t trip
Hi the. link to the estimator doesnt work
Thank you this was so clear and easy to understand
I’m moving soon and this video helped a lot. Thank you!
thank you for explaining
So if i’m profiting over 100k now that i’m out of the military vs when I was enlisted and probably only have 10 k in TSP with a short contract would it be wise to keep it? I have a 401 k with a much larger balance but once I get older i’m probably going to forget that I was ever in service especially that I had funds in TSP
My buddy has a retired Penske truck can I borrow that and if so what do I need ?
I plan to do a sale before moving. Wonder if I get the total max weight reimbursement even when I move with much less weight. My plan is to make money and buy new stuff when I finally move.
I’ll be honest… didn’t get too much out of this video other than the 2 technical acronyms. What websites do we use??? How do you fill it out???
Do you receive back pay for loans over 6% since you enlisted? So I enlisted in 2018 and just found out about SCRA will I get money back from all the payments I paid at a higher percentage rate since I enlisted?
I just picked up active duty and really needed this, thank you so much!
USAA sold my IRA and now I can't find it. Total ahole move USAA.
Money money money..... Literally all you talked about in this video completely disregarded one of the most important aspects which covers family law
Hi! I'm trying to find out if chase would also waive the annual fee for a future Sapphire Reserve, I have chase freedom unlimited now and AMEX platinum and opened it before my Call to active duty, I was hoping to apply for CS next and the cobranded CC from AMEX too. I've read some post that AMEX also waives the annual fee for the new credit cards as long as you have opened an account with them before CAD But not sure if Chase would also waive the fees for the future CC applications or would I just need to upgrade/change product my freedom unlimited to sapphire reserve to have the fee waived?
This if fine, but what about child custody court issues.
Can you still use scra if you have debt in collections or a car is charged off ?
Can you switch it back and forth depending on your annual income for tax advantages?
When I retire and I elect to do a DITY move, how would I go about reimbursement? This wasn't covered in TAPs. I plan on moving from NM to NC but my home of record is Dallas, Tx. Would I get reimbursed the out-of-pocket to NC or just the cost associated if I would have gone back to TX?
did you ever find out the answer?
somewhat. I talked to TMO and they said I would have to get a weight before and after my HHG where in the truck and then file a voucher when I get to NC. No idea how much I could make on doing the move myself or if it will be worth it or not.
How can you loose money in the g fund if you don’t intend on gaining but only saving money that is already in the g fund meaning the g fund doesn’t loose money but it doesn’t necessarily gain additional money but if you put in and only intend on gaining only what you put in is it necessarily a bad thing?
Do you get reimbursed for moving costs when moving to your first duty station?
I need to take out all of my TSP money for college expenses. How much will I get if I take it all out? I have $16,000 in it. I’m in my 30s.
I’m moving out of the country traveling to permanently live in another country. Is that a good reason to withdraw all of my tsp account without penalty or maybe reduced taxes??
I am a civilian veteran I worked at the VA Hospital and I HAD to retire for medical reasons and I have CP and I am currently working on getting into my TSP I would love some advice on your ideas on how to best do after all it will be hard because of the fact that it was almost 20 years ago now and because of the move and update to the TSP program and I do not currently know my account number and currently on SSDI I started at 21 and worked there at the VA Hospital when I was 32 I retired that's from November 1992 September 2003 and haven't touched it since they have set it up differently because of my disability
I just got a Chase Credit Card and I’m active duty. Chase says SCRA can’t be used because I got it after I was already in the military. Is this right? Thanks for all the info
MLA is for everything after joining but the benefits aren’t as good as SCRA
I have a travel trailer that weights 7,500lbs. My weight limit is 8,000lbs. Does my camper count toward my weight limit? Any response , tips , information would be greatly appreciate, thanks in advance.
No it does not. For a utility trailer yes
My dad is 70 and just recieved a letter to rollover, what do you recommend he does?
Does this cover dependent student loan debt?
Hi Lacey thanks for your video. I’m in the Public Health Service and therefore qualify for SCRA but not MLA benefits. I’m interested in opening new credit cards with annual fees. My question is if I open those while on active duty now and receive a new set of orders in the future will those credit cards qualify for SCRA benefits? I’m not sure if they count active duty from the very first active duty orders or the most recent orders? I’m anticipating to be on active duty without a break between orders.
I had no idea Stephen King cared so much about the military
If I’m doing a partial ppm, and pulling a car on a trailer. Do I weigh it with the trailer or without the car and trailer?
Does it protect late payments reporting to credit bureaus?
It is crap that you cannot set up payments or touch it UNTIL YOU ARE OFFICIALLY RETIRED...IT IS MY MONEY!!
OR IF YOU SEPARATE FROM THE SERVICE DICK HEAD
I have a question what about Auto loan can you terminate your loan for deployment?
They are the worst. Been trying for two weeks to make a monthly withdrawal from them. The site constantly goes down as you are in the process. Then told me they will send me papers to withdraw. Still waiting after two weeks. Taking a monthly payment is not an automatic 20% for taxes. More complicated. Will take out once I’m 59 1/2!
For the ppm move do I weight the empty and full truck at the departure location?
This is really beneficial, because I’m doing my first PPM from Lee to Bragg, the information helpful. Thank you
You're welcome. So happy it was helpful to you!
So per what you said, about doing PPM. So you are saying that if you are authorized 8000k of house hold goods, but you only end up moving 5000 of house hold good. They will pay the rest of the 3000?? Dont you have to weight your truck empty and full anyways? And then submit the ticket?
Ever find out?
@@contextclue if you are authorized 8000lbs and you only move 5000lbs, they will only pay you for the 5000lbs.
What if you financed the car instead of leading would you be able to use SCRA ?
I served from 2012-2017. I honestly forgot I have been set up in TSP for those years. Having trouble accessing any type of info on my account. any help?
This was very informative. Thanks, new sub here.
Thank you, I'm glad you found it helpful. Welcome!
I want to know if I leave my money in TSP and start a monthly/yearly installment withdrawals when I reach 72, does the remaining balance still earn gains/loss depending how the market is doing? Also, can I still do the 2 interfund transfers per month? If this can be done, then the best way to take money out is by installment and take about 15% of your principal since the TSP gains more than 15% every year (most of the time). This way you keep your principal or it might even go up and just take the gains. Anyone knows the answer to this, kindly enlighten me.
Don't know how I bumped onto this. Anyway Awesome video ❤️😄. I also have been watching those rather similar from MStarTutorials and kinda wonder how you guys create these clips. MStar Tutorials also had amazing information about similiar things on his vids.
Thank you so much for this video!! I have recently retired and am starting a new job this month. My company offers a relocation service that packs out my home just as a PCS would. Since I "personally procured" this move by getting the job, am I still entitled to the reimbursement from Uncle Sam??
Yes, if you applied and were authorized a PPM.
What be a TSP?
It's the Thrift Savings Plan, the federal government's version of a 401k.
@@itsmilmo I have a 403B

Hi, I’m going to training on October 19, 2021, and I have an apartment, but the lease isn’t up until April 2022. What do I need to do? I live in MD
You need to give a copy of your orders to your apartment manager in order to break the lease early.
My son will be entering the Coast Guard in 3 months. He (mostly me) will be paying off student loans that he took out up to 4 years ago at high interest rates. Would the 6% loan cap only go into effect from the day he enters or be retro active to the day he took out the loans? Basically, he has already accrued years worth of interest at around 10% on the loans. So would there be a credit? or is it only moving forward on the current amount owed?
It starts the day he joins and forward for loans he took out before joining. Some companies may offer a refund on interest for certain debts. It's always best to ask. Many banks will reduce the interest rate below 6% to 4% as well.
Great educational information. Thank you
Thank you!
